Nothing wrong with a back up singer. On the second day of opening, the art director said: "The singing girl hasn't got confident to sing at front, we have to change the plan". The lip singer girl has lots acting experiences.

Lin Miaoke, while cute also, just seems like a beauty pageant kid (sort of factory produced, as far as looks). I'm not trying to put her down, I just think that truth wins over all beauty.

While to a lesser extent, Lin Miaoke is still a little bit of a victim although I doubt she feels the same way about it as Yang Peiyi. For Lin Miaoke it's like, "Okay your face is really cute! But we don't care for your voice enough for you to sing at the ceremony.

As for the lip-synched girl, this is not the first time it happend in the Olympics and you are all silly to believe this. Salt Lake City Winter Olympics is a prime example. As the furry white creatures sang during the opening ceremony, it was actually pre recorded by SLC's, Cathedral of the Madeleine's choir school.
Politics aside, Beijing's opening ceremony is the most stunning and imposing show on the planet. Can London 2012 beat it or as good as it? Sorry, I don't think so.

This is another example of CNN's stupid, twisted reporting. What was said is that the singing of the girl on stage was considered not good enough. So she lip sync the voice of another girl. Nothing has been said about whether that girl was cute or not.

In all honesty, I have no trouble imagining America(a totally materialistic culture)going for looks not talent. Its petty and stupid, but happens. Hollywood runs our lives. Nothing wrong with a back up singer. On the second day of opening, the art director said: "The singing girl hasn't got confident to sing at front, we have to change the plan". The lip singer girl has lots acting experiences.

Do you realise that the press or the director or whoever you heard that from was trying to find best words to dress this sham up so that it wasn't so dispicable. If the foreign media hadn't found out about this, no one in china or anyone else would know about this scandal. That girl would have been be sent on her way, having been told to tell no one. Because they didn't want anyone to know because they did was shameful and showed that they did not value that girl at all or any other Chinese person's feelings at all, all they cared about was pulic appearance.

I totally agree with you on this matter. They definite could told us before hand or put her name on the screen when playing the opening ceremony. There is no need to hide if they did it fairly. Unless they knew it's not right, thus they wanted to cover it up. I also totally agree with you about how brainwash that person sounds like. It's so unbelievable that fellow chinese people can say such things like that.

Actually, all Chinese known these "tricks" already on the second day of Olympic. All "the secrets" were available in Chinese medias, TV, newspapers and websites on 9/8/2008, China national CCTV particularly made a documentary on these "tricks". Western media picked them up as exposed news, they are fooling your guys once again! They made lots money from your pocket. Ha-ha ha, I feel sorry for your guys, you may find more secretes tomorrow, lol.

I agree that Yang Peiyi is a very beautiful and cute little girl and should have been on that stage, but you really shouldn't just refer to Lin Miaoke (yes, she does have a name) as "that fake" like she is some devil child who masterminded all this; she's just an innocent little girl doing something for her country just like Yang Peiyi was. And Lin Miaoke is just as cute as Yang Peiyi is.
