@mido5430 No it's not the smart cover...multiple other devices have the same problem not just the ipad. It's mostly just because of IPS displays, look around and you will see quite a few other tablets have the same problem. It's hit or miss, the person who said it was the smart cover is wrong.

Not many ipad 2's screen bleed but if you get one that does then hopefully you saved your receipt because it can mess up the touch screen sensors and make them stop working so sync your data onto iTunes and return your iPad for a new one.

the problem is it's thinner, so there's more pressure on the screen, which is identical to the one used in ipad 1st gen. a screen from the original iphone when put on a device the thickness of an iphone 4 for example, would experience the same problem.

Its not bleeding those are the LED's that make you screen darker/lighter. The ones you see are the side LED's

because if the LCD screen has physical damage (magnet damage) it is not covered by apple's warranty and you will have to pay the out of warranty cost to replace.

here is how to fix this problem, GET RID OF THE DAMN SMART COVER. the smart cover magnets are attracted by the weak magnets located on the edges of the device and when you put the smart cover on the ipad it makes the magnets more powerful and just like when you put a magnet to a tv screen, computer screen or any LCD screen you will notice discoloration on the LCD and if the magnet stays in the same place for too long it will permanently damage the LCD and apple will not warranty it

I have looked at alot of "screen bleeding" videos and on almost all of them the ipad has the smart cover case. i think that its the case that is causing this bleeding effect because the original ipad didnt do this and it didnt have any magnets in the iPad(magnets are use to atract the case)
