Skyrim? Why are people talking about it? For one if your a true RPG gamer EVERYBODY knows that it is no different the past three Elder Scrolls games and has no unique qualities to it I mean simple fighting, open world, average graphics, dragons blah it's all been done before.
Two Worlds, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dragon Age 2 have all got special unique qualitys that better other RPG's yet all Bethesda achieve is bettering it's predecessors.
@MUFCTheReligion Yes I have a high end PC and the graphics are still average compared with other RPG's for example Deus Ex Human Revolution hell even Oblivion defeats it with the right modifications. Oblivion defeats Skyrim in atmosphere, soundtrack, enemys (the dragons are terrible).
I was talking about the PC version on my previous comment, until the new update comes allot of the game still looks bad, because some how they seemed to miss that in the three development.

Read my comment on the Elder-Geek Divinity II Dragon Knight Saga review to see that once again we have an RPG that doesn't support bow. Also,in Oblivion, while you get bows, you only have one merchant that sells arrows, and the only way to get high end arrows is to loot bodies. Compare that with what armour and weapons you can buy at merchants! The we have Dragon Age, that only gave rewards of heavy armour - meaning Warriors!
To all those asking: Yes, you should. Its cheap now, and let me put it simply: ITS BETTER THAN DRAGON AGE 2. If you got DA2, and you were disappointing, you should pick this up. The world is bigger than skyrim and you can pilot ships and stuff, if map size is what you're into.
How can ANYONE be comparing this game to Skyrim, which isn't even out for another month? Because we all know that cool looking trailers always means the game is awesome...

@Ubergreyface Yes, I just got this game a few days ago. I should tell you that the magic system is extremely complicated. So look up a guide. And don't forget to remember what quests you have active. You always have to go back and check what quest you're doing. The game has it's problems, But it's by far better than oblivion. And the armor is enough to make you want to level up to see how bad ass the next set is. Also, look up bonus codes. Free bad ass armor/weapons/ and bonus maps.
AI = Pretty good to occasionally stupid. Except for townsfolk. If you walk around with your weapon out people will not talk to you and guards will likely warn you to put away your weapon. It's a nice *real life* touch. Also, if you steal stuff and get caught, your reputation changes accordingly. Your decisions matter in other words, which is a nice rpg challenge.
I have it on 360. Two hours in and it's pretty good. 2W2 starts out kind of slow and the voice acting is okay to good --except for the main character (you) --the developers never learned the word "emote" apparently. Gameplay = The first fifteen minutes is like a training exercise in learning the controls, etc. But after that you will be free roaming around having rpg fun. Graphics = Actually look pretty good. Clothing and weapon models are nicely detailed; you can mod almost everything.
just got it.. i needed another RPG to play until Skyrim releases. just completed Divinity2+Expansion Flames of Vengeance (which has to be one of the Best! RPGs i have played. so im hoping 2Worlds2 will be another great time consuming Rpg with plently to do and gain.
man i was at level 23 about 40 hours in and then my ps3 hard drive crashed, lost everything, redoewnloaded my themes ,arcade games which took like 4-5 hours then it crashed again!!!! fuck it sucks
This game sucked so badly, on PC and consoles, but nothing compared to the disaster that was two worlds 1, this game improved slightly, but its not worth spending over 20$ for, the game gets boreing so fast the dialouge is TERRIBLE and boreing, i literally bought it and took it back in the same day and pre-orderd skyrim wile i was there.

wish they would stop making RPG's so console friendly, it has some negative impacts on combat as both Oblivion and TW 2 have that stupid "one spell at the motherfucking time" system... I ragequit every time I see that annoying system, magic needs the WoW style filling half the screen with hotkeys and making spells much more available, don't want to pick up my spell-book in the middle of battle and search and mix for minutes to find my ideal spell, only to change it again 5 seconds later.. :(
I just picked this game up today on the cheap. (17$US) To me it plays like a valiant effort to mesh Fable/Oblivion/Dragon Age/Assassins Creed/Dark Cloud II. Sure it has a couple hiccups but nothing drastic. It will def will kill some time until Skyrim. Solid review. Subd =)
This game is great! A great step up from its predecessor, being loaded with tons of long quests, tons of weapon customization, and an enthralling atmosphere! Its a great filler for Skyrim and I would recommend buying it.
But the "Expansion DLC" - Pirates of the Flying Fortress is 26.99, meaning I can get the expansion and the base game for only a few over 55.00, which is great since I enjoyed the first game. Is the expansion worth it..? Or for instance give me something/character from the begging..?

I got the games because of this review... it was an okay distractionn when I had only two days lfet until Dragon Age 2 came out, but I don't think I would play it any time soon. It just wasn't that good, or at least I didn't think so I was actually able to beat it before Dragon Age 2 came out. Well if they make a third one it will most likely be better.

This is one hell of a game. I've already put 52 hours in it and I'm still absolutely loving it. Can't wait for the expansion in August (or September).
I was really interested in this one... until I saw how your character completely changes its skin once you go from melee, to magic, to ranged. It really makes no sense! How the reviewer considered that a plus for the game is beyond me.

@CheesePlow I thought that would be a big issue for me too, but I quickly realized it is actually disadvantageous to play like he shows in the video. I went full melee/crafter spec, and I am having no issues playing through the game. Mage and ranger armor isn't mandatory, they only confer bonuses to willpower or accuracy. You can just roll with the same outfit across all 3 quickslots, and just have it swap out weapons.

@ItsJustCami Well mount and blade has controllable attack and block direction, and mounted combat. Its a very smooth and effective system compared to 2w2 and you dont end up pressing 1 button like a maniac and finding yourself 3 meters behind the target sometimes. Also in 2w2 shields are useless. Perhaps that sucks the most. Polearms seem to be the most effective melee weapons(?) and having a shorter weapon gets you killed in 3 swings. The combat is a problem both in 2w2 and elder scrolls.....
sadly the only thing i like about the first 1 was the retarded enemies. in the first it was 2 easy to make ur self a tank. just find a great sword and enchant it with spirit until ur a u fuck everything up
This game started off badly for me when I was killing ostriches on the savanna with a greatsword, while wearing plate mail. Just felt a bit too ridiculous. Also, the weapon salvage/combination system seemed to be way too amazing; I could kill pretty much anything with a few swings.
I enjoyed it for a while, but like the first one, the ridiculousness of the setting combined with the repetitiveness of the gameplay killed it for me.
This game was ok UNTIL it's few charms were utterly ruined by a completely stupid final boss fight in which all your progress, levelling etc is rendered pointless. You are thus left with a game with terrible scripting, voive acting,console frame rate drops BUT some great mechanics and core rpg stuff which is ruined by the terrible ending.
@marcusmalone I was planning to get the game, but after seeing your comment, I might as well pass. The bad ending you've mentioned (progress, leveling rendered useless) reminds me of SUDEKI, and DIVINITY 2. Both endings utterly bad, progress and leveling not worth it, so thanks for heads up!
@Francozilla I really wanted to love this game. Big open world rpg fan and there's so few around. But, yeah, when you spend a whole game in preperation for a final boss which requires little else but arcade shooter skills and pattern learning rather than all your time spent levelling skills, acquiring and crafting cool weapons etc, it all feels pointless. At the very least, wait for when it's on sale. Glad to be of help!
So no one wants to buy a great cRPG because in 6 months another great cRPG is coming out? Why do roleplayers help destroy the RPG genre?! You would not have a shooter genre fan saying they are not interested in a Halo because a Half Life is coming out in 6 months!
"pop in" rendering is nothing notable, all games do it, but the fact that it is noticeable is a bit of a tip of the developer's hat, theyre using as much polygons as they can get away with, there's nothing wrong with it, it allows the player to start moving around immediately instead of looking at a black screen while the environment loads
You forgot to mention how horribly underpowered and unplayable mages are mages are my personal favourite class i played online right to level 15 with one and my friend as a warrior he can kill 5 enemies in seconds i cant kill one and need help with it this game has literally made mages fail :(

I got the games because of this review... it was an okay distractionn when I had only two days lfet until Dragon Age 2 came out, but I don't think I would play it any time soon. It just wasn't that good, or at least I didn't think so I was actually able to beat it before Dragon Age 2 came out. Well if they make a third one it will most likely be better.

I was really interested in this one... until I saw how your character completely changes its skin once you go from melee, to magic, to ranged. It really makes no sense! How the reviewer considered that a plus for the game is beyond me.
*In mid-fight* Oh, I'm gonna do some magic now! Let me change to my retarded hat and robe outfit, first.

@CheesePlow I thought that would be a big issue for me too, but I quickly realized it is actually disadvantageous to play like he shows in the video. I went full melee/crafter spec, and I am having no issues playing through the game. Mage and ranger armor isn't mandatory, they only confer bonuses to willpower or accuracy. You can just roll with the same outfit across all 3 quickslots, and just have it swap out weapons.

@ItsJustCami Well mount and blade has controllable attack and block direction, and mounted combat. Its a very smooth and effective system compared to 2w2 and you dont end up pressing 1 button like a maniac and finding yourself 3 meters behind the target sometimes. Also in 2w2 shields are useless. Perhaps that sucks the most. Polearms seem to be the most effective melee weapons(?) and having a shorter weapon gets you killed in 3 swings. The combat is a problem both in 2w2 and elder scrolls.....

sadly the only thing i like about the first 1 was the retarded enemies. in the first it was 2 easy to make ur self a tank. just find a great sword and enchant it with spirit until ur a u fuck everything up

This game started off badly for me when I was killing ostriches on the savanna with a greatsword, while wearing plate mail. Just felt a bit too ridiculous. Also, the weapon salvage/combination system seemed to be way too amazing; I could kill pretty much anything with a few swings.
I enjoyed it for a while, but like the first one, the ridiculousness of the setting combined with the repetitiveness of the gameplay killed it for me.

This game was ok UNTIL it's few charms were utterly ruined by a completely stupid final boss fight in which all your progress, levelling etc is rendered pointless. You are thus left with a game with terrible scripting, voive acting,console frame rate drops BUT some great mechanics and core rpg stuff which is ruined by the terrible ending.

@marcusmalone I was planning to get the game, but after seeing your comment, I might as well pass. The bad ending you've mentioned (progress, leveling rendered useless) reminds me of SUDEKI, and DIVINITY 2. Both endings utterly bad, progress and leveling not worth it, so thanks for heads up!

@Francozilla I really wanted to love this game. Big open world rpg fan and there's so few around. But, yeah, when you spend a whole game in preperation for a final boss which requires little else but arcade shooter skills and pattern learning rather than all your time spent levelling skills, acquiring and crafting cool weapons etc, it all feels pointless. At the very least, wait for when it's on sale. Glad to be of help!

"pop in" rendering is nothing notable, all games do it, but the fact that it is noticeable is a bit of a tip of the developer's hat, theyre using as much polygons as they can get away with, there's nothing wrong with it, it allows the player to start moving around immediately instead of looking at a black screen while the environment loads

You forgot to mention how horribly underpowered and unplayable mages are mages are my personal favourite class i played online right to level 15 with one and my friend as a warrior he can kill 5 enemies in seconds i cant kill one and need help with it this game has literally made mages fail :(
