Jeff is my all-time favourite guitarist. And Annihilator my favourite band. His right hand is otherworldly and his groove is crazy good. When he is "on", he is unbeatable. Such a natural player and musician. Waters can be robotic (in a good way) with his rhythm playing and then get all swanky, quick and precise come solo time.

A true demon of heavy metal guitar.

Oli Herbert of All That Remains comes to mind, so does Jeff Loomis, and Marty Friedman, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, the list goes on for a while, trust me. Hell, Jeff Waters is a lot more diverse that just this video.

@ReaperOfMen Friedman, Vai and Petrucci use pretty much any scale they can get their hands on. I'm not sure about examples from Vai or Petrucci, but in Friedman's solo for Megadeth's 'Tornado of souls' he uses some really exotic scales. Check that out, definelitely worth a look.
