  • GIVE ME SOMETHING WET IN YOUR MOUTH!!

  • @bubmarley

HAHAHA, lyrical genius? Patton has stated that he just writes lyrics that are fitting to the song, he doesn't give a shit about the meaning and he's not trying to convey any message.

  • @CrackThoseClaws How does that contradict him?

He said lyrical genius, not scientific, philosophical, psychological...just lyrical.

Lyrics are words to go with songs, so if he uses words that fit exceptionally well with a song, it makes him a lyrical genius, right?

Messages and meanings aren't necessary to songs, the music is the meaning. Recognizing this makes you a better lyricist.

  • @i7omahawki

No. The word "genius" is just too much. He knows he's using lyrics just for fitting the music.

There's no deeper meaning or anything new behind FNM's lyrics.

  • @CrackThoseClaws Right, I didn't say there was 'deeper meaning'. Infact I suggested the exact opposite. Doesn't make it any less genius though...say, did you even READ my comment?

Lyrics are words to go with music.

Genius means to do something exceptionally well.

He fits the words to the music exceptionally well.

    He is a lyrical genius.

Which point do you have a problem with? Or is it general nerves over using the word genius in art, though it has been used for millenia?

  • @i7omahawki

Okay, he's good at fitting the lyrics with the music.

But, as for a deeper meaning, he's not even trying to.

So, he's just about 30% of a lyrical genius. Because that's how much fitting the lyrics to a song counts, the rest is how powerful the words are and how awesome the message can be.

    It's nerves because of cocaine.

  • @CrackThoseClaws Any specific moral or message superimposed onto these songs would make them worse, not better. Fitting words with the music is all lyrics are, and should be. Songs with 'deep' messages are some of the shallowest and least profound I've ever heard. These guys aren't afraid to let the music do the talking, and that is exactly what makes him lyrically gifted.

Having a % of genius seems absurd. And oh...well then, lay off the cocaine?

  • @i7omahawki True to some of what your saying, but Patton has always said in his music that writes lyrics in a way that it's more for how they sound then what they exactly mean. He's basically saying that he uses his voice more like an instrument. I mean if you listen to a Fantomos album, prime example.

  • @Scarecrow6459 'but'? I think that's pretty much the exact argument I'm promoting.

Sure the words accent and provide 'pictures' for the song...but they aren't the central meaning behind it. The music (including vocal instrumentation) is the meaning!

  • @i7omahawki Well I'm just saying that about Mike Patton and the way he chooses to write. I can't say I believe every lyricist/singer chooses to write their music that way. I believe that lyrics, depending on who we are talking about, are just as important as the over all melody and the music for that matter.

  • 3:17 I´ve never felt...PRPRRPRPRPRPRPRPRPRRAAAAA!!!!

  • 6 people are my enemies

  • 6 PEOPLE HAVE CONFUSED IDEAS

  • @bubmarley I hear some of Jonathan Davis (KoRn) in his voice, I hear some of Brandon Boyd (Incubus), I hear some of Serj Tankian (SoaD), and all of those bands are from California, and all came after FNM if I'm not mistaken. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he inspired all of those singers. Honestly, I even hear some of Zorak in his voice (from the cartoon Space Ghost). The man can groan gutturally, he can scat, and he can croon in falsetto. I don't know if there's anything he can't do.

  • Check out the cover my band did of this song on my channel!

  • I got a little annoyed with all the people bitching about the lack of Jim Martin in the reunion. He left the band over 16 years ago and they continued to make great music without him. He wasn't even the first or the second guitarist they had. I like his style but he's somewhat limited. If anything, Trey Spruance was the best guitarist they had because he was just as eclectic as they were. Hudson does a good job as well

  • 2:32 IIIII-HAA!!!!

  • Awesome...so, when's the Bungle reunion?

  • 3:10 I shit bricks.

  • @bubmarley - yeah I saw Mr. Bungle open up for SOD... Seemed ass backwards and most people there did not appreciate how amazing it was to get to see that band live (shortly after California)

  • These are so freaking tight. I think they sound better than they ever have these days.

  • Happy birthday fucker!!!

    43 and hotter than ever!!

  • I can't imagine having a front man like that

  • Anthony Keidis is a queer lame ass scared bitch, Mike Patton is god and a true vocalist.

  • @mamasoydemente123 make that satan - and i agree:-)

  • One of best from FNM

  • shit, tomorrow, here in Chile, FNM will be playing their last show of their brilliant career.

  • Fuck...so damn good live haha

  • ..and if I tighten up my hole you may never see the light again!

  • SOAD owe their existence to this band. In fact, almost any band post '90.

I fucking love FNM, shame they're buggering off again without even making a new album.

  • Fav song from King for a day, Mike puts in several styles of singing into this tune, he deserves a reward, happy birthday fookers.

  • hope mike never dies

  • you need something wet in your mouth

  • @giub81 Doesn't everybody?

  • great fucking song.

  • @billyspiviot

I love that line so much.

  • mui bueno!!

  • Tonight, I'm going to be one of the lucky guys who is going to see them LIVE ON EXIT FESTIVAL IN NOVI SAD...;)...cheers

  • Okay.

Mike Patton - most talented vocal ever

Mike Bordin - best drummer in the fucking world

Billy Gould - best bass player

Faith No More - best band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KIauDka You forgot to mention Jim Martin - best guitarist and beard ever!!!!!!!!!!!

If only he could have participated in the reunion...

  • I deserve a reward, cuz I'm the best fuck that you ever had. And if tighten up my hole and you may never see the light again.

    God I love Mike's lyrics.

  • i'm just happy FNM played Philly in their U.S. shows, to make up for the show they never finished i guess 12 years ago. and they tore the roof off the Mann Music center. tonight

  • What´s so awesome in Faith No More is that you can´t believe that one band has played their all songs. These days you really don´t see such unique sound and versatility from any band. Glad that they´re back! I defenetly hope they would release another album.

  • Mike Patton is without a doubt one of my favorite vocalists, but there are some things about him that I just can't stand. It seems nearly every live performance I've seen of him (especially as the years pass) he does more and more to distance himself from the music he's singing to, whether it be vocally or otherwise; so much so that it's way too distracting and seems to be only for the mere sake of exercising the fact that he knows he can get away with it.

  • Comment removed

  • Jon Hudson - quite capable guitarist incapable of GETTING INTO THE FUCKING MUSIC. Seriously, he is boring as HELL and is lucky Patton and Gould are out front to keep things entertaining.

  • @DottyLomax I always saw him as a session musician although that's still not an excuse

  • You can't compare Mike Patton to Anthony Keidis at all, they are the 2 found fathers to having pioneered the rap/rock formula & being 2 white guys who can scat a million verses per minute, they both have that art of being able to rhym really well, but Patton is far more adventerous, daring, innovative just in regards to what he' accomplished with several other acts other than FNM as opposed to Keidis just runnin the Chili Pepper train for 25 years has done a marvel of a job

  • So glad they played this. Criminally underated album. Happy birthday, fucka!

  • @funkubitch well its a shame because RHCP are great. (well pre-californication RHCP anyway) its only kiedis who has the big problem. All the other members couldnt care less about their frontman's petty feud.

  • @funkubitch Dude I couldnt freaking agree more!!!! His range and style are tops to me!!! Going to see them in Philly July 3rd and cant freaking wait!!!!!

  • yes he is super underrated

  • i havent had a music nerd crush on anyone longer and more consistently than dear mike patton. god, he makes me want to do some dirty things. lol

  • This band is still superior to anything out today, except ,maybe Tool.

  • @maximusdecimus888 my 3 favourite bands (No order):

    Tool: (Introspection and growth)

    Nine Inch Nails: (Fucking Feelings!)

Faith No More (Release that shit inside you out!)

  • pure aggression, love it !

  • awesome version of this song...... mike's wails are perfect

  • Patton it no Human.... Hail FNM

  • Everything is sucks compare to Mike. He is the most of the most...He is the MOSTEST:D

  • Mike Patton and Bruce Dickenson from Maiden and the best singers ever.

  • @antares074 Mike blows him to pieces.

  • @bigdaddyb08

    Hetwho? Patton > ALL.

  • yoooooouuuuuu son of a BIIIIITCCHH!!!

    haha, I love you Patton.

  • this song´s live even better than on the cd... hope i get the chance to see ´em on stage again...

  • SOAD sucks.Even though they ripped off from a great band like FNM,they suck.

  • im not sure who or if one singer can be better or best i just know mike patton can do sounds that no other singer can come close to in six bands

  • Mike Patton is better... bottom line. Serj is a great vocalist but he's not on the same level as Patton. I think that anyone who feels different most likely are just System of a Down fan boys. Any none biased opinion would believe that Mike Patton is a better vocalist.

  • Patton for Ever !

  • @tboneal83 man i prefer patton any day, but the way you're talking makes you sound like a patton fan boy...which makes you biased too...and your point invalidated.

  • yea i may seem like a fan boy. when i wrote that it was after seeing several people write bad crap about patton. FNM is my favorite band and when i see people hate on patton or the band i get kinda upset. lol

  • la mejor voz , increible

    the best

    patton is God

  • You're a fucking moron. Please let me hear you sing one System song in key. Both bands are great so why compare them? The only"rubbish" is the fact that you are allowed access to the internet.

  • SOD are commercial bullshit, I would not expect a twat like you to understand that. And it was not me comparing them, my comment was directed at somebody who was comparing them, you nit-wit.

  • Sorry I failed to realize you were so hardcore and underground. System is awesome and quit using your Brit slang, it sounds stupid. You must like about 5 bands then because under your requirements if someone else likes a band they must be commercial. I wasn't talking about you comparing them "Twat", learn to read because my comment about being a "fucking moron" is for you.

  • Just because a band becomes popular doesn't mean they aren't good anymore. As long as they keep doing their thing and grow as musicians I will enjoy their music.

  • The Gentle Art of Making Enemies is probably my favorite song to see them perform because Patton changes it up each time

  • lolol Serj from system reminds me now of an EXTREMELY LAME version of Mike lol

  • Eh, comparing them is pretty stupid.

  • Well, yeah, they both make some pretty similar sounds, but I always find that Serj sings far different (probably due to his accent). I'm a fan of both though.

  • I've always felt this way about Serj. To me he sounds like a cliché Mike Patton-wannabe. He's not a bad vocalist by any means... Mike Patton is just much better =P

  • Serj and Mike Patton sound nothing alike. I don't know why you would even be comparing him and Mike Patton. They are both great vocalists so it really comes down to opinion. Why is it everyone feels the need to compare evrything and argue over wich one is better? Music is music and System and FNM are awesome bands.

  • While I agree that the general tendency to compare musicians to one another is rather annoying and useless, I think the comparison makes sense. Mike Patton is a hugely influential vocalist, especially in the 90's alternative metal scene

  • FNM should make a live cd of the 2009 reunion tour!!

  • FUCKING OATH !

  • amazing as always.. so glad FNM is back together xD love to see them live <3

  • this song is fucking amazing

  • Best song from their best album.

  • Patton is singing like it is a practice or somethin'

  • 0:26 puffy cantando =O¿?

  • my favorite fnm song

  • awful camera work.

YOU NEED SOMETHING WET IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!

  • man the concert will be fuckin EPIC... just cant wait for going :D

  • echt geweldig!!!!Wat een superstem heeft die man!

  • he 4got lines in this song. its still like one of the best songs by them

  • FUCKING EPIC! So fucking happy they played this song

  • I'm just so happy that FNM have returned!

  • brujeria is a mexican band

  • Billy Gould is one of my favorite and probably the most underrated bass player in the world. Does anyone else think so? If you disagree FUCK OFF dont bother posting me.

  • He also played bass for tons of other projects, one of them being the Spanish metal band Brujeria with Raymond Hererra and Dino from Fear Factory. Dani Filth did vocals for a few songs too.

  • Billy Gould is the reason I bought a bass guitar

  • i agree. he's awesome. my favorite bassist

  • @jrmarrero96 I love his playing and he is also one of the nicest guys in busines

  • @jrmarrero96 Haha...you know someone called "Primussucks" would have something to say about it. Never mind me though, man. FNM pumps though my veins. Coming out of the 80's it was nice to hear someone giving a shit about keys and bass again. Totally underrated...

  • @jrmarrero96 i disagree

  • @jrmarrero96 ....ive said for years why does no one ever bring up his name in thr discussion of best bassists. the man is a god

  • @ruiner0907 It must be the same reason why Faith No More is never brought up in a discussion of best bands. Mike Patton is one of the greatest vocalists, Mike Bordin is a phenomenon on the drums, etc.

Jon Hudson is ok, he's no Jim Martin but then again, who is?

  • @jrmarrero96 saw them live here in brazil (porto alegre) and didn't understand how i never realized how great he is. land of sunshine live just blew my mind. he is awesome.

  • @railander Here are my 10 favorite Billy Gould basslines (in no paticular order) 1. Morning After 2. Zombie Eaters 3. Stripsearch 4. R and R 5. Kindergarden 6. Land Of Sunshine ; ) 7. King For A Day 8. Evidence 9. From Out Of Nowhere 10. As The Worm Turns (I tried to include at least one track from every studio album)
  • @jrmarrero96 his down picking is insane have you tryed down picking the whole thing....it kills your hand espicaly at this tempo

  • @befrankis He uses down strokes only when he plays with a pick, unless of course it's a song with lots of 16th note triplets such as Surprise Your Dead, Real Thing, etc. I try to do the same thing when I play bass. The main thing is to use your wrist only, start off slow and build up from there. He did a Bass Player Magazine interview in the early nineties where he explained all his techniques.

  • useally i i just do alt picking for most things

  • Wish I could have seen them....no US tour, frrt. As far as this song, nothing beats the studio for me....the insane way he sings the final "you need something wet in your mouth" on the album is just unmatched.

  • during this song i was sat on the grass with my buddy mike, drinkig tuborg and singing like a mad bastard. happy birthday...fucker

  • Let's hope :D

  • AWESOME

  • October 27th, FNM in LIMA PERU!!!

  • you fuck, aprende español ignorante

  • you fuck! aprende español animal!

  • Happy birthday, FUCKER!

    Love how he says that.

  • remind me when your bithday is....

  • This performance is amazing. I think it actually blows the studio version on the album away.

  • I actually think their way better live.

it's like the album is the base, and in live they take it to another level.

    It's AWSOME!@#$

Best live show I ever seen.

  • I agree, I was expecting a lot, but they topped that easily. Best show ever for me as well

  • These guys seem really happy and enjoying themselves. I'd be surprised they don't create a new album. This is incredible stuff.

  • AWESOME

  • Mike has a all new energy that he kind of gave up in like 98 when they ended up splitting.. It's like a totally new band..

  • YO SON OF A BITCHHH

  • october 27th, FNM for its first show ever in Lima, PERU!

  • yeah baby :D Dios se acordo del Peru :D

  • Oh, sí!!! Cómo estoy esperando ese día!!

  • I thiink most of the RHCP fans are done with all that now xD

yeah its about time to mostly RHCP are done

  • This song is crazy, I love it.

  • Comment removed

  • Youuuu SON OF A BITCH!

Absolutely electrifying. I'm in awe. There's bands who can't rock a show like this even WITHOUT a 10-year hiatus.

    -OC

  • Tell me about it, that twat is not good enough to be in the same sentence Mike Patton, many thumbs up to you

  • pedazo de tema

AGXANTE CHILE MIERDA! SOMOS EL PAÍS EN EL KE FNM HA HECHO SXS MEJORES PRESENTACIONES!

  • the best band at download by a mile for me. i'm 22 but they'll be hard to beat if i see a thousand more festivals. atmosphere was effing electric. love download and faith no more

  • pedaaaaaaaazo de canción

    nos vemos en octubre Patton!!

  • This record got me into metal.

you lucky bastards getting to see them live. jealous.

  • SOAD is basically a FNM tribute band :D

  • I believe Serj has Patton as a big influence.

  • I was thinking about all these bands getting back together recently and how I found it to be really annoying, but now that I think of really, it's great because the majority of "bands" these days just fucking suck! No energy on stage, crap songs, terrible lyrics and no talent.

Faith No More are the exact opposite. 3 weeks til I see them in the Olympia in Dublin! Get in!

  • Sick of people bitching about Big Jim. Give John Hudson the respect he deserves. Puffy and Billy are one of the best rhythm duo's around who can turn on any style of playing.

One of the most influential bands in the last 20 years is back - so f*ckin celebrate!

  • My all time favourite FNM song.

Was there at the Phoenix 12 years ago and again at Download this year.

  • Mike's face on 1:54 :D

    Great song and great performance!

  • YOUUUUUU SON OF A BITTTTCCCHHHH!!!!!!!

LOL. I love how demented Mike gets during live performances.

  • Mike Paton tá parecendo um cafetão de puta em copacabana, ainda assim, e sobretudo, genial...personalidade forte, como poucos.

    viva FNM!!!!

  • I saw them @ Hurricane Festival this year and it was gigantic !

  • i wasn't there :(

  • I AM WHITE AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH :)

  • I was front and centre for this. Awesome.

  • Finally, i have waited more than a decade for them to reunite again. Now lets hope they do a LP.

  • The greatest thing about FNM is that they never compromise their music, every album is different from each other but w/ that powerful drive! fucking respected these guys since day one, true inspiration and still till this day. my first concert was in 91" Helmet (another sick ass band) opening for FNM on their Angel Dust tour at Roseland in NYC. never missed them or Bungle everytime they came to NY...Long live creative Musicians!! respect!

  • agree

  • Get a FNM tattoo on your forehead

  • Trey Spruance is a million times better than Hudson. Hudson is ok though.

  • uaua, FNM and skate. good memories from me teen age. hope to see you soon.

  • oooo i love it so much. mike is GOD. i was so lucky to be right at the front for this. i wanna see it all again!!!!

  • Yoooouuuuu soonnnnnuuuuvvvvvaaa biiiIIITTTTCHH!!!!

Patton should start every song like that.

Scratch that, he should do any album of just him yelling obscenities.

PROVE IT WON'T DEBUT AT #1.

  • what a fucking belta

  • MIke Patton is god, FNM ARE GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!! FNM for life

  • like a pleasant jolt of strong coffee

I grew up with Faith no more

when I was a teenager - I'm smiling out loud

  • Guitarist Jon Hudson is Freakin Awesome!

    FNM 4 Life.

  • Oh my god, I would've went completley insane during this track...this reunion MUST come to Canada

  • Haha.. no you should have gone to england.. it was fucking sick!!!!

  • Crazy Mike...he's God
