cara muito obrigado, graças a voce vou tocar esse hino do rock. guy thanks so much, now is playng its greatest hit of the rock and roll. congratulations for the job. thanks.
I can't believe all the shit you guys are writing on here, kiko done a class job of this solo and put it up for people to learn, most of you on here just slate him yet I don't see any links to all your brilliant versions ??? Brilliant Kiko but I can do better lol not ;)
I am a Gilmour fanatic, and I have to say that you are definitely the best Youtuber I've seen thus far in terms of capturing the magical fluidity of Gilmour's playing. The bends are so precise! You've obviously spent a LOT of time with this material. It's so hard to make those bends sound convincing without being ever so slightly flat or sharp, or making the pitch bend at the proper, vocal-like manner. Kudos!
man is this david playing ,i cant see his face, this is a good vid i know all the floyd guys that practice his stuff will love this 1,good work dude, love that ending
Your sound is pretty bad. The audio should be up to hide the not amplified sounds of the guitar. Otherwise this is the best cover of Another Brick In The Wall solo I have ever seen. Well done.
Whatever people may say, you are just too good. You made it sound exactly like its Gilmour playing (when I listened with my eyes closed) Great Job Kilo once again :-)
Buttonstreet has a point... You don't need to beat the strings with that solo. It is a soft and very precise solo. You did, however, get the rythms and cues right. You got the note bending REAL good. A piece of cake or not, bending the notes and stopping on the right pitch, takes some practice and yes, talent.... Great job!
Dude, Excellent. Really awesome. I'm downloading this to practice to. One point on your technique (you say you've never had a lesson), when your going for notes way up the neck (20th fret) try bringing your thumb down from behind the neck until it's almost parallel with your index finger. It's a more fluid and naturally loose position for your hand. You don't need grip up there and it'll help you relax. Try it. :)
@DarkFlyder hey, hmm i dont know i just practiced a lot i basically sleep with my guitar, but hell i got a lot to learn still. you know it takes like 10,000 hours to prefect what ever skil you take in
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@DarkFlyder 8 years man....i have been playing for 2 years and a half and this solo is a piece of cake technically. At the moment I am playing Yngwie Malmsteen's solos at full tempo. I never had a teacher, I am self-taught. Cheers!
@gothyke good for you, congratulations! But never forget that music is about reaching the heart, body & soul! Malmsteen is great, but David Gilmour is not about how many notes per second you can pay, but how many hair in your arms that you can lift!! It's good that you are technically skilled, but don't forget: it's not worth a thing if you can't reach the heart of your listeners....anyway, have fun, take care!
@kikoperes1 that is exactly how I learned :) I am not concentrating on how many notes per second I play, I really think that's crap. I put alot of feeling in every note and the quality and clarity of the solos or songs is my musical challange. Thank you for the comment, take care and keep on rockin'!
@gothyke Lol yea technically :p I play for 2 years and this isn't a problem for me either. But i would never say i can play the solo! I know the notes and i can play a nice cover of it, but i will never be close to what gilmour does. It's just about the right feel, the little things in the timing. It's just something you get by playing years and years. Believe me this is some other shit then technique exercises. And oh yea malmsteen sux, it are just notes, fast. No soul in it
@Slashrocks111 Yes what Gilmour does is magnificent....but dude how can you say Malmsteen has no soul in his solos? just listen to the vibe of his solos....check out Brothers.
@LedKenji666 don't be so sure of that my friend :) I've put too much time, energy and soul in my guitar playing to just stay behind and watch others get famous, even so, I don't care if I get famous or not, I live to entertain others with my guitar playing. And kiko didn't mean that, read his comment more carefully and don't throw rude arguments like that....
@gothyke well i am 13 years old and i have 5 years plaiyng whitout a teacher just internet and i play all of zeppelin and echoes of pink floyd and shine on you... and i made this in just my first year wen I just 9 years old remember i can do so many things you dont know i domine the violin bow solo and I never even now i have to say sorry man but if you are playng for try to be better than old the guitarrist remember there is a top 100 guitarrist in the wall and for something we are not there.
@cafm987 I didn't really understand what you are trying to say in that comment but good for you! of course we are not in the top 100 guitarists of all time, you need time and devotion and a really genius creative mind to get there...you're only 13 man...keep doing what you are doing and you'll be great at it!
@gothyke You say this solo is a piece of cake technically. Too bad this solo isn't meant to be "technical" then. You know.. to be really good at bending requires both a very musical ear and years and years of practice, even if bending is one of the first things you learn. Cheers!
@Gothxha you need a good ear in everything you play, and of course, you need years of practice to achieve the perfect clarity of a bend or a note or whatever :) david gilmour and angus young have one of the best bendings and vibratos in my opinion
why should i bother doing it? to prove to you that i can play it? and yeah, i will never sound like gilmour, nor will anybody in the world...gilmour is unique
@DannyInDaHouse post it to prove to us that you can actually play it. Let's see it. Don't comment back, unless you are going to provide us the link to your rendition of this solo.....
i've never seen it played solo before. true to floyd, it has a lot of sophisticated subtleties involved. complex indeed. it's just one of those things where one must have a greater vocabulary with the guitar than with his own language.
Wicked. Thanks so much. I've been meaning to learn that sucker for like 20 years now... maybe I'll take a lesson from you. I like your fret massaging - very Dave-like.
mate at 0.24 all 4 notes are done with one strike of the string on fret 13 b string, double stop style the same goes for 1,02 of your solo otherwise you end up having to rehit fret 13 coming out of the bend as you are doing,, well done very nice playing
