  • the music is COMPLETELY uncalled for.

  • Butterflies are amazing and very beautiful creatures. I never get tired of them flying around the garden. It relaxes me.

  • how long does it take in real life

    ??☼♫♀♪↕◄↕

  • @savanah37615 The process from egg to butterfly takes about four weeks in the summer. The egg takes 7 to 10 days; the larva/caterpillar and pupa/chrysalis each take about 10 to 14 days. In autumn, winter and spring it takes a lot longer (if it happens at all). Peace, Love and Joy!

  • a great Video, also with this musik, thank you for saving, klaus h Duisburg, Germany

  • Sassy was here, that music was perfect...

  • was it in a cage?

  • It was in a box, the caterpillars do not leave the milkweed so they do not wonder off.

  • very nice music choice

  • This video is great and the music is an added bonus. I would love to add this to my powerpoint presentation. Is this possible as long as I give you the credit. You might get more hits.

  • Sure, you have my permission to use he clip if you cite me as the source. What type of presentation is it for?

  • Thanks for all your kind words. This clip is nearly at 40K hits.

  • The music reminds me of that Spongebob Episode...

  • I agree about the music!! Very appropriate choice considering the miracle of the Monarch butterfly's metamorphosis!!

  • omg i have two in their crysilis form, one is black one is green. im so excited because its been like two days since the butterfly has been black. how long does it take once it is in the black crysilis stage for it to emerge?

  • This video is awesom, teaching third graders about the stages of a butterfly.

  • wow nice footage :) great choice of music

  • To see a creature go from larva to butterfly is nothing short of miraculous! FIVE stars, and I LOVE the music!

  • Im in 6th garde and we raise them and right now we have like 10 in chrisilisis or what ever

  • i raise these from the egg every year! its so amazing to watch them grow!

  • A miracle of nature... so beautiful!

  • I once emerged from the planet Crystaliss

  • My fifth grade teacher had some butterflies in the class room and the emerged from the crysalis during class.

  • Good job!

  • LOL the music made it funny xD

  • i love insects! i used to do raise them. (butterflys)

  • how do you do that? I want to raise them too!!

  • Awesome! I used to raise monarch and swallowtails when I was young. Brings back many fond memories.

I love it when they emerge from the chrysalis. I used to let them hang on my finger until their wings were fully filled and dry, then release them. They'd even fly hack and land on my hand again. Awesome creatures.

  • The piller gave birth to a fly...hehe

What a way to go must have been painful as usual :(

  • LOVE THE MUSIC LOL HAHAHAHAHA

  • Anyone know how they make that gold stuff on the cocoon or what it is?

  • haha, it's body looks so big compared to the wings at first. Beautiful!

  • Superb....loved the music you used too.Great Job!!

  • and then it flies away from u with no regret lol good movie

  • Its a Monarch Butt! ... er-- fly. :D Nice vid

  • Lol, I like the music that goes with this. It's so fitting.

  • omg it says insects were harmed during the making of this movie!!!!

  • It says "No animals were injured in the making of this film." The text came out a little grainy.

  • Thus Sprach Zarathustra! I played that song for brass band.

And where can we find milkweed?

  • I have their pods on my patio all the time, Ive never been lucky enough to catch one coming out. That was sharp thanks

  • Love the music...nice editing. My kids love to watch this stuff!

  • That is a REALLY big buterfly, i wish there was somethin gthere to compare it with to see how big it is

  • It's that Climatic music again, Awesome! XD Very interesting vid, haha

  • beautiful!!! bravo

  • Monarchs don't really look beautiful. They're too insectoid. :|

  • That music made me lol when it started wiggling.

  • he'll get those Venture boys yet, mark my words.

  • that music made me think that Godzilla was going to appear and devour the city. I'm glad that didn't happen cause that would be bad.

  • It's a boy!

    beautiful!!!

  • Raised lots of these when I was a kid, when I should have been glued to the idiot box watching Scooby Doo. Also raised black swallowtails and cecropia. Monarchs were the easiest, and the larvae were the most plentiful. I wonder if any descendants of the ones I raised and released are still carrying on their cycles of life and renewal? Thanks for bringing back memories.

  • As a child I remember raising hornworms, often though of as a pest (which they are) the transformation is fascinating to watch.

  • Nice work! I especially liked the choice of music. Monarch is one I haven't time-lapsed yet.

  • I adore that sweet video of the beautiful monarch butterfly! And such a nice score that compliments it!

  • Thank you for posting such a useful video. This is a more complex activity than making a Boeing 787 dreamliner. How? No human can make one cell (let alone a buterfly) out of basic elements and give it life. To find out more about this ultra intelligent being who makes this happen with ease, type allaahuakbar on google, go to the page and click on the skeleton at the bottom left.

  • No human (or god, for that matter) can do it -- yet, but the day isn't far off. Cells aren't made of "basic elements." Basic elements are inorganic. The food you eat isn't broken down into elements. It is assimilated in organic molecular form, amino acids

and enzymes in the case of proteins, for example.

  • Are you saying all these happens by sheer chance? What is the probablity of this happening itself? One in a bazillion may be?

  • Its at least as likely as a magic invisible man in the sky making it all suddenly appear...

  • Who said it happens by itself? Are you saying environment isn't an influence?

  • lol, how can you even exist without an environment

  • wow that must've been so fun to watch!

  • love the music effect! super video!

  • beautiful!!!!

  • thats great thanks
