  • This is great, what a shame people don't see it.

  • I have taken lessons with both Luiza and Noberto... They are both amazing, pushing traditional boundaries of Tango with creativity and innovative thinking. Two of the best teachers I have learnt from.

  • Pulpo is holding back here. He has a lot more moves but chooses not to use them. I love the way he dances to the music.

  • I could see the melody in their dance.. tango is improvisation, this one was a good one

  • bad concept because he has to constantly stare at the ground and his foot to make sure it's positioned correctly. where's the passion?

  • a good leader knows all the time where is her foot, if she is a good follower, no need to look at the feet at all !

    Decime ALBERTITO,QUE TE DUELE???----------

  • Yeah - he came up with some new concepts. But just because you *can* do it due to the geometry of the dance doesn't mean it's gonna look great.

  • I think it's amazing...

  • This is interesting. It's clear, by the responses, that most viewers don't like Pulpo's dance. But more and more important dancers are modifying and incorporating Pulpo's moves into what's becoming the standard nuevo vocabulary. And these nuevo moves are being further filtered into the milonguero style. So the next time you enjoy a leg wrap during some Golden Age music, give some credit to Pulpo and Luiza.

  • @tangolaw Leg wrap existed before El Pulpo thought it was cool to add one in each and every step...

  • me duermo zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

  • It´s awfull and it´s boring. How can anyone think this is new and inspiring? Guess hi´s laughing all the way to the bank. Hi's fooling everybody. I wouldn't dance with him -ever!

  • no te conozco ni me conoces

no me gusto tu respuesta y me meti

    estuve mal

  • Zero postura, alma y personalidad.

  • Not many dancers draw so much comment. Pulpo has invented many of his leads. Many are unique to his style. Also, his follower is strictly controlled with no room for embellishment. But his moves are seeping into tango dancers' vocabularies; there are many good tango dancers that watch and learn from him. Tango is a musical language and like all healthy languages it changes, becomes richer. Pulpo is a voice I like to listen to. Ultimately we each have our own tango. Very glad Pulpo shares his.

  • Pulpo teaches a new concept of movement, and without his creativity and exploration, many of the current gancho and enganche combinations would not be possible. His connection is a concept, and while I dont want to dance like him, I feel that we can implement his brilliant ideas into our very own tango theories, thus creating a more interesting dance.

  • Their depth of musical interpretation is absolutely beautiful.

Watching them dance brightens my day.

  • it is indeed a miracle and a shame this person is going around teaching what he purports to be "tango". the music is not even REMOTELY tango. this is grossly offensive to anyone who knows what true argentine tango really is!!!

  • I truly believe that the exploration of movement to the music is what pushes tango forward.

Anyone who was creative and different, at some point was criticized (Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Matisse, etc).

Without people who take risks, there is no evolution.

So thank Pulpo and Luisa for exploring other avenues, and allowing themselves to be criticized in the name of Tango.

Mary Ann and I as traditional dancers have benefited from many of their concepts.

  • @yamnitskym -- Lets not be so harsh and try to be accepting of the fact that we can and do dance in a new tango style to music that is not really tango. Pulpo is a master. He also dances to traditional tango music, but apparently enjoys breaking from tradition at times.

  • I don't particularly like what they're doing, but this video is just boring, no matter what you think about them.

  • Pulpo's tango, like Piazzolla's music, is another dimension. The creativity is unparalleled and inspiring. Bravo!

  • I watch this video because my friend forward it to me. Unfortunately, this one is not an interesting tango dance I've ever expected.

  • I got email from friend to watch this video. Unfortunately, this one is not an interesting tango dance I 've ever expected.

  • The first responder (giftoffire) either doesn't like Pulpo or doesn't know who Pulpo is. I recommend he/she check out the other Pulpo video here (Pulpo Tango Week), which indicates the respect that the world tango community holds for Pulpo. That said, I thought that this video was not their best.

  • Word. Pulpo and Luiza are fantastic and so much fun to watch. Their type or creativity is what makes their tango so unique and spurs people to learn. Giftoffire probably doesn't even dance or is so conservative and constrained by orthodoxy that he only dances "the basics".

  • Son maestros de la izquierza.

  • I have studied with Pulpo & Luiza for 4 years. They know the basics inside out. Anyone can learn the basics. Creativity & imagination are something unique.

  • it is a miracle this man can make a living doing this, he should ga back to Ba to learn the basics

  • Yo @giftoffire ... Pulpo is a master of the basics. You would know that if you had studied with him or seen his instructional videos. He has just gone beyond the basics here.
