  • Im expecting one video soon of you standing by your rod and your stomach simply exploding all over your peg, every time the video comes back on for a new bit of blog action, your eating lol.

  • nice vids mate keep it up, by the way what catapult do you use? i use a throwing stick but there rubbish for close range stuff, cheers mate

  • i think i may of watched almost all of your videos so far. Cant wait to get back on the bank, tried a night sesh, lake froze over... And thats the Winter months for you, sitting in watching quality fishing blogs ! LOve them :) keep em going

  • lol

you sum up winter fishing nicely pal

  • Hi again Steve once again a great series of blogs i always look forward to your new vids coming on.After last years successful trip to Willow(thanks to you)me and two mates have been thinking about fishing abbey for 3 days (booking the entire lake) is this the water you were talking about in either pt 2 or 3 of this series?? tight lines bud

  • yes and thats the next set of films up for this series so you will get a good look.

  • I remember your last set of vids from Abbey mate, some stunning fish once you got in amongst em!!! really looking forward to it,us northern lads haven't got the stamp of fish you sothern guys have in your vicinty. You make catching 20's look ever so easy,i only did 4 20's last season, mind you my usual water is 80 acres with about 60 carp in!!! ha ha all the best bud and keep them 'BLOGTIME!!!!'s coming. :-)

  • It's all relevant mate. Your catches rate just as highly as mine by the sounds of it.

If you have a water like Wellington Country Park and you have a ticket and plenty of time.....

Well thenyour gonna catch shit loads!!

But it does not mean anything more than the lad who catches from a lake like yours.

Being consistant and having fun no matter where you fish is far more important than the number or size of carp you catch.

So well done on your 4 20'ts mate as each one is a gem eh.

  • brilliant as always. Got any new videos comin up. Im on the bank now not much happenin could do with something to keep me mind awake.haha its bloody cold ill tell ya

  • PART 8 Summer Sessions up soon

    We are off to AbbeyLake:-)

  • Well done steve nice fish great blog keep up the good work :)

  • alright there fella good to see you tuning in still

thanks for the comment always nice to get encouragement eh.

    Have a good 2010

  • well done on superb series of videos, well enjoyed them! just wondered do you use your soft glugged baits as hook baits or do you prefer a harder bait on the hair?

  • If the bait is only going to be out for a few hours then yes else

the hydrated boilies do the job well enough so i go for a hard hooker for the hook bait if its out all night.

  • Thanks again for another great blog!

My local waters are well covered with ice and this is close as I can get to carp action this time of year.

Have you ever thought of heading across the pond to check out some of the wild carp action here in Canada? There is some great fishing to be had in the Long Sault, Ontario area and more than a few 40's in there.

    Cheers and keep em coming!

  • Yes would be nice to go to canada for sure and one day i might.

Glad your liking the films and tuning in cheers

  • I bought some ESP hair braid recently for my KD rigs,Do you Know how to use the stuff? many thanks

  • i assume its fine braid?

tie a loop for your hair then whip it to the hook at the shank i guess bud.

    never use the stuff myself

  • Alright cheers

  • I think i can use it to to tie pop-ups onto rig loops...

They should really give a instruction on how to use the stuff but thanks for help anyways

    Tight lines!

  • Found this

E.S.P. Hair Braid is an incredibly fine Dyneema filament designed to tie extra supple, super strong hair rigs that are virtually undetectable.

The popular use of the "no knot" whipping means that the hair is formed from the same material as the hooklink. When using stiff or thick hooklinks, this can be a disadvantage.

The use of a separate hair which is both fine and supple can help fool the wariest of carp.

Also perfect for tying on pop-ups, E.S.P.

  • Alright cheers

  • what a cracking collection of fish at the end steve.......stunners!

Enjoy the short break..... hope it aint for to long..........lol :)

  • Excellent video mate, absolutely wonderfully full scaled mirror carp as well. I agree about the bream, the slime is annoying and they smell pretty bad =). I was also wondering, i am going fishing at the weekend and im a bit rusty, so if you have any tips to spare i would be most grateful. thanks alot pal.

  • find the fish!

    use a bright hookbait

no freebies just a splosh of slop

fish as light and as fine as you can

    multi-strand rigs work well

    get some winter berry;-)

  • @TheCarpCatcher Thanks very much mate =], and if you want ill keep you posted on how i do. thanks again pal.

mid to the end of feb will be when i get out next so winter carping?

mmmm a bit of a disaster so far:-(

  • god i hate tangles. were the tangles on the fluoro?

  • no the amnesia

  • Hi mate!

As I can see you use shelf life boilies. My question is: do you prefer them against the frozen ones and why?

Do you use preservatives in your baits?

    Thanks! :) 5 star went again!!! :)

  • Ok, the ones in the film are from the freezer but yes i do produce my bait as shelf life and no it has no preservatives in it at all.

I think i prefer shelf life as they are easy to use and keep.

  • grate vid as always and hp frutie sauce good on ya!
