  • Is it okay if I have compression on my vocals in the mixing, and then I had compression to the whole track while mastering? or will that mess some things up?

  • @stayup414 Hmm, that's very subjective, and it's hard to say without hearing it. I would have some of your friends give it a listen, get some feedback, and adjust to taste.

  • I just send mine off to a local engineer ahaha

  • this was a great educational video for me thanks a lot!!!

  • @mmmusicc777 No problemmo, thanks for checking it out! What videos would you like to see from us in the future?

  • @crayzylovely Just drag the "Analog Delay" effect from your effects browser on the right, and drop it on your vocal track! Adjust the settings to taste and you're done!

  • @ColdGripHandle You can change the color all you want in studio one to look like pro tools if you want...

  • its about mastering not how old can u make sombody before they give up.

  • my beat keeps dropping out for a few seconds in mastering,?

  • Hey, Have you guys seen the new Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE? It comes with the FULL VERSION of Studio One PRO pre-installed and ready to go! Check the link below for videos!

  • very nice tutorial...thank you so much

  • HOW WOULD THIS COMPARE WITH PRO TOOLS 9, I'M THINKING ABOUT GOING WITH THE STUDIOLIVE 24.4.2 MIXER, SAW THIS VIDEO, AND AM WONDERING IF TO GO WITH PRO TOOLS OR STUDIO ONE. WOULD PRO TOOLS WORK WITH THE STUDIO LIVE MIXER? JUST GETTING INTO RECORDING AND WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT. WHICH IS MORE USER FRIENDLY??

  • @drek509 Really? U just started and you buy a mixer instead? Man you're rich and naive.

  • @Camido2003 .Definitely not rich, but gotta start somewhere.

  • If anyone can help me out, im trying to figure out why when i record my voice i can hear it, i see thats its recorded and shows the audio moving up and down just no sound? An also how to import instrumentals

  • @RyanJohn100 well the first part eludes me but the instrumentals I think I can help you with. if they're wavs or mp3s then just drag and drop them into a song. it can be from the browse section of the studio or from an open folder. also put a little EQ on em for better sound. XD that should work pretty well

  • is this better than cubase5 ? i use a lot of vst-i and was planning on buying cubase 5,& than came across this. could someone recommend this ??

  • @hayden50 In order to use your own VST's or any plugin for that matter, you'd need Studio One Pro, as the lite version (Artist) only let's you use the built in plugins. Don't get me wrong, the built in plugins are sweet and Studio One just in general looks more polished and modern than any other DAW out there (ProTools obviously doesn't). The built in plugins will keep you satisfied for awhile. Bottom line: Studio One is great. I use Pro and I get some amazing results as a non-professional.

  • @ckgladu thanks...

  • Go to groove3 (dot) com for DVD tutorials.

  • Thank you!

  • When I convert my finished recording project to a WAV file, it only allows for a 5 minute song. Does anyone know how I can make a song into a WAV file that has a longer duration than 5 minutes?

  • why from all my plugins it only recognizes surge?

    it wont detect my plugins!

  • @IsraeliTrancer Check your VST blacklist. Also, do you have Pro? Only Pro will let you use outside VST's. If you do have Pro, Go to Song->Song Setup->Options->Locations->VST Plugins. The scan at startup should be checked. Also, make sure where your plugins are on your hard drive matches the folder on this screen. You can also click reset blacklist. Say your plugin crashed the first time it tried to be loaded, it will then go into the blacklist, where it tells the computer not to load it anymore.

  • @ckgladu

thnx dude that info was realy helpful,i guees it's not a pro version so thats why it wont detect my vsts..

  • i have the audiobox USB but it doesn't show me in the start "create a new project" it only says create a new song or open an existing/// what should i do?

  • @StarGazeBassist

Studio one artist (which comes free with the audiobox) dont come with the mastering suite you have to upgrade to pro for about 200 bucks.

  • To the other drum comment about your e kit. If your module has usb output go out that way if not they all have midi outs. Run that into a midi converter most interfaces have midi ins. then apply the sounds to the pad through your presets on your module. And if you want to use your modules sound library but want more than the stereo mix. Most modules have Lt and Rt main outs but also aux 1 and 2 outs. Pan your kick down Lt, snare down rt, toms down aux 1. and cymbals down aux 2

  • Hello to the superior drummer comment. No matter what Daw software you use as long as your using SD2.0 as a vst, all you have to do is go to where you load the kit on your virtual mixer. load it as the stereo 16 output version. on logic there is a + button that expands the channels. Just name the tracks mix them separtly add reverb comps eq to what ever. im sure the other daws work the same way.

  • Amazing software. But.

Getting repeated burn errors, and nothing but. Disc images aren't recognized by any other tools at my disposal, and the digital export leaves a little to be desired when it comes to setting song spacing etc.

I'd like to be able to set song-start markers etc. myself, rather than have the software assuming things for me.

The multiple failed burns are a very real hassle, and has set my week into a spiral, since yesterdays session is pouring over into today.

  • does anyone now how to put an instrumental track onto studio one artist, thanks

  • Hello, I use an e-drumkit with Superior Drummer 2.0 .Can I record the e-drums with the Studio One in that way that every single drum and cymbal get on a separate track?Thx

  • @triclops8 There's a simple solution. Click on the Mix buttom on the bottom right and all of your channels should pop up at the bottom. Also, just to the left of all that, all of your virtual instruments and midi instruments should be in a list with a little drop down arrow. Actually click the Superior Drummer text once (not the arrow), and a list should drop down showing the different drum channels with check boxes. Check all of them and it makes a channel for each drum.

  • Will Studio One Pro allow me to record my electronic drum kit - then seperate out each individual instrument (trk1-snare, trk2-kick, trk 3-hi hat. etc..). Then using Addictive drums, change sounds, volume, eq, etc.? Or do I get one shot and the drums recorded are all grouped together for mixing? I really need to seperate each drum and cymbal for mixing, eq, and tweeking, Thanks

  • @tholt000 hi,I just need the same answer,do you know more until know about that question?thanks

  • @triclops8 I never have got a good answer. But I believe that the way it has to be done in Presonus is the drums are recorded through midi and each midi mark, (snare, kick, etc..) is recorded. then you have to bounce each track one at a time to an individual track. Then you will need to open an vst drum sound for each individual track. So yes in the long run it can be done, but it will take time to bounce each track one at a time.

  • @tholt000 thanks a lot for your answer.Well,I have to say,I haven´t bought the S1 yet because of this question wasn´t clear to,but that sounds possible!Otherwise, wouldn´t it be possible to connect each drum & cymbal in the drum program with a seperate track in S1 and then playing the e-drum to get each single signal as an independent audio track? That would be enough for me,main thing to be able to tweak the whole kit seperatly in the mix, just like I would have recorded a real acoustic kit.

  • Other than the mastering suite, is there anything different in Studio One Pro considering the extra two hundred dollar upgrade from Artist?

  • Thank you Jonathan! Great Video. Very informative.

    How about that multi-band video?

  • great insight - thanks!

  • Please post every video you make on presonus studio one here so I can keep up to date! Great video.
