  • I have a salt and pepper hedgehog and do u keep all the baby hedgehogs

  • earthling, i am trying to convince my parents to let me buy a hedgehog, how do you think i should explain that they are low maintinence and nice?

  • are the baby hedgehog's spikes softer than of an adult's?

  • @roneLAx a bit softer, but they harden up fast.

  • AWWWWWWW these hedgehogs are sooo cute :)))

  • lol wat happens if she notices that they have been gone for some time dos she freak out?

  • @AnonymousVEVOPERVERT nah, she was ok with me handling them.

  • They look inda big for being a week old.

  • @michaelermcgowaniv well they were a week old when video was made.

  • Im going to get one really soon! I kind of have an obsession with them! Your videos have helped me a lot to prepare for it!

  • @hedgehogsrpeople2 great, I hope you get one soon!

  • I WANT ONE. then make a saddle for it and wear it around and pick up chicks.

  • I have an albino pygmy and she is the sweetest creature in the world. They make the best pets and with most animals you don't really have to work to bond with them. It makes a bond with your hedgehog that much more rewarding.

  • @TheMissMegnificent glad you are enjoying your pet!

  • they look like sea urchins when they are a baby lol

  • @Falador321 lol they kind of do

  • I hope this is just a temporary cage, cause it's messed up to keep an animal that runs 3 miles a night in such small enclosure! RESPOND!

  • @turboslut

He knows what he's doin dont worry!

  • bite size

sadly they are illegal in CA :,(

  • what do you find your hedgehogs, when I get mine ill feed it spike delight

  • is the mom mean when you try to pick them up ?

  • im thinking of getting one but i dont know how much i would need to pay? if you know ruffley how much that will be great.

  • @ThePepsiProject they cost anywhere from $65 to $200+ depending on color and breeder you purchase from.

  • how in the world can the mother give birth to those spikey little creatures?

  • @low91rex hehe, their spikes are actually soft for the first day or so, they harden up after born.

  • @low91rex when the hedgie give birth, you will notice that their hoglet's quills haven't creeped out from their skins yet. I saw once when my hedgie gave birth, her hoglets still have this chicken skinned, but then a few minutes after birth, their quills started growing but still looks like pig's hair (to me) so not that sharp yet. then eventually they undergo quilling until they reach 3months.

  • 2:09 Wait? You can touch them when they're a week old?! If you can then :D I can't wait to touch mine :D

  • hey earthlings1984 why is it now that you are makings just RC vids i like your pet ones

  • @C0Dzi11a about 140qt.

  • he looks dead

  • did you eat them afterwards..?

  • hay if u breed them again how much would u sell them for and would be able to ship them

  • @superfreak150 i think i read somewhere that this is a hedgehog trying to cool off. laying their belly down on a cold spot

maybe the room is too hot or something

  • How old are they when they wean?

  • That one person who dislike this? Try disliking that to this spiky hedgehogs face you asstard!

  • My hedgehog has just had her baby's ( last Tuesday) but she don't let me see them , how long do u think I should wait ?

  • really beautiful video-I had never seen baby hedgehogs like that before...adorable.

  • @etnorskie thanks :)

  • Wow they look so odd as babies. Like little curled up Cacti lol. Very cute. Love how at the end the cockatiel flies over to the parrotlet. Nice birds too.

  • I want to buy one do you sell them if so how much

  • Giving birth to a hedgehog can't be a pleasant feeling. Even for a hedgehog.

  • Can't touching her young cause her to eat her babies? A change in scent and a fear of stealing what's her's or summatlikethat.

  • @CrimsonKumiho It sure can. Luckily I know what I am doing. None of my baby hedgehogs have ever been eatin or discarded by the mothers.

  • @earthling1984 So what do you do to prevent the mom from eating the babies after you touched them

  • how did i go from watching some united states marine corps training videos to hedgehogs?

  • if i were to buy a hedgehog would this type of cage be okay? would it jump out? or should i just buy a regular cage? please reply

  • my hedgehog keeps walking around but like he lays down on the floor and moves his legs like hes swimming or somthing, should i be worried?

    Please reply.

  • @superfreak150 as long as he is eating and sleeping well then you're probably ok. Keep an eye on him for a few days though, make sure he eats and drinks and sleeps well.

  • @superfreak150 sounds like wobbly hedgehog syndrome. Google it.

  • @irefuse2stop i dont think its that. he hasnt done it in ages anymore and he runs/walks perfectly normaly. But i will take a look, thanks ;o

  • Could I buy one?! I've been looking everywhere for one and I mean EVERYWHERE

  • @TheRakist5000 this was made in 2010 ... o_o ...

  • freaky

  • ur cage gave me an idea=]

  • hmm my question would be which is more aggresive? males or females?

  • @Joemerella they are equal in that sense. either is fine.

  • @earthling1984 u have adorable hedgehogs

  • i want a hedgehog now :P :D :)

  • @vampiregirl12234 there is a lot invovlved in hedgehog breeding. If not bred by a certain time, their pelvis can become too small and fused and if you try to breed them later, the mother won't be able to give birth, resulting in her and her babies dieing inside her. There are many other reasons breeding them is hard as well. I suggest you do much research.

  • Hey Earthling just wondering if you can answer this, I have 2 hedgehogs which are both Albino. If they have a litter will they all be Albino? Please answer thanks :)

  • @NeevyPeevy24 There is a chance some will be albino, but it isn't a guarentee. I wouldn't recommend breeding hedgehogs though.

  • @earthling1984 Yeh I didn't plan to breed them but one cage broke and we had to keep them together for a few days and now there is a chance she might be pregnant sooo..Thank's for the reply though :)

  • what a sweet mom.

  • protective mommy, when the youngest that is safe to handle the babies without mom neglecting or killing her babies, if mom did start to neglect the babies how would you feed them and would cow milk in a eye dropper work? lol runs to check on babies when you put the house back in, what a good mommy, also when would you recommend to start breeding a hedgehog i have a 5 month old albino pigmy haven't gotten a male yet, and how do you mark which babies where birthed by so and so?

  • my hedgie just had 4 babies and rejected them all so im handfeeding them =/ they are so lil!

  • must off been a bitch to give birth to them

  • i live in los angeles is it legal to have hedgehogs as a pet?

are they easy to take care of?

    where can i get one?

  • @arepepe Can't own them in California.

  • Comment removed

  • @earthling1984 are they legal in massachusetts if so where can i get one

  • my hedgehog is 3 months old, he's nice but he nips all the time. what should i do?

  • @closer2u616 just keep working with him. Take him out of his cage, but if he bites you, instead of holding him, put him on the coffee table or couch and just be near him for a while every day so he gets more and more used to you being around.

  • I like the little babies also I have an African pigmy that likes to bite candle wicks and the won't bite lots once they are used to you and you handle them correctly if ur thinking of getting one

  • Cute :)

  • @anticonformist1366 Every one has their own personality, but most are very calm and easy to handle. It all depends how often they were handled and how they were raised of course. Their care is similar in the fact you need a cage, food, and water, but their food is much different.

  • what camera are you using?

  • @STiTypeUK I have a casio exilim and a samsung digital camcorder.

  • im considering getting one and i was just curious do the spikes hurt

  • @kadinpwn999 No, they don't hurt, especially once you know how to hold them, and if your hedgehog is nice.

  • @earthling1984 k thanks :)

  • @kadinpwn999 my hedgehogs spiked me a few times to where i have bled, and they do bite-thats worse

  • where do u buy hedgehogs and how much are they

  • @MW2F0RLif3 from a petshop or breeder. They cost between $100 and $200

  • Do hedgehogs eat their newborn likes rodents?

  • @Three1Bravo it can happen.

  • Comment removed

  • can i buy one of your babies?

  • awwww they are so cute i and going to get one what is like yongist they sell ?

  • @hanftaylorl 2 to 3 months old

  • Are they legal in North Carolina? And how much do they usually cost?

  • the hissing noise they make drives me crazy.

  • Whats its name?

  • My god, living pine cones :D

  • What size tub?

  • they are a little over 100 quarts... I forget the exact number as I took off some of the labels. 100 quarts or larger though is ok.

  • So when u said put her on a coffe table to walk around do I pick her up with bare hands or do I use gloves or a towel etc. Last night I gave her a bath and she was very nice she let me pick her up but as soon as I took her out I couldn't pick her up agian why is that?

  • there born on mine bithday

  • heh, cool

  • i have a hedgehog and not sure how to handle her i have tried everything but every time i try to pick her up she spikes and jumps does anybody know any tips to help me if so thanks i could really use the info

  • Should always buy a young hedgehog that is calm and that you handle first... If you get one that is years old, and mean it is hard to change them back. They are like any animal, like dogs even, if raised right by humans, they are super sweet, but if you had a dog born, and never interacted with it and left it in a cage, it would be mean too. Take him/her out of the cage and let him walk around on a short coffee table while you watch TV or a movie. The more time out with you, the better.

  • hey great vid i like watching all of your videos :) and good job with the new litter of hedge hogs they look pretty cute keep up the good work :)

  • Thanks :)

  • very cool bro been thinkin about gettin a hog their just to funny

  • They make really good pets. Just make sure to get a young(under 5 month old) and calm one!

  • i own a hedgehog, and taking care of one is already a handful... hats off to you for being able to take care of all your animals so well...

  • Thanks :)

  • Lol those babies must HURT comin out! Poor Momma!

  • heh. Their spikes are pretty soft the first couple days, then they harder up, probably to help just that ;p

  • What bedding is that?

  • aspen

  • Does it matter what type, right know I'm using carefresh but I want to switch, I bought pine but now I see places that say it gives off toxic fumes. I have aspen snake bedding by Zoo Med from my snake, can I use that?

  • No cedar and no pine. Aspen is good.

  • carefresh is great, but expensive. Aspen is best purchased in the largest quantitiy at the store. I get huge bags of it for $12.99 only. Enough to clean ALL my STO cages, hedgehog cages, mouse and rat cages! So if you have one cage only, enough for a couple months! As compared to carefresh that you probably spend close to $5 each cleaning.

  • Aspen is best you can use others but they do have toxins and aspen is usually cheaper walmart has bags for like $3 an its enough for a 55 gallon.

  • can you use corn cob?

  • ive never heard of that as a substrate lol but it might work

  • dont use aspen it may be cheaper but it will also kill the hedgehog so dont use it

  • sorrey readed it wrong aspen is ok but not cedar or pine lol

  • @geico71 correct :)

  • don't mean to sound like ab idiot but whats a pinto

  • it is a coloration/pattern. Pintos are like the mom's pattern.

  • Congrats on the babies!! The hedgies are so cute as babies lol. They all look just like their mom :P

  • finnaly a new vid

  • awsome !! I've always wanted to keep hedgehogs. how would you rate them as pets?

  • they are wonderful pets. Just make sure to get a calm one from a good breeder. Don't buy one that spikes up and bites(like the mom is doing during this video a bit). Try to get one between 2 and 5 months old also.

  • YAY!
