i love this part. its cool that they decided to film the junkyard scene at the junkyard right across from my grandparent's house. my mom was 19 when this was filmed and got to keep the castle rock salvage sign that they used in this movie. :) everytime i go to my grandparents house i get to look across the street at the junkyard and remember this movie :)

With Teddy and his Dad- it would seem that his Dad goes on about 'Storming the beach at Normandy' and almost uses it as an excuse when he punishes Teddy, eg the ear episode.

It's become Teddy's way of rationalising his father's actions, because no kid wants to believe their Dad's a bad man or a 'loony'.

And it's really powerful at the end with Teddy and his relationship with his father.

This film is just...epic.
