I agree with davesstr... A vehicle with no center diff should not be used on a high traction surface. Not only will it contribute to wear, but the torque forces trying to escape that lead to wear could also cause a loss of traction. Remember, the more you're locked up, the more it wants to bind on a high trac surface and if it could cause a loss, it will also make it harder to recover.
That is why selectables are king. And locking diffs or locking center diffs (4WD) belong on loose surfaces.
I agree with you on the extra grip, but driving a vehicle in 4wd with no centre diff in 4wd on wet concrete is still to much grip and damaging to the transfer case. Glad it ain't my Navara being used in that video.
