Awe, this track is so very touching. That sense of lament, nostalgia, longing, loneliness and regret. I've read through the comments and its comforting to see how it touches people in a very real way. It reminds me of how hard it can be to let go at times.
Such a pleasing melancholy in this piece. I feel the combination of fatal fatalism and searching for meaning in the montage of voices. Is that voice saying "Jesus" simply exasperated or calling for divine help? I like that Paddy can be vivid without resorting to insisting on what we should take from the piece.
love this perfect music and art to fit oh so well

Thanks for this. MacAloon's 49 paired with Hopper: now that's a small stroke of genius.

Such kind words. I was struck by how much PM's piece moved me in the same way that Hopper's studies in loneliness and alienation do@ObtuseMarginal

Paddy's always been a great songwriter. Apart from that though, Sleeping Rough is breathtaking from this album.

I've been telling myself to go and get this album for months, thanks for posting.
The loneliness of the paintings marry very well with the themes in the piece, well done.
