  • Hello David. I have tennis elbow and had switched from using poly to babolat xcel string on my wilson blx tour 90 and kfactor tour 90. It helps and the tb diminishes a lot. I really like the string. But the string itself is not going to solve the elbow issue. I am also going to try x-one biphase. Do you think they help on these kind of racquets in reducing elbow problem?

  • @diablomid From a TE perspective, string definitely helps. X-One BiPhase is not going to be that much different from a TE perspective than Babolat Xcel Power. Supposedly the best string for TE is natural gut. You may want to give it a try since the TE is not completely gone from using Xcel. If your TE still does not get any better with gut, you may want to consider seeing a doc and taking some time off. Take care.

  • THANKS!!! for the help

  • @Chris99video My pleasure.

  • If you already possess topspin-producing groundstrokes with fast racquet head speed, then Luxilon Alu Power Rough will definitely enhance your game. For Lux, I suggest reducing tension by 10% to start. You may have to tweak it from there on subsequent stringjobs. X-One is a fairly powerful string. I suggest going the other direction with it - may starting at 62 lbs. Are you talking about full beds of each string - or a hybrid? If hybrid, I suggest 56 for Lux and 60 for X-One - as you don't

  • @InspiredTennis want to large of a tension differential between your mains and crosses - in order to protect the integrity of the frame. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. Take care. DH

  • Hey David,

Im trying to experiment with some new strings. I just used to use the cheap syn guts like the prince syn gut. Great string but I am curious if another string could make my game a little bit better. I have made up my mind with what strings im going to try first. I am looking at the Luxilon big banger rough and then the technifibre x-one biphase. I am just curious at what tension would be the optimum tension. I use 60 pounds on the prince syn gut.

  • They are probably fairly equal from a durability standpoint. X-One, is in my opinion, the better string. I've played with both - and I like X-One better. It seems to have a little more power and a little bit more crispness. Don't get me wrong, NRG2 is a great multi - I just think X-One has a little bit better playability. Another great multi to consider is Babolat Xcel Power. It is my favorite multi - just ahead of X-One in my opinion. Take care.

  • Hey David,

I am a very serious tennis player looking for gut-performance strings and I was looking at the Tecnifbre nrg2 and the biphase...Which one would you reccommend me? I am a hardhitter at the baseline. I want to know which one would be more durable. Thanks!

  • hi david,

i am a aspiring tennis player. i was wondering do you think babolat or technifibre are better?

    thanks:)

  • @ambersimson Both are great string companies. Both have their own factories in France with top-notch R&D and manufacturing. Both have a long history of making great strings. I slightly prefer Babolat Xcel Power over Tecnifibre X-One BiPhase - but barely. Both are great, high-end multis.

  • @InspiredTennis okay thanks for your help:)

  • Hi David,

I have a lot of self generated power. I recently bought a Babolat Pure Storm GT LTD racquet and have not found my preferred string of choice yet. I have tried Wilson NXT @58lbs, Prince Syn gut with Duraflex 16 @ 58 lbs, Luxilon ALU Power 16 @ 56lbs. I am looking for more power especially on my serve without giving up the control. I was thinking of trying Bablolat RPM Blast @53 lbs in the main and Technifibre NRG2 @56lbs in the crosses. Which is better NRG2 or X-one biphase for me?

  • Hello David.

Do you think mixing babolat rpm blast in main with addiction in crosses would be a good choice to avoid tennis elbow and still have power and spin? i´m using nowadays babolat n.vy+pro hurricane pack, 53lbs, my racquet is a head speed 300.

    thanks!

  • @ferndini Yes... Addiction in the crosses will soften the overall stringbed and could help avoid tennis elbow. Co-poly mains can still tend to be harsh on the arms, so this is no guarantee of avoiding tennis elbow. Some people are fine playing with co-poly strings - and don't have any elbow problems. Other people have problems. Good luck in keeping your elbow nice and healthy. :-)

  • Hi David,

I have a question. I am looking for a string to use that's easy on the arm but doesn't loose to much spin or power. I have tennis elbow right now and i think its because of the strings i'm using. I use babolat RPM blast at 57lbs on my prince O3 original red. I was thinking maybe Technifibre X-One biphase, would that be a good string for me?

  • @cbar414 Tecnifibre X-One BiPhase would be an excellent string for tennis elbow - as it is a soft multifilament. If you want to spend a little more, natural gut would be even better for your arm. However, be prepared for a big difference in play - as both of these will play very differently than a full bed of RPM Blast. X-One and gut are very powerful - whereas RPM is a low-powered poly.

  • @InspiredTennis Thanks for replying to my comment, also i have another question for you. With the RPM blast i had the tension at 57lbs. should i stick with that for the X-one biphase strings or should I string it higher or lower?

  • @cbar414 I definitely recommend stringing the X-One higher - probably 3 to 5 lbs higher. If you keep it at 57, it will probably feel like a rocket launcher - because of the difference in power between RPM and X-One.

  • Hi David, Nice Video :), I have one question, I am planning to have hybrid combination, Alu Power Rough (main) and Xcel power (cross). What is your suggestion? Racket - Babolat Aero Pro Drive GT Team, Tension 58lbs. I am not a big on spin but Alu power helps me to that, but with only Alu power its rough on arm.

  • @jagdish2k3 If you don't really have topspin-producing groundstrokes with fast racquet head speed, then you may not want to use co-poly strings like Luxilon at all - not even in a hybrid. However, if you feel they help you with spin, then that's cool. Assuming you string a full bed of Alu at 58 lbs., then I'd consider stringing your Alu mains at 58 and string your Excel crosses at 61. You, obviously may have to tweak the tensions on your next string job, but this might be a good starting point.

  • @InspiredTennis Thanks David ! for such a quick reply. I will surely try this out and get back to you with my experience. Trying hard to generate tospin which I love to (may be I have to rectify my stroke ).

  • hey david,

i need some feedback, well i recently had tourbite strings on my babolat pure drive strung at 58 lbs. it hurt my arm so i decided to cut them out and the tennis shop gave me some cheap natural gut strings.. this string is strung at 56lbs . They are fine but i just dont get the power i used to get. Im thinking of hybriding a solinco outlast poly in the crosses and putting a natural gut or synthetic gut on the mains. Tell me what you think

    Thankyou

  • @aimfreakify If your arm was hurting with Tour Bite, then I suggest staying away from co-polyester strings for a while - even in a hybrid. I suggest a full bed of a nice multi (like the ones described in this video) or even a better natural gut - perhaps from Babolat or PACIFIC. Any of these strings should be fairly powerful - and you can even improve power a little more by tweaking your tension lower. Hope this helps and hope your arm is feeling better. Take care.
