I really appreciate your videos. Im between Lawrenceville and Buford and my wife and I are considering a Bazooka Prospector.

Have you purchased the Prospector yet and tried it in the Georgia streams?

Im worried that there is not enough or fast enough water in the Georgia streams for it to work properly.

Any ideas yet on how to set the Prospector model up like a high banker on stands and how much water would be needed for the optimal psi pressure to ensure proper operation?

Yes there are. I'm a member of the LDMA and there is a property in Athens, Michigan which is East of Kalamazoo and South of Battle Creek. I'm sure there are other areas there with gold as well, since most of the Northern gold came from the ice age and was pushed down by glaciers. I'm not 100% on what type of gold you have, but I know you do have gold there!

fabric sofener kills suds by the way. Just take an once of it, put it into a 6 oz spray bottle and give it a couple sprays. Works good on your dishwater when you are trying to clean up too.

Quicksand concentrator works the same way. Pipes inject water to create a fluid bed. Only downside is it doesn't have a grizzly to classify the material for you. But at $60 versus $200 I think the Quicksand might be a better buy.

True. A friend on the goldadventures(dot)biz forum board said that he had one, but it got packed during use and was and to clean out. I can't corroborate that, of course. I believe the quicksand concentrator is usable with a garden hose at home too, so there is another plus.

You can kinda tell in the manufacturer's video that he runs it with the box angled at a steep slope. I decided I wasn't going to run right out and buy one because of this. It kinda limits where I would use it, because I don't have much slope to work with...

Still, it's a great invention. I don't know how I, if I were to make one, would overcome that limitation. A wider and longer flare, maybe?

Hi, Mike! Thanks for the great video. I've wanted one of these for awhile, so it was good to it in a real world test from someone not associated with the company.

One thing I read online (in a forum somewhere) was that, the bigger models of these require more slope to run properly. That's because the bigger the trap, the more water pressure is needed to keep the material in suspension. Apparently, just a fast flowing creek won't do that in the bigger models. [cont.]

Yes, I thought that too. I saw the video too and the slope is pretty steep. You can have a steeper slope to run it, but it doesn't require a lot of water pressure to run it. There is a forum post on 49er Mikes Forum called "Fluid bed hand sluices are back" that shows where several people had created similar ones for their dredges. They found that depending upon the size of material, 7 psi was the max they could use. At 7 psi, they started losing too much gold. 3 - 4 psi is ideal.

First let me thank you for doing all this research and putting on the video. That being said, make it much shorter. Use time lapse or editing effects to get the information across, without it being so (sorry) boring. Shelly was a nice touch, a bikini would have been even nicer ( on her, on her!)  LOL. :)

Great video.

You only need a couple drops of detergent to break the surface tension. If you are getting suds, you are using too much.
