im meduim weight ish 13 years old strong legged and 6 foot tall, ive been trying to do high jump but only got to 1.35m flop, has anyone got any tips for me to get nay better because i put myself down for sports day to do it as no ones any good expert at it so i have a chance, thanks ;)

In Australia, we have Little Athletics. They seem to promote a "scissors only" policy for training kids from 8 up to ?

Flopping is considered by some misinformed people in this organization as being too dangerous for kids to do.

Any ideas from other high jump coaches outside Australia ?
