in real life. it's not that i want to be unfair but i don't listen like i sometimes should but this cartoon still has some good memories like fruita mansana :) :D ^_^ ! ! ! ! !
I find it amazing that these lessons that are taught on Sesame Street to kids, are the same lessons ADULTS need to apply into their everyday lives! When I first seen this clip as a child, I never dreamed that this scenario of people not listening to each other in the adult world is more the rule than the exception! Maybe adults need to start looking at Sesame Street and learn a thing or two! It's no wonder this show is still on even after 41 years !!
When you are a teacher you meet this kid every day. You can tell this is from back when Teachers made Sesame Street and not a bunch of gay guys who like kids. scary.
Funny. Something similar to this happened to me today. A man pulled up and asked me the way to the community college. I told him it was a bit of a distance, then, being a guy who often has trouble giving directions, I slowly pointed straight and said rather uncertainly: "keep going'... but that was as far as I got because the man simply nodded and drove off.
I remember this clip from the 1980's when i was a kid. the part i remember was the guy saying" you can't miss it!" lol my older brother told me this was from the 1970's!.
"Go--" "Okay, GO!" One of my favorites! Love how the elephant never bothers to listen beyond the first word, talk about impatient! Reminds me of my kids.
It sure did sound funny. I guess that elephant was very anxious and needed to get to a zoo very badly to live in which is why he wasn't listening to the man. (Maybe he was a very tired and hungry elephant which is why he wasn't listening to the man give directions to the zoo since maybe the elephant really wanted the zookeeper to give him food and a place to sleep).
Good point. Still, the elephant did realize that a few seconds listening would have saved him running back and forth. Maybe the park guy took him home?
That's true. The elephant probably decided to listen and be more patient since the guy told him at 0:36 to listen. That also might be true that the guy on the bench probably felt bad that the elephant wasn't allowed to live in the zoo, so maybe he helped him find another zoo for him to live in.

I would've said, "Listen to me fool! or I'm not going to help your dumbass!"
This exemplifies Sesame Street: short attention spans.

The pleasure for me isn't just the fact that the elephant is jumping, but it's the music that goes with it. It truly captures the moment...

The humour is ALL in the song.
I've been looking for this one for a little while actually.
I like how he hops...
I write this on memory...I haven't even watched the clip yet.

If anyone could post the "5 Elephants Drinking Thirstily" cartoon song, that would be great. It was a take on "The 12 Days of Christmas".
This was funny...
Ermaco74 4 years ago
That's exactly what I was looking for. It was actually "One elephant drinking thirstily", but as I recall, it did go up to five.

Oh wow, I saw that clip maybe once in the 1970s and I found it hilarious. Yes, if anyone can find and post it, I'd love to see it.
