  • Uranium contained in a typical reactor is not enriched to a level that makes an actual nuclear explosion possible. Weapons-grade Uranium is 90% U-235. Reactor fuel is only about 4% U-235.

  • guys everyone knows that nuclear power plants are dangerous! but we need it for survival we cant live on raw materials all life we need the power plants or the materials from earth will disapear too fast! we can remove a little bit of the nuclear power plants but not completely maybe in future... the sun will still kill us all when it comes to be a red giant.

  • At GodH... (can't finish your name), Fossil fueled depletion into an over heated world is your only other hope, unless we learn to bypass money, yes money, and have the robotic arms mass manufacture ALL the solar panels, and ALL the batteries the world will ever need. Still, there is dim hope with that once all the energy payback and growth scenarios are taken into account.

In the meantime, abolish the stupid LWR for the better closed cycle as explained below.

  • NO! ,because there can be as many different nuclear reactor designs as there are people).

NO! , because not all such design are intrinsic, some require high pressures and are VERY ineff at converting matter into energy...

    Guess which one?

NO! , because some designs fission almost ALL the fuel at normal (non turning water into gaseous hydrogen bombs) atmospheric pressures.

NO!, because such molten metal or salt, non solid fuel reactor designs also spit out WAY LESS wastes that last 1,000th as l

  • a reactor can never be a nuclear bomb however It can go prompt critical. Basically the core jumps thousands of degrees in milliseconds causing the reactor vessel to explode and shoot rods everywhere

  • Well then stop bitching and finish developing nuclear fusion.

  • "Reactors are nuclear bombs", is an understatement. Take for instance Hiroshima, nuclear bomb goes off and people and the place recover, in time. Yet if any nuclear station goes into meltdown/melt-through, then the whole land surrounding it, 100 mile radius, and this radius will be unable to recover for thousands of years!

  • This whole "nuclear" thing was the worst thing that happened to Mankind, the Nuclear Nightmare is far from over, in fact, its probably getting started. It is now known that the atomic criminal Oppenheimer was the main leak because he (and many others) wanted the Cold War to happen, just like its well known that the technology-transfers that made the USSR a nuclear power were possible by "super-capitalists" that know exactly what their doing. Search "Antony Sutton" on youtube

  • splitting matter is illegal, put em together-make the new torch...

  • Nuke power plants absolutely will not explode in the manner that nuke bombs are claimed to explode ( they are not going to destroy a city ). Watch this ---- type into the youtube space : UC BERKELEY PHYSICS NUKES

I even think this lecture helps you to realize that nuke bombs themselves are a hoax, in that they will not explode with the force that is claimed, based on your understanding of all of the laws of physics, both classical, and modern.

  • END the ENERGY CARTELS and their dirty politics.. ENTER ALTERNATIVES.. HEAL THE EARTH.. WE OWE HER THAT MUCH!

  • I want to hear Piers play a Chopin Etude, check out his long fingers!

  • The safest nuclear reactor designs are the high-temperature gas-cooled reactors using carbide-based and nitride-based nuclear fuels and nuclear materials, and cooled by pressurized nitrogen or helium gas w/c are inert. Especially hafnium carbide materials that remains a hard and strong solid at the melting point of tungsten and can kill a chain reaction almost instantaneously when used as control scram rods and bottom grid baffles and uses passive convection cooling designs. Why no news of it?

  • Historically, a nuclear reactor was successfully designed, tested, and built (and used by the militaries) using MOLTEN PLUTONIUM AS NUCLEAR FUEL in the US using hafnium alloys that can indefinitely hold it in it's molten form while liquid coolant metal passes through the reactor using passive convection, conduction, dissipation colling systems wt/out needing pumps all. Why this news was not exposed yrs ago until the present time is intriguing to us Russians who also possesses such a reactor(s)

  • The best nuclear reactors uses hafnium carbide control rods & scram rods for hafnium is a nuclear quencher! In the early yrs of the nuclear industry, problems in starting nuclear reactors using zirconium alloys as a construction material persisted until it was discovered that trace amounts of hafnium are literally killing the nuclear chain reaction before it got a chance to start. Hafnium carbide remains a hard and strong solid past the melting point of tungsten, thus it's used in army reactors

  • SUPER FULL MOON: On March 19th, a full Moon of rare size and beauty will rise in the east at sunset. It's a super "perigee moon"--the biggest in almost 20 years. Get the full story from Science@NASA.

  • First, military reactors must be close-looped emitting no tell tale signs of radiations and heat blooms for that's a give away of their presence. Second, military reactors were thoroughly researched and designed and built to withstand a near nuclear direct heat ranging from 20 to 50 megatons w/c is worse than Japan's earthquakes. But for civilian use, that's a no, no. Only the military can use them but not you ordinary folks.

  • It seems you civilians are most uninformed, both US and Russian military reactors were designed for such eventuality but such technologies cannot be shared with you for they're reserved only for military use. We have such reactors under scientific R&D for yrs and had them mass produced for military use. Civilians are the most, unfortunately, uninformed of the most advanced technologies that can make this planet a paradise but then it is up to the MILITARY to decide for their release.

  • If nuclear reactors are bombs then my car is a Jet powered vehicle, my kitchen is an industrial steel blast furnace and my television is a global visual and audio security and surveillance monitoring device that can be also used for inter planetary and galactic space monitoring. ALL IN SLOW MOTION OF COURSE.

  • @DAILEYericCaryUSA dick head there bombs all right.

  • @cutforth1 I do not feed internet trolls. Cutforth is an internet troll. That is all.

  • BULLSHIT!

You need weapons-grade U235 (at least 95% enriched) to produce a nuclear explosion. If a nuclear reactor ever blows up the same way a nuclear bomb does I will eat a bucketful of tapir excrement!

  • @Hairysteed So that giant mushroom cloud that eviscerated #3 & sent some 40 years worth of spent fuel rods (including plutonium) a thousand or more feet into the air didn't happen? If you stupidly repeat the lie that it was a hydrogen blast when it was clearly a dirty brown shroom cloud and not an almost invisible blue blast, i.e., the hydrogen explosion signature, I swear I'll reach right through the comment section of YT to perform a full frontal lobotomy on your wretchedly ignorant ass.

  • @HyperIndividualist well said my friend

  • @HyperIndividualist All nuclear explosions on Japan happened on August 1945

  • @Hairysteed You're such a genius I'm compelled to plumb the depths of your mind.Tell me the difference between radiation released via nuclear bombs & radiation released by nuclear power plants. Moreover, tell me how an explosion at a nuclear power plant can refrain from damaging essential equipment while simultaneously releasing no dangerous radiation? Also, prove that "minor" radiation ingested today won't turn into cancer a decade later. Please let us all revel & bask in your fathomless genius.

  • @HyperIndividualist do u have the answers to all those questions, your tone tells me you do- so spill the beans...

  • @SovereignBeing They are rhetorical questions w/ obvious answers. Those that can't figure it out are beyond my help. Some want to quibble over semantics while clinging to 66 years of absurdist propaganda.Others recognize mega-catastrophes when they see them. Some want to stupidly regurgitate the delusional claim that 'only' a few thou died because of Chernobyl, whereas others recognize the true body count over decades is around a million. Thus do madmen play Russian roulette with all of our lives.

  • @HyperIndividualist No, but I will tell you that had there been a nuclear explosion at the Fukushima power plant there would be no more Fukushima let alone a power plant or reactors left to be cooled down - just a big glass crater. Not even the Chernobyl accident involved a nuclear explosion because NUCLEAR REACTORS ARE NOT NUCLEAR BOMBS!

  • @Hairysteed Thank you.. so sick of the idiots who think that a fission explosion is possible at a nuclear powerplant in an emergency.. the only things that are possible are meltdowns or criticality incidents; nuclear power plants by their very design are incapable of causing a fission explosion.

  • @Hairysteed

    bomb [bom]

    n (plural bombs)

    1. explosive projectile: a missile containing explosive or other destructive material

Now shall I define 'nuclear' for you? You have massive explosions at Fukushima, which happens to be a nuclear power complex. Hence the "nuclear bomb" term Corbyn used.

  • @HyperIndividualist You're really stretching the definition! You know what a nuclear bomb is!

  • @HyperIndividualist ~ U mite have a pnt ~ c how it goes

  • @Hairysteed "With the exception of specially designed research experiments, prompt-critical assemblies are only used in nuclear weapons. Their inadvertent creation is the cause of many criticality accidents." - wikipedia

It's now time for you to eat those tapir turds.

  • @HyperIndividualist So nuclear fuel in criticality accidents "explode" the same way a nuclear dud "explodes". Not good enough!

  • @Hairysteed That is a very good way of putting it ! And, if fact, "nuke bombs" are just the same thing as the worst case scenario for nuke power plants, IMHO. BEFORE the test ban treaty, there was an effort to convince the public that radiation was not a problem, and that it was all blast. But now, the public NEEDS to be afraid of nuke bombs, so the radiation issue is really hyped up and exaggerated.

  • @Hairysteed ~ if U & hyper-I ~ R related ~ we should nuke U soxxy hide ~

  • @TJae1 What?!

  • @Hairysteed ~ HyperIndividualist ~ ya'll deserve 1 another (maybe)

  • The elevated spent fuel pools have also been compromised by the explosions.

Israeli dependents and non-essential embassy staff removed several days ago.

  • @ryanshaunkelly says it all would you not say get the f*** out

  • @cutforth1

    ie Helen Caldicott MD

  • Notice how he says this 'coud be insufficient' and there still could be an explosion. Video was taped on the 14th and by the 15th there was another explosion. Maybe we should start listening to people like this instead of the "experts". Just a thought.

  • @lordhadeswelcomesyou to right my friend.

  • @chenneygottagun - Actually what he says is, that the Global warming brigade says that these earth quakes are caused by global warming. This statement is false. Not that global warming is false you twit. Global warming is for real, the question is; is it caused by man, just a natural occurrence or a little of both? Confucius says get your facts straight then you can mess them up all you like.

  • @chadsteele1 If one cares to do the research on Earth’s climate and geological patterns, the ‘true’ science proves that everything is cyclical, coming in tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands and millions of years. That is the nature of the Universe; global warming is the same – cyclical, having nothing at all to do with man’s impact on the Earth. The Al-Capone Gore’s of this world, including all the global warming harlot scientist are into the money-spinning aspect of the industry.

  • @dawes777 total right my friend.

  • Storing spent fuel on top of the reactors also proved to be a brilliant idea.

What happened to those basins when the buildings exploded? If they are exposed and without sufficient cooling the fuel rods will start reacting and catch fire causing a nuclear fire.

  • What an idiot, nuclear reactors are not and can never be a nuclear bomb, it's outside the laws of physics.

  • @keithrs59

really? so tell me why scientists were worried about the core melting through the concrete base into the mass of collected cooling water that had leaked underneath it, they were worried about a blast that would have left a crater somewhere between 10 and 40 kilometers in size.

chernobyl, two guys dived into the radioactive water in diving suits no other protection and released the drain valve, they died less than 12 hours later. heroes. reactors can be bombs in uncontrolled events.

  • you're the man, Piers! Didnt realise some AGW fanatics are now saying the quakes are a result of climate change as well....*rollseyes*

  • lol nuclear reactor a nuclear bomb? so much misinformation from this guy

  • @JohntheJammer He is actually right if your chemicals science

  • Thank you Doctor for being a professional and a man of integrity. Your work in the various fields has helped us to know more about the truth, and your wisdom has helped to educate us about the evil fraud which is "Global Warming."

Thank you Doctor, and God Bless You Sir!!!

  • continued from previous comment... to reactors full of tons of dangerous isotopes in reactors that can never be guaranteed 100.0000000000000% safe to the disposal of waste from those reactors which will be dangerous for the next 250,000 years and could easily fall into the wrong hands or released by natural disaster... nuclear power is for morons and pathologically insane scientists that believe perfection may be attained...

  • only un-educated MORONS and over-educated ego-maniacs that believe they are all powerful and perfect believe that nuclear power is "safe, clean, and efficient." the simple fact is nuclear energy is inherently dangerous on a global scale from the beginning of the mining and refinement cycle which releases radon gas and radioactive mine tailings into the environment to the proliferation of enriched nuclear fuels in an ever increasingly hostile and volatile world of rogue governments and groups

  • Nice upload, thanks Piers

  • Im not a genocidal environmentalist but I do say that Nuclear power is not safe as Japan has just proved as did Chenobyl etc. Cold fusion however is safe and should have been patented long ago, and we have the power elite to thank for that not happening. Google "COLD FUSION" Youtube it as well.

  • @ilovemymum777 lol you believe in cold fusion? Any experiments so far have been inconclusive due to results being so close to the detection threshold. Any labs that tried to replicate the setup and verify the results.

Now you might think nuclear is unsafe and believe all the fear mongering in the media.

I can tell you that our Australian coal power plants by far release much more radiation into the atmosphere in the form of carbon 14 and thorium etc.. Not to mention the soot and CO2.

  • @ilovemymum777 I'm more of a realist. I like the ITER project. Fusion power might be viable only in the large scale and Europe isn't pussyfooting around. ITER will be able to output on the order of 1 terawatt of clean, safe fusion power. Once the experimentation and learning process is over, fusion power will become a cheaper and more viable alternative.

I wish cold-fusion worked. At this stage it hasn't been conclusively observed or is so weak it isn't useful.

  • Totally agree, hold all the lairs to account..

  • Lies against humanity, eh?

Jeeze, The Jews wouldn't like that!

  • @NookulerFreedom Humankind would not be facing this tragedy if the IAEA had focused on inspecting safety of real world power stations instead of wasting time and resources looking for bogus "nookular weapons" of Iraq and Iran to justify wars of conquest for Israel.

$14+ TRILLION dollars wasted to cover up Wall Street thugs, frauds and bogus "wars" could have been spent on safe power stations instead of murdering Millions of Mid East people.

BTW, a plutonium explosion is not "propaganda".

  • If Humankind is truly witnessing it's Shakespearean Tempest then it's been a long time coming. Parasite identity thieves pretending to be "leaders" would need to be reincarnated Millions of times to adaquately serve their well deserved prison sentences.

  • He has Sangheili hands..

  • keep in mind that many of these "experts" are radical anti-nuke people masquerading as an impartial commentator.

  • @dgl1962 Keep in mind that you are an idiot.

  • @jeffman3003 Keep in mind that you still haven't refuted my comment.

  • To call people against nuclear bombs radical, is equivalent to calling an apocalypse paradise. The only radical here is you radical in terms of having no common sense or logic or reason. Lets hope you die of radiation induced lukemia and die a miserable slow death. Then I want to see if you call these servants of humanity radical?

  • @jeffman3003 I didn't call "people against nuclear bombs radical", my point was about those vehemently against the nuke electric industry and nothing to do with "bombs".

  • This guy talks with his hands.. be careful if your a female talking with this guy because you will have your breasts fondled as he talks.

  • @omegafile Not only that but that boy got some big ass hands.

  • Genocidalist Environmentalists to misuse Japanese nuclear catastrophe to destroy nuclear industry revival and to stop nuclear power from spreading even it is still the safest power source. They wanted to prevent these 4th generation and 5th generation failure-proof nuclear reactor power plants from being constructed to prove they are safe because these genocidalist environmentalists are using the "the boy who cried wolf" situation on a brainwashed and dumbed-down public!

  • @darthvader5300 - the only brainwashed one are you. May you and people like you soon find themselves being hold responsible for this catastrophe behind bars

  • @ibisibis11 It seems you civilians are most uninformed, both US and Russian military reactors were designed for such eventuality but such technologies cannot be shared with you for they're reserved only for military use. We have such reactors under scientific R&D for yrs and had them mass produced for military use. Civilians are the most, unfortunately, uninformed of the most advanced technologies that can make this planet a paradise but then it is up to the MILITARY to decide for their release.

  • @darthvader5300 Amen bro.

When ever you're dealing with energy you can expect dissinfo. The reason for this is the establishment sees energy(like oil) as a instrument of control. Plus it could be that such energy threat their field of interest. Good, cheap and reliable energy would be a disaster from their point of view I'm sure. They want us to pay a lot for our energy. They want us dumbed-down AND broke etc...

  • @darthvader5300 so we arent at risk from a nuclear reactor in a country prone to earthquakes then>?

  • @darthvader5300 What colour is the sky on your planet?

  • @darthvader5300 ..."failure-proof"....

    WHO TAUGHT YOU THAT NONSENSE?

Color of the sky in YOUR world, please?

  • You must be a lunatic if you think that nuclear power is safe. It's actually morons like you who are "genocidal" because you would rather our planet were destroyed by industrial and nuclear waste.

  • @peterandrews111 Your comment seems to be out of context, as it appears you are replying to someone's previous post, but no name!

  • @peterandrews111 Nuclear power has resulted in less death than hydrogen and coal energy. It's the safest and cleanest method out there besides wind and solar...and those methods are simply not advanced enough to create enough energy.

  • @thatsmyaibo heck out Orbo,Bloom Box, Wave Power, Freeebergy Zero point sytems. we dont need nuclear fuel this is just a way to keep us enslaved to the evil cabal by charging us for fuel,Tesla had the answers.

  • @peterandrews111 ABSOLUTELY AGREE. Two books i would like to recommend "Nuclear Power is NOT the Answer" - Dr. Helen Caldicott "GREEN: Your Place in the New Energy Revolution" - Jane Hoffman/Michael Hoffman

  • They are not informing the public that these reactors are decades old, built during the COLD WAR in haste thus creating an unavoidable situation which could have been avoided if given enough time to redesign all nuclear power plants' elementary components to be shock mounted and redesigned to be passively cooled and replaced by 4th generation reactors which will be able to withstand such natural catastrophe unscathed.

  • or, a really small head

  • Lollllllllll

  • has anyone noticed that this guy has got really huge hands?
