Do you have a retailer in Canada which sells the wand for a reasonable price? It looks like a really cool gadget, and looking for these sweet gizmos in Canada is sometimes difficult.
@XxLyNtxX Thanks for your interest! We don't have any retailers in Canada yet, but any suggestions of who we should try contacting would be much appreciated. In the meantime, some of our US-based retailers, such as Hammacher Schlemmer, are pretty good at looking after Canadian customers.
omg im so buying this so when i go to school, i can keep flicking the lights on and off or when were watching a movie on a TV i will keep screwing around it will be hilarious!
@TopherDanielTV It's the same, wherever you buy it, and the wand is made by us in all cases. We started out just selling from our website, but we've now got around 100 resellers around the world.
Where can I buy one of these? I want one as a christmas gift for my Harry Potter crazy daughter! I love the idea. The closest thing to real magic since the Wii. ;-) Well done!
@megan8madonna kinect and ps move if ur looking for a better "magic" experience with a console, the wii was good when it came out, now there are better products out there
I got my kymera yesterday as a bday gift from my bf.I absolutely LOVE it.Its not a perfect remote, cause its not the purpose. You dont only have a beautiful wand in an awesome box,but you can also actually do something with it besides running around playing.I think it's a great idea AND perfectly made.Every detail pulls you more into the wizardry atmosphere.Even the manual sheets. And the wand has a heartbeat vibration while casting or programming.Opening the box and feeling the beat is dreamy..
This looks like a nice gadget, but the description says it has 13 gestures. Let's say:
1/2) Volume (rotate left/right)
3/4/5/6) Arrows for menus (flick up/down/left/right)
8) "OK" button for menus (tap)
7) Power off (pull back)
These are surely a minimum so I won't need a remote control. But that leaves only 6 gestures! 10 digits are needed to choose arbitrary TV channels. Or are we supposed to assign a "Power on" gesture and then use 33 "Next Channel" gestures if we want to see channel 34?
@lerkistan The Kymera Wand wasn't intended as a full-functioning replacement for existing remote controls, but rather as the first wizard-style wand that can actually perform real "magic" by controlling things at a distance. So you're correct - 13 gestures aren't enough to do everything you need to control your TV, but it's enough to have some fun.
@TheWandCompanyLtd Thanks for the quick reply. I'd rather only use 1 remote control - I'll see if I'll just reprogram the RELEVANT channels to only use digits 1-5 (this would allow for 5*5 channels and an additional button I'm sure I just haven't thought about now).
Of course it would be cool if the wand supported gestures similar to what you can do with your mouse cursor in Black & White II. That would allow for a large number of gestures which would surely look better than "tap on your wand".
So i watch you guys on dragon den, love the idea of the product, but my main question would be, is it compatible with all electronics, or just some brands?i couldnt find anything on the website, as its infuriatingly hard to navigate(and thats coming from a web designer). hows it looking for getting the ten percent back btw?
@ahenderson666 It works with almost all brands of home entertainment equipment that use a standard infra-red (IR) remote control, except for B&O kit. Thanks for your kind words - it's early days still for the deal with Duncan, though.
excellent, will be ordering one soon. Im sure you guys will make the sales you need to get it back, Duncans a good guy(being scottish thats to be expected!!he!he). The new HP movie, as you mentioned on DD, would be the ideal time for pushing the advertising, so i recon if played well, your sales should rocket. Keep us posted on how your getting on, and i wish you all the best.

Nice quality and weight and surprisingly quick to get the hang of - our boys (5&7yrs old) are going to LOVE it!
