there is a thunder 50 at my store but i really hate the shared gain. Is it worth to save up the extra 200 euros? Im not very rich, and saved very long to get an amp and a thousand bucks is a shitload of money to me :( I was also looking at a fender amp but im going to need to boost the hell out of it to play stuff like Death

Hi! Is the screamer good for progressive metal like dream theater, symphony x and so?the riff you play at the start seems "as I am". Some people says the screamer is good just for black, death and trash metal becouse of his high frequencens...what do you think about it?Thanks a lot!

They most certainly do make Great AMPS. I just bought a previously owned ENGL Screamer 50 head. WOW!!! What Tone from those 4 channels. I have mine running into a 4 x 12 MESA BOOGIE Rectifier Cab (Traditional Vintage 30 celestions) Un Freaking Believable. OZZY, and Lynryd Skynryd in ONE AMP!@!! Well worth the $500.00 I paid. LOVIN IT!!

it's another sound-style... the Thunder is rock, rock and rock and the screamer is everything from blues to Blackmetal^^... joke.. the screamer is more brutal i would say..

I miss my ENGL Screamer, got one for £300 a few years back and had to sell it in a pinch. Mega-doh.

Anyway, just wondering, do you have different pickups in that PRS CU 24? I've tried both the stock HFS/VB set and Dragon II's in mine and they've both been terrible, no where near as good as the Bare Knuckle Pikcups and Duncans that i'm used to.

Made me seriously consider selling it...

There is a separate presence control for the lead channel so you can still have a difference in EQ between channels- go for it :D

Care to share you're settings on your Lead channel though? I recently bought a Screamer and I'm still figuring out the sweet spots on the EQ.

to be honest the EQ is pretty flat, maybe the lead presence on 4 and treble on 4, for my leads i use an mxr carbon copy which is a superb sounding pedal - a PRS helps with nice tone a lot too to be honest :D
