Usually I don't like to watch movies at all: If there is even one little pesky thing in a movie, I don't like a whole movie (I know, its stupid, but I cannot help it....). I thought for three years that I won't waste my time anymore to any of the movie. But then, I saw Titanic and my heart just broke, 'cos it was absolutely wonderful! I can't realize how some thing in this world even can be as perfect as Titanic. <3 I LOVE TITANIC!

Did you do any research ? Cameron created the characters, there was a J Dawson aboard but he was a part of the crew and the J didn't stand for Jack, it was coincidental on Camerons part . J Dawson is buried somewhere in Northern America but the characters are fiction . Rose was based on multiple women aboard, and the woman they speak to in the movie was an actress .

I doubt there will be something like this on cinemas again. You had to book 2-3 weeks before getting tickets, it was as if every person went to see it. Also, people went to see it over and over again, crying every time. It seemd to top the cinemas forever. I can't say I saw such hysteria with Lord Of The Rings and Hatter Potter, nor Avatar. With Titanic it was different... It seemed to be in another class, one on a higher level.

You no what sucks? Is that there were so many opportunities for the ship not to sink. Messages were sent to the titanic warning it of ice bergs but the crew ignored it. Plus, each life boat had a max of 70 people but only 25 were loaded on to each boat. Of coarse there is the story of a ship that was seen in the distance from the sinking but never responded.

I think the movies where Titanic sinks from the iceberg are being done to death. Why not make a Zombie Titanic movie where Titanic got invaded by zombies and with the only logical solution would be to sink the ship using a time traveling WW2 U-boat. Come on this is a fiction movie, not the documentary on the History channel. The movies doesn't have to be a historically accurate

I mean, what rich snob falls in love with a poor man after just 2 days. I'm sorry, I liked the movie, but not the horribly cliched love story. This movie had just so much wasted potential, and its sad to know what this movie could have been.

@sSketcha It's true that the love story is a cliched but it's not completely unbelievable. Take into account that they are very young and naive and hence are prone to fall in love fast and passionately like idealistic people do. It's clear that Rose was severely unhappy with her life so she saw in Jack the opportunity to be free. The real question is if they'd still be so madly in love years later had they survived. Which leads us to another movie, Revolutionary Road. Oh the irony.

I know that Avatar has grossed higher than this but I think that Titanic will ALWAYS be a better film - the best film ever!!! The fact it is so amazing is that they have depicted this tragic true story in a way that it can bring a tear even know!!! Incredible film.

PS- 99th Anniversary on April 15th this year - then next year the Titanic would have been at the bottom of the ocean for 100 years!!!
