Please help, when I try to format my Kingston 8GB SDHC it says unknown capacity and the only  FAT file system option is FAT (Default), please help.

and what i've read the best sd card you can get for the wii is a 2gb. this is probs why it doesnt work for you

@glowstacker Sorry you can't make it smaller. You need to buy a 2GB or smaller card. very small ones, like less than 128MB won't work. Sorry

on the sd card it should have a tab that says lock so put it on the unlock state and it shoulndt be write protected

i could not get my sd card to format from just stickin the card into my laptop so i placed it in my phone and it formatted to a point where the date was deleted then i connected a usb made for my phone to computer and open program within my computer right click format fat32 when 2 bars to the end i get error ..windows unable to format any ideas how to complete the change from fat to fat32 .. i'm workin on firm 4.2u

it was working before. and i installed the homebrew channel. But then i had to install the WAD's. but the homebrew channel stopped working so i decided to delete everything and start over.

But now the sd card wont work.

When i put the sd card in another device like my laptop it works ?

@markcamp62 Try Formatting it to FAT32. Remember to back up your data first.

@markcamp62 Is your sd card SDHC? What firmware do you have on your wii. Try making a directory (Folder) called "Private" without the quotes.

@thetommantom Look for a little tab on the left side of the sd card. It should say "lock" make sure that it isn't on lock.

I was going to my friends house, and I copied some save files onto my SD card to take to his house, so we wouldn't have to restart the game. The SD card worked on my wii, and it also worked on his, but when I tried to put it in my Wii, the wii said it couldn't read the device inserted in the SD slot. The SD card was never put into a computer, only the two wiis. What happened?

@WeavileTheWhacker Try this if you can. Plug in the sd card to your computer and format it to FAT32. Once that's done, plug it onto tour wii and se if it works.

@TheRatMaster Are you sure that that is your sd card? Try removing other peripherals like a flash drive an ipod docking station or anything that plugs into a usb port/sd card reader.
