horrible album.great musicans but weeeak songs. a 'mid point between test for echo and vapor trails' could only be horrible. rush haven't written a great song in 20 years...tragically. don't know what happened really. no edge any more..
I took the album for what it was worth. I wasn't expecting a Rush album when I bought it any more then when Alex's Victor came out. This album got me through the lengthy hiatus between albums during Neal's mourning period.
I just bought this album and Its AWSOME!! I wouldnt mind seeing sme of these tracks live during a Rush Show but that probably wont happen and most people probably wouldnt want that.
the first track kicked my ass, unfortunately the other tracks all bored me. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance but after that first song, the rest was a let down
BetterTasteThanU, no, Geddy Lee rocks, U sux worse than a dead monkey on mosquito juice!!! Ha I hav no idea wat I said except that Geddy Lee is awesome. Goodbye mosquito juice driking dead monkey.
this album is an excellent&perfect example for show ho is the mind behind rush =D!! sound like rush, Geddy´s bass, but isn´t here u can see ho write most part rush`s songs, thanks!!! for upload this men, is a rare pice of art :3!!
It's Geddy Lee, so musicianship is guaranteed at an incredibly high level.
Maybe I'm biased but I've never heard a duff Rush album, I've loved them all & I love the solo albums Geddy Lee (& Alex Lifeson's too).
I hope they just keep it coming, I love their work whether solo or as Rush (I hope Rush go on for another 40yrs.......sorry guys but if Beethoven et al kept producing quality there's no reason to retire from the lifelong love affair with music) .
@glennorange Well, the thing is that when he released this record, he said that he didn't want to make a Geddy Lee record that sounded like Rush. He wanted to make a Geddy Lee record that sounds like Geddy Lee. Personally, there were only two songs that I didn't really like quite as much: Window to the World and Slipping. Other than that, I thought it was a pretty solid record from his own unique style.
@glennorange I really doubt that its his worst work. Most people don't know about Rush's break because of Neil's losses, therefore most people don't know about 'Victor', the planned 'Victor II' that Lifeson dropped and then Neil's practicing with Buddy Rich.
"It's always a thrill to me when you get in the realm of great players to push "Record," sit back and just watch Geddy Lee be Geddy Lee. There's no one like him."

Grace to Grace is my favorite song on the album. I also really like Ben Mink's guitar work.

Thanks for this video - I love this disc. It's definitely not Rush, but it's ALL Geddy, and as a bass player, I like that :)

I am really sorry for uploading this TERRIBLE video. Truly, this is Geddy's worst work.
I am assuming that's the case since it's been watched 1,400 times and ONLY 11 PEOPLE LIKED IT!!!!!!!!

such a misunderstood record. i will admit to it lyrically lacking, but musically the perfect middle album between test for echo and vapor trails
bassplayer1138 1 year ago 4
@bassplayer1138 MFH and Grace to Grace were really the only songs that moved me, but as a whole I enjoyed the album.
I really wish they'd do a song or two from Headache and Victor; Neil has included samplings from his outside projects during drum solos...

@bassplayer1138 Agreed: IMO "Moving to Bohemia" is the best overall song, with the strongest lyrics.
