Im from Ca, Bay Area and their was a report acouple years ago atleast 5 High Schools where somebody duck taped a needle in the soda machines so when you happen to reach for a soda you got stuck by a dirty needle with HIV infected by it. IDK if in USA is the same, but in Europe(including ex-USSR republics) when someone is positive on HIV test medics are required to communicate the results ONLY to patient itself in verbal form. That means noone, except infected person, knows, hence he can continue to spread AIDS.

I suggest let district doctor know the results and patient data so he can take him/her under controll and inform others!
