My house was fine.... when i drove through downtown cullman and 278 the next day i literally cried... this was definately a lot of damage and heartbreaking
Tornado in Cullman, April 27, 2011 was EF4. Copy and paste below into browser and it will pull up Alabama Tornadoes Paths with official ratings.
media.al.com/spotnews/other/503Tornado.pdf
Cullman, AL per 2009 Population per census: City of Cullman: 17,302, Cullman County: 81,778. This does not include the thousands of illegal immigrants in the city and county not reported in the census.
Over 300 dead in Alabama alone, close to 400 total last count across the south. I was in the path of the one from Tuscaloosa, it passed through there and into Gadsden where I was at the time. A very scary experience and we only got the outlying windgusts of the thing.
no problem at all. I became fascinated by them when I was a child but part of their allure was my intense fear of them despite living in PA. No doubt they are terrifying but the more you know the safer and more accepting you can be. Stay smart, stay safe this year.

@TheOrangelover101
research them, do not chase them. Chasing would only heighten your fear, tornadoes are not a "stand up to it and it will go away" creation.
