I wonder what he has to say about votes not being counted ? Paul supporters shouldn't ask for a recount or complain about that because it's fair ? Why when people question bullshit they are ridiculed ? Thats why this world is where it's at now because people are too afraid to change or they are too afraid to speak up.
@Robdee999 Who cares about the vote. Paul doesn't. All he cares about is subverting the vote by planting delegates and ignoring the will of the people.
@inademv So it's "subverting" to follow the rules and amass delegates. Ask each State why they chose to do non-binding caucuses, don't whine about your own rules when we operate within them.
I mean it's not like we're registering dead people, voting twice, rescheduling votes but not allowing those votes to be counted, losing 8 counties worth of votes, reporting 0 votes in places a disliked candidate won, etc.
@ProIndividual Yes, because it bypasses the vote of the people showing who they want to be their nominee. But idk why I'm trying to explain this to you, you're the same party that was behind Bush v Gore and you didn't care about the popular vote then either.
It'd be funny how solipsistic you are if it wasn't so fucking pathetic. Paul hasn't even had negative ads run against him and is still doing the worst.
He answered the question he said "yes its unconstitutional but no its not something he'll work to get rid of in office". People are upset because he kept pressing him on it to make him look extreme and turn people off.
@cookiesnmilk1 So if it's unconstitutional but he isn't going to fix it then how can you expect him to fix any of the other unconstitutional things he said he would fix?
@inademv Well, if something is unconstiutional but none prioritize - you know, something nobody really give a damn about... Would you attack that first, or say "look, we got priorities, this is not one"?
@therrydicule No, because his stance is strictly a "constitutional purist" one and the cornerstone of EVERY argument he makes is that everything should be constitutional. So if he is identifying something that is in opposition to it, not working at once to rectify that situation is a dereliction of your principle.
That fact doesn't bother me because I already know that Paul is just a huckster, it should however bother you who don't believe he is.
@inademv "it should however bother you who don't believe he is." -> wait, are we speaking about a politician? Playing the constutionalist card is just playing "who get the biggest dick" without showing it, it's meaningless and everyone doing probably have the equivalent of "a small one." That's how I see it, so I'm suppose to believe what?
@therrydicule I was assuming that you were a Ron Paul supporter given the way in which you responded to my previous comment. If this is not the case then disregard this response. If it is the case that you are a supporter of his, how does his constitution thumping mesh with his deliberate decision to not seek to rectify something he claims is unconstitutional.
I agree that reasonable questions should be answered but this guy was pretty clearly trying to "trap" Ron Paul into stating something so they could EDIT to portray as extreme. The media does that. I'm going to side with the RP camp on the issue of the media because by in large the media IS corrupt and distorts the message by their agenda. Most media does not have integrity like TYT and the issue should not just be ignored. Its a MAJOR problem.
If we restore freedom to this country, prosperity will flow from that freedom as it did in the begining. Where there is prosperity there is less need for people to be dependent upon government for social programs. If I was more wealthy I would be able to, and enjoy helping those around me with their needs. Helping other people is one thing that makes life fullfilling. The government takes away the freedom to help others by stealing our money and giving out as they see fit. This is dehumanizing.
Mark Halperin is a Goddamn cocksucker and i want to watch him die under my tires!Fuck you halperin you fucking bitch ass pussy gayboy!!!Go kill yourself,no fuck that...Come to my neighborhood and get your head split to the white meat.Eat a dick you piece of human waste,i feel sorry for your children you faggot!!!!!!!!!
LOL, guys look up Jon Stewart and skipping Ron Paul that is so funny to see, and it's so true. They literally skip over him when talking about potential candidates.
How come I feel the electoral college is going to make Mitt or Obama the president.

Ron Paul supporters have a legitimate beef with the MSM. You , yourself have pointed it out on numerous occasions. However, Ron Paul takes the high road, and rightfully so. Him complaining would be a trap for everyone to label him as a whiner and more easily discredit him. It doesn't change the fact that the media and establishment are afraid and will do everything to stop a Ron Paul Presidency.
Support your candidates by questioning their strength AND weaknesses.....Zombies follow them blindly....still Ron Paul would be the best choice for president....as he would stop the growth of gorvenment and uphold the constitutional protections of the people.....while the other candidates and the current president offer the forever progression towards tyranny....government stacking their powers by stealing them from the people....
Ron Paul should have had the balls to say that he want's to get rid of Head Start. Don't change the subject to the Fed. Halperin asked about Head Start, not the Fed. Paul wants to cut things he calls "unconstitutional". All politicians get asked what gov't programs they want to get rid off. From a local mayor, to a state governor, even a presidental candidate.
Halperin is trying to set him up by asking him about Head Start. But Paul should have been honest and said "Yes".
@kupigana As Ron Paul said he explained himself quite clear. Eliminating head start was not on his list of things to do. He mentioned the Fed because that IS on his list of things he wants to get rid of NOW, but he admits that it would take time. Halperin wants the listener to think that If Ron Paul is elected President he will end Head Start NOW. Paul explained that we need to grow our way out of these type of programs because he understands people are dependent. He was honest
Ron Paul diffused this guys attempt to make him look unreasonable, something that the media routinely does to him, especially hack journalists like Halperin.
The reason Paul supporters don't like Dana Bash covering him is because she, a supposedly impartial journalist, said that she's "afraid" of the fact that Ron Paul will continue to do well and go on to the convention.
Our country is being controlled by a partnership between certain huge Corporations and Big Government which benefit from inflation and unnecessary war. Ron Paul is the only true candidate that deals with the issues facing America. It's time to take our country back. The federal government should only benefit the individual by protecting individual liberties and should allow the free market to determine economic success or failure.
it's not Paul, it's us. i would like to see a different perspective of the news. CNN, FOX, MSNBC, I like ya'lls show (or i like the idea) most of the time. ( could always improve ) Can anyone ( who doesn't live in NY, or Washington ) truthfully say that a lot of "msm" interviews with Paul are polite? how bought respectful? am i gettin this right? no one but "PAULBOTS" think the coverage is unfair? I think most of the candidates would like a little nicer interview.
Cenk is wrong on this one, as he has been on many issues lately. Fighting media bias belongs at the center of Ron Paul's campaign. Media bias is one of the main things that has got us where we are. CNN, etc., have long supported everything that Ron Pual is opposing, including the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. BTW, I don't think I speak as a "Paulbot," being Canadian.
@bumfire007 Uhhhhhhh....... They only asked him 1000 times, he gave his answer plenty of fucking times in 2008 and 2011/2012, when this internet black out shits done with google "ron paul's response to newsletter" I mean its pretty fucking simple to educate yourself about such matters.
Paulbots- "Any criticism of Dr. "let em die" in any way, shape, or form is un-tolerable!" "How dare anyone expect him to account for the details in his radical positions in the same exact way everyone else running for president has!" Ron Paul 2012! "White Power! White Power! White Power! White Power! White Power!"
Yea man I'm a Ron Paul supporter but he has been fuckin up lately, He needs to have a lil bit more patience. He's letting them win with what he's doing.
You know instantly if TYT is going to say anything remotely negative about Ron Paul simply by looking at the likes/dislikes bar... It seems that the Paulites can't handle criticism.
The problem with Ron Paul is that he seems to think that any proposed legislation not specifically mentioned in the constitution is unconstitutional when in fact, & correct me if I'm wrong, they are only unconstitutional if they actually contravene something specifically laid out in the constitution. It's a list of what is prohibited, not of what is acceptable. RP seems to have it arse backwards.
@tvsinesperanto I think that the issue comes down to the 10th Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
That lays it out pretty specifically. Unless the Constitution says that the Federal government (i.e., "the United States") can do something -- they *can't* do it -- it's reserved to the states or individual citizens.
What about the well established precedent of implied powers? Doesn't that give the government scope to pass legislation on things like health care & many of the other things that Ron Paul objects to?
Also, what about Paul's claim that things like paper money & income tax are unconstitutional? Both of these, IIRC, are explicitly covered in the body of the constitution & in the 16th amendment respectively, not to mention implied. Surely these are constitutional?
@tvsinesperanto I think there are some things that fall within the range of the constitution that Paul objects to on other grounds. I don't think his objection to income tax is that it's unconstitutional - rather, I think that he believes in a small federal government that simply does the limited things that the Constitution mandates.
My understanding isn't that he objects to paper money per se, but rather objects to money that isn't backed by gold or silver as bad monetary policy.
(cont'd) (2) As for things like health care, education, social security, etc., I think his position is that, while the federal government has extended its role into those areas, and nobody has objected, that there are no implied powers in this respect and that the 10th amendment, in fact, explicitly forbids it.
Quite simply, it amounts to a federal power grab, just as the President sending troops where he wants without Congressional support is an executive power grab.
I'm going to disagree with you Cenk. I tend to agree with the ron paul group less than you do, but this was an attempt at media spin, and ron paul is clearly not taking it any more. He already answered the question, and then the guy re-phrased the question all over again. it was a waste of everyones time.
Cenk, Ron Paul DID answer the question. Why do you make it look like he didn't answer it for at the end of this clip? He said he wouldn't get rid of head start right away, but ideally, he would. That was the whole "magic wand" comment he made. He answered it.
In contrast, all the media wants to do is get a sound byte they can repeat over and over and smear him with.
Frankly, any reasonable person should side with Ron Paul on this one, even if you're not a supporter.
unfortunatelly, im not with u mr Uygur... they keep asking him the same questions adding some misleading extreme side to his ideas... not going forward in any other direction in any of the fox interviews. They do it to depict him as a fanatical loonie so they dont question him for his answers but to make a point or to state doubt... i would be bugged to.
Imagine a question like are u a man? yes i am... are u shure ure a man?
all the gop very little politics and to much show...
@txusicB While this is true, FOX news does paint Ron Paul into a man of extremes and liberal policies, all the while, at times, this is exactly what Ron Paul is.
The question at this point was a very simple one, would he eliminate a particular program simply because it was unconstitutional, especially one as helpful to communities as "head start" for children. Ron Paul decidedly side stepped the issue instead of addressing it head on.
@txusicB Many of FOX New's questions are simply asinine, but in this rare occasion the question was a very valid one, and one that many voters would want to know about.
To criticize Cenk after pointing out the fact that he wouldn't answer the question and stick wholeheartedly to his position is far fetched. Eventually RP did get around to answering the question, but it was only asked several times, because he wouldn't answer it in the first place.
good point... but he clearly states (2:34) the fed is unconstitutional but my decision ISN´T to close it down in 1 day, my decision is to give it competition and expose it for what it is and audit the fed and work on a better monetary system... im foreign, my english is limited but i got it the 1st time... no need to rephrase the question to make theyre point!
i work editing, news anchors and such KNOW that fan viewers who watch them, never hear answers from ideology adversaries.
Halperin is an inconsequential Republican spokesman. Most of Paul's policies would be disastrous to both the domestic and international economies, but you can't deny his 2nd place showing demonstrates his support has grown beyond his highly dedicated original following
@manonthemount WRONG because he's predicted every major financial disaster of at least the past 10 years, and Austrian economics beats the socialist crap we have now as the USSR proved socialism doesnt work
@restate123 the Young Turks are unbiased.... this is the very first video i have seen from Cenk criticizing paul.. its good to cover both sides. im a ron paul supporter too doesnt mean you have to praise his every move
@restate123 Because he questioned your preferred candidate, you suddenly don't like him?
Cenk has been critical of all GOP candidates and the current President, being objective & calling them out on everything he see's that is wrong with their policies and positions. Ron Paul hasn't gotten any special treatment.
The question was very reasonable, and the fact that RP sort of side stepped the issue shows that he is afraid to lose voters due to his position. Especially ones effecting children.
Yes it is a perfectly fair question, he gave him a perfectly fair answer and Halperin tried to take the answer and make it seem extreme. Paul said he wouldn't get rid of it immediately but would try to phase it out. WTF more do you want?
Ron Paul supporters were critical of Dana Bash for saying on Live TV to her husband John King " I'm sure you talk to other republicans who are worried as well, just like I am, that Ron Paul will continue on long into the Spring... nobody thinks even if he does will here in NH that he will ultimately be the nominee."
It wasn't about shaking some womans' hand or whatever. Get the facts straight before you post your you tube video.
Listening to this I have to wonder if Ron Paul actually understands the meaning of the word 'unconstitutional'? Again he's saying every federal program under the sun is unconstitutional, while consistent for him, is still incorrect. Secondly though and more important in this case, unconstitutional means that it is against the constitution thus cannot legally exist. So anything unconstitutional should be when possible be stopped ASAP, not continue for this 'transitional period' he's claiming.
@lonelytrixter In addition to the issue of if a program is constitutional or not, Ron Paul isn't giving a straight answer here. He can try and explain his background reasoning if he wants, but he still seems to be trying the standard stall tactics to avoid saying clearly and concisely that he would eliminate Headstart.
Cenk wants it both ways. He complains about RP followers attacking the press, then he calls Halperin, part of the press, "the biggest hack". So Cenk can attack the press but we can't?
FY2014 Budget, submitted by President Ron Paul. Spending Request for Head Start -- $0.
Congress appropriates the money for Head Start anyway. President Paul signs the budget. Life goes on. Or, President Paul vetoes the budget. The veto is overriden. Life goes on.
He answered the question but the dickweed persisted to get a quote It is unconstitutional but low on list of priorities of things to talk about getting rid of. If he had his way programs like Head Start would have never been necissary in the first place.
....This guy is an idiot, what do you mean you'd abolish Head Start? That's fucking up the poor once again. The kids living under poverty need fucking help with education.
The problem is that is the only question that Halperin can come up with? With all of the other problems with the entire US... To dwell on something like that is STUPID... As for Dana Bash she came out on TV (or let slip) that she was worried about Ron Paul's success... It's NOT HER JOB TO TELL PEOPLE WHO TO VOTE FOR! She is supposed to report on Paul campaign NOT TO TRY AND PORTRAY IT IN A NEGITIVE LIGHT! She should be reporting FACTS and not trying to set up gotcha questions…
I am disappointed that Ron Paul didn't have the balls to tell Halperin, "Yes I want to abolish Head Start. " It's not like he would have lost votes from the Ron Paul acolytes. Paul doesn't have a problem bragging about all the things he wants to get rid of to create the "perfect free society". I guess little kids need personal liberty too.
The middle of an election campaign is the best time to pick on every little thing we hate about the candidate who would end the wars, after all, who cares if another ten, or hundred thousand brown people die, those Ron Paul supporters obviously don't have their priorities straight and are overreacting. Oh, and when those brown people do die, don't pin it on me Paultards, I was standing for principle, plus the perceived threat to my pet programs trumps any real threat of war. Now go die for me.
Romney is as much a criminal as Gingrich. Ron Paul is probably the ONLY republican that isn't going to take us to war against Iran. Obama is a puppet. I voted for him because I believed the hype. Since then, I've lost more freedoms than under the Bush administration! I wouldn't be surprised if he follows his republican leaders to war. His recent recess appointments is the first thing he's actually done right in my opinion. We need change. The only real change I can see would be Paul.
You don't get it, Cenk.. Ron Paul DID answer the question. And then the media hack then made a statement that Ron Paul would get rid of the program Paul just said was NOT on his list to get rid of, and that he would be for saving some of the programs UNTIL they can ween themselves off it. WTF??
Question: Cenk, you wanna stop the wars and let the terrorists win?
Cenk: I do wanna stop the wars, but I wanna do it slowly not to harm the troops.
@TheGiantRobot I don't have all the answers, but I have more faith in Ron Paul than a bought off politician. Ron Paul's idea on monetary policy might not your choice for fixing things, but he deserves a chance to try. I just checked out this yahoo article written about the Paul "threat". There were politicians that were talking about Paul's refusal to sell out while serving in Congress. Integrity should count for something sir.
lol when RP is the second in line you know these (R)s are on the ropes bad. he's the nuclear option. he's the guy that makes community college philosophy majors creme their pants.
@Moionfire That's kinda overblown. There are several entities that can assume additional responsibility. There wouldn't just be a void. In fact, they would assume more responsibility because it would free up more resources for states, cities, families, churches, charities, neighbors, communities for education. This is beside the fact that centralized spending of resources is inefficient.
@nativemrv19722 You realize the Constitution was written to RESTRAIN the government, right? Libertarians are not anarchists, that is a misconception that is utterly ridiculous. Government is a necessity for society. Government should be small and unobtrusive. The Constitution was written to keep the government off the people's backs, explicitly detailing the duties of the Federal government. What is written they are allowed to do. What is not written, they are not allowed to do.Simple.
@nativemrv19722 well most of the social programes are relly against the constitution and are destroying this country if america would have stuck to the gold standerd and have not created all these social programs like social security we would be in a better possision today and still have most of are civil liberties and if obamacare is passed well you might as well say bye bye to whatever rights you have now and say hello communism!!! becuase thet will give them more power to controlle us
@montanaman20 Crap, I cleared my whole RP Bingo card on that one.
I'm sorry, but the gold standard would have crippled us, giving us a boom/bust economy tied to a commodity with no inherent value. How are the social programs unconstitutional? And how are they destroying America? How is Obamacare communism? How does it take away any rights? How does social security take away civil rights?
@montanaman20 You're crazy if you believe that all social programs should be done away with. And this country wouldn't have been better without them. Just because some people get on a program and milk and don't try to get better doesn't make it a bad program. Guns kill people should we ban all guns? NO! Every one wasn't born having good luck all the time. This programs were made because we care about our people of America.
i would like to state i'm am a recanted paul supporter who is reluctantly supporting him because no strong progressive candidate will run against obama. but he made it very clear. head start is unconstitutional in his opinion but it's low on his priority.
Are you crazy the press needs someone to stand up to their foolishness should we start a debate about media affairs and the rules that govern the so called free press? Seems like there is lots of cleaning to be done in that room as well.
Its sad, whether Ron Paul or any other republican gets in office i can kiss many of my freedoms and many other things goodbye. Head start is an important program witch gives children who cant afford mainstream preschool and gives them the chance to grow mentally. Here is just another case of Republicans trying to weaken the middle and lower class by destroying our educational system because as we all know ignorance is bliss
I myself voted for paul in the primary but I am getting sick of these paul supporters who give negative ratings to anything that simply questions him. You can always tell when cenk doesn't kiss Paul's ass 100% because the video gets bombed with dislikes from Paul supporters. Talk about a cult.
Proposal: Paul is deliberately hitting the media to point our their general pro-establishment bias. Evaluation: Perhaps he has overreacted once or twice, but overall, as a strategy, it makes sense. I hope he keeps at it now that people are paying attention.
Don't like Halpern...but it is the media's job to flesh pertinent information from the candidates. I am not, would not, could not be so much of a fan of any man or woman, living or dead, where I think they should not be vetted in some way. Overall, I do like Ron Paul (not sure if I will vote for him at this time), but his positions are important issues seem to be a mix of the good, bad and the ugly. Unfortunately, so many of Paul supporters wish to bury the ugly parts.
@ttzz2003 Paultards clearly have a cult of personality going. Not saying that every ron paul supporter is apart of this but its obvious that many people can't take reasonable criticism of their main guy.
Here's quick check to see if you're apart of the cult of personality: Can you disagree with any principle that the person you support has expressed? If yes, than you're a reasonable person. If no, than you're definitely at risk of being apart of the cult of personality.
@Occupyman You think it helps your cause by calling them Paultards? You don't think that just adds to the divisiveness in this country? People that follow liberals like Cenk are smart, but people that follow Ron Paul are in a cult? And you wonder why you get some much flack from Paul supporters?
@Occupyman u dont know the meaning of cult , its a cheap shot . paultards ? what are u 5 ? libtard , people support ron paul because he has a record of standing up for people
not ur prick obama who had goldman sach dick so far down his throat
@naym2011 I do know the meaning of a cult. I said something specific though. google "cult of personality" Its not the same as what people traditionally think of as a "cult" in general terms.
@Occupyman ok slight different in cult of personality but ron paul supporters dont idealize, most supporters dont agree 100% with him on fiscal policy , but agree with him on civil libs and monetary policy . its not a cult, people have many disagreements with RP but its all about changing the status quo
@naym2011 Cool, if you support Ron Paul but admit that you don't agree with him 100% then you're not a Paultard. Paultards are the ones that lurk around the internet and attack anyone that believes doesn't commit their support for Ron Paul. There's still a cult of personality surrounding ron paul which is obvious to me but not everyone is in that camp.
@naym2011 Also, I would like you to note that people call Paultards are not the same as ron paul supporters. Paultards are of the cult of personality.
@ttzz2003 valid negative points not this bullshit by cenk
the media is evil, it lies promotes half truths and has an array of tactics to manipulate the public. so if ron paul is harsh with them so what..when u ask stupid question , ron paul will give you a tough answer
cenk is just part of the media establishment, upset the ron paul does not kiss the medias ring, their is no such strategy as he makes out
Ron Paul does not take a pension from Congress, the man is a legend
@naym2011 i'm not saying which comment about ron paul is valid and which is not, i'm saying ppl need to be open minded and work together. shutting down all criticisms regardless is not helpful.
Saying "I'm open to questions" then answering with "Ron Paul is always right" isn't good. He is Definitely better than most politicians, but that doesn't make him Jesus.
@nihilistsneedhugstoo The Civil Rights Act does not outlaw free speech. It outlaws discrimination based on race, sex, color, religion, and national origin. So u can spout prejudice all you want; u just cant discriminate based on it.
Dont u think outlawing discrimination is a good thing for the country? If not, then explain to me how discriminating against Jews and women makes our country better!
@ViciousOneWon You don't think people who are extreme racist/bigots still don't find a way to discriminate without it being blatant? I agree with other poster that most people don't like extreme bigots(i say extreme because really everyone is a racist/bigot to a degree) and would choose to do business with them anyway. Also women's rights has actually increased in more discrimination against men.
@ViciousOneWon you can't legislate people to like each other. I don't like gay people and I say that with no shame. If someone is an open gay I would not hire them.
@ubermisogynist The Civil Rights Act does not outlaw racial hatred. It outlaws discrimination based on race, sex, color, religion, and national origin. So bigots can hate Jews all they want; they just cant discriminate against them.
At this time I do not believe it is illegal to discriminate based on sexual orientation. So what ur point, bigot?!
@ViciousOneWon I believe he voted against the Civil Rights Act because of his concern about government being allowed to dictate what can be done in someone's private property. His reasoning was that you can't legislate morals, so allowing the government a power it didn't have before does nothing to correct the bigot plus opens a precedent for government interference. I don't agree, of course, but I don't write him off because of that, especially since he is not a bigot himself.
@nihilistsneedhugstoo Thanks 4 the thoughtful reponse. I appreciate a person responding with reason rather than trying to justify racism.
IMO, this issue is like free speech. We have that right, but its still illegal to yell fire in a crowded theater. We also have the right to private property, but its still illegal to discriminate in places of PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS. Why? Because its good 4 the country! As proof I present A HISTORY BOOK! Look at pre- and post- CRA. Its like night and day!
RP's stance on the CRA is why I don't like him: he takes the first nine steps correctly on an issue but fails on the last step, which leaves him advocating a truly dangerous view.
He is wrong on the CRA because if a black man steps into a whites-only diner demanding service, it is the police which would have to enforce the diner's "right" to have racist policies and arrest him for trespassing. Our institutions should not be doing such things.
I don't understand the "progressive" philosophy at all.. Why does the government get to take people's money and just throw it into all sorts of shitty programs when the entire economy's about to collapse? Why is government money paying for head-start anyway, I didn't even realize that happened.. Isn't free k-12 enough?
Reading the comments from all the Ron Paul apologists makes is pretty hilarious. SO much keyboard mashing anytime anyone has the temerity to make any comment about Paul that has not been approved by the faithful. "My Precious, must click dislike. Yes, yes. Good is personal liberty. Yes. Must change subject to something other than Head Start. Constitution. My Precious......"
Paul should have the balls to say that he wants to abolish Head Start.
@kupigana Ron Paul apologists? The fuck are you talking about. He's the only anti-war candidate running right now. So, tell us why you support bombing brown people?
@PROUDLIKECOWZ No, it doesn't; that's a non-sequitur and a strawman. You can't charge someone with wanting people killed for not voting for your favorite candidate you fucking moron.
@PROUDLIKECOWZ No, it doesn't; that's a non-sequitur and a strawman. You can't charge someone with wanting people killed for not voting for your favorite candidate you fucking moron.
@kupigana He doesn't want to abolish Head Start; it's not a big enough expenditure to be of concern. He does want to work out of such entitlements, so that it becomes unnecessary to have them. I think he made that perfectly clear, particularly in the unedited interview.
@chrlpolk It is not a priority of his to abolish Head start, but he doesn't think it should exist. He wants to "fade it out" which is the same thing as wanting to gut the program.
@Moionfire do you want Obama+ NDAA + Head Start + War with Iran , or do you want Ron Paul - NDAA - War with Iran and possibility of no head start in future
@Moionfire Not exactly - "gutting it" would mean that he would use an executive order to end its program authority, or he would request Congress defund it to below-operation levels. He would do neither of those things to end entitlements.
But what you presented is exactly the spin he was avoiding by explaining how he would end entitlements, which was particularly clear in the unedited version of the interview.
@kupigana Ron Paul does have balls. It's surprising that he made it that far as an honest politician. This isn't about how much balls he has. He knows how the media will twist that and the American people are dumb as fuck, they won't understand what hes saying. They will just listen to the media.
ALL politicians get asked about what programs they are going to get rid of if they are elected to office. Mayors, governors, representatives, senators and even presidents get asked those questions. Republicans, Democrats and even Libertarians get asked those questions. It's part of the political process even down to some backwater town out in the boondocks.
Halperin is obviously setting him up, but Paul should be honest. Just answer question, "Yes."
Cenk, its a fair strategy, there is nothing wrong with fighting the media, because they are fighting Ron Paul. If the campaing decided to try creating the appareance that the media is being unfair to Ron, its not a "silly" strategy, it's a very fair strategy.
@chrlpolk "they accept their after-tax amount as the starting point of their perceived wealth, and so they don't "miss" the added cost of taxes." - not since the invention of the irs tax return. you rather miss those tiny amounts of consumption taxes every day than this huge amount of income tax once a year.
Ron Paul sucks! He can't even give a straight answer. What a failure.

@inademv I don't see how he is subverting the vote and ignoring the will of the people. Please enlighten me on theory.
Robdee999 2 weeks ago
@inademv So it's "subverting" to follow the rules and amass delegates. Ask each State why they chose to do non-binding caucuses, don't whine about your own rules when we operate within them.
I mean it's not like we're registering dead people, voting twice, rescheduling votes but not allowing those votes to be counted, losing 8 counties worth of votes, reporting 0 votes in places a disliked candidate won, etc.
All the above, done to us.
ProIndividual 2 weeks ago
@ProIndividual Yes, because it bypasses the vote of the people showing who they want to be their nominee. But idk why I'm trying to explain this to you, you're the same party that was behind Bush v Gore and you didn't care about the popular vote then either.
It'd be funny how solipsistic you are if it wasn't so fucking pathetic. Paul hasn't even had negative ads run against him and is still doing the worst.

He answered the question he said "yes its unconstitutional but no its not something he'll work to get rid of in office". People are upset because he kept pressing him on it to make him look extreme and turn people off.
cookiesnmilk1 1 month ago
@cookiesnmilk1 So if it's unconstitutional but he isn't going to fix it then how can you expect him to fix any of the other unconstitutional things he said he would fix?
inademv 2 weeks ago
@inademv Well, if something is unconstiutional but none prioritize - you know, something nobody really give a damn about... Would you attack that first, or say "look, we got priorities, this is not one"?
therrydicule 1 week ago
@therrydicule No, because his stance is strictly a "constitutional purist" one and the cornerstone of EVERY argument he makes is that everything should be constitutional. So if he is identifying something that is in opposition to it, not working at once to rectify that situation is a dereliction of your principle.
That fact doesn't bother me because I already know that Paul is just a huckster, it should however bother you who don't believe he is.
inademv 1 week ago
@inademv "it should however bother you who don't believe he is." -> wait, are we speaking about a politician? Playing the constutionalist card is just playing "who get the biggest dick" without showing it, it's meaningless and everyone doing probably have the equivalent of "a small one." That's how I see it, so I'm suppose to believe what?
therrydicule 1 week ago

But Paul should have been honest and said "Yes".
kupigana 1 month ago

Ron Paul 2012
loismlsx 1 month ago
The problem with Ron Paul is that he seems to think that any proposed legislation not specifically mentioned in the constitution is unconstitutional when in fact, & correct me if I'm wrong, they are only unconstitutional if they actually contravene something specifically laid out in the constitution. It's a list of what is prohibited, not of what is acceptable. RP seems to have it arse backwards.
tvsinesperanto 1 month ago
@tvsinesperanto I think that the issue comes down to the 10th Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
That lays it out pretty specifically. Unless the Constitution says that the Federal government (i.e., "the United States") can do something -- they *can't* do it -- it's reserved to the states or individual citizens.
That may be inconvenient, but it's the law.
prodprod 1 month ago
@prodprod Thanks for answering.
Surely these are constitutional?
tvsinesperanto 1 month ago
@tvsinesperanto I think there are some things that fall within the range of the constitution that Paul objects to on other grounds. I don't think his objection to income tax is that it's unconstitutional - rather, I think that he believes in a small federal government that simply does the limited things that the Constitution mandates.
My understanding isn't that he objects to paper money per se, but rather objects to money that isn't backed by gold or silver as bad monetary policy.
prodprod 1 month ago
(cont'd) (2) As for things like health care, education, social security, etc., I think his position is that, while the federal government has extended its role into those areas, and nobody has objected, that there are no implied powers in this respect and that the 10th amendment, in fact, explicitly forbids it.
Quite simply, it amounts to a federal power grab, just as the President sending troops where he wants without Congressional support is an executive power grab.

txusicB 1 month ago
@txusicB While this is true, FOX news does paint Ron Paul into a man of extremes and liberal policies, all the while, at times, this is exactly what Ron Paul is.
The question at this point was a very simple one, would he eliminate a particular program simply because it was unconstitutional, especially one as helpful to communities as "head start" for children. Ron Paul decidedly side stepped the issue instead of addressing it head on.
Which led to the re-asking of the question.
kylvin318 1 month ago
@txusicB Many of FOX New's questions are simply asinine, but in this rare occasion the question was a very valid one, and one that many voters would want to know about.
To criticize Cenk after pointing out the fact that he wouldn't answer the question and stick wholeheartedly to his position is far fetched. Eventually RP did get around to answering the question, but it was only asked several times, because he wouldn't answer it in the first place.
If it wasn't valid, it'd be a different story.

So anything unconstitutional should be when possible be stopped ASAP, not continue for this 'transitional period' he's claiming.
lonelytrixter 1 month ago
@lonelytrixter In addition to the issue of if a program is constitutional or not, Ron Paul isn't giving a straight answer here. Overall, I do like Ron Paul (not sure if I will vote for him at this time), but his positions are important issues seem to be a mix of the good, bad and the ugly. Unfortunately, so many of Paul supporters wish to bury the ugly parts.

@TMOvids You know, if I were a dick I would point out to you that you never did tell me why you dislike this video, only *that* you do dislike it ;P
But I'm not a dick, so....
AWW, who am I kidding? Why did you dislike this video?

What's with the people who can't take a single negative comment about their candidate?
No candidate is perfect, and there's nothing wrong with not being perfect.
ttzz2003 1 month ago 21

And you wonder why you get some much flack from Paul supporters?
gold95 1 month ago
@Occupyman u dont know the meaning of cult , its a cheap shot . paultards ? what are u 5 ? libtard , people support ron paul because he has a record of standing up for people
not ur prick obama who had goldman sach dick so far down his throat
naym2011 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@naym2011 I do know the meaning of a cult. I said something specific though. google "cult of personality" Its not the same as what people traditionally think of as a "cult" in general terms.
Occupyman 1 month ago
@Occupyman ok slight different in cult of personality but ron paul supporters dont idealize, most supporters dont agree 100% with him on fiscal policy , but agree with him on civil libs and monetary policy . its not a cult, people have many disagreements with RP but its all about changing the status quo
naym2011 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@naym2011 Cool, if you support Ron Paul but admit that you don't agree with him 100% then you're not a Paultard. Paultards are the ones that lurk around the internet and attack anyone that believes doesn't commit their support for Ron Paul. There's still a cult of personality surrounding ron paul which is obvious to me but not everyone is in that camp.
Occupyman 1 month ago
@naym2011 Also, I would like you to note that people call Paultards are not the same as ron paul supporters. Paultards are of the cult of personality.

@ttzz2003 valid negative points not this bullshit by cenk
the media is evil, it lies promotes half truths and has an array of tactics to manipulate the public. so if ron paul is harsh with them so what..when u ask stupid question , ron paul will give you a tough answer
cenk is just part of the media establishment, upset the ron paul does not kiss the medias ring, their is no such strategy as he makes out
Ron Paul does not take a pension from Congress, the man is a legend
naym2011 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos

Ah, freedom - AND COMMON SENSE!
ViciousOneWon 1 month ago 3
@ViciousOneWon You don't think people who are extreme racist/bigots still don't find a way to discriminate without it being blatant? I agree with other poster that most people don't like extreme bigots(i say extreme because really everyone is a racist/bigot to a degree) and would choose to do business with them anyway. Also women's rights has actually increased in more discrimination against men.
ubermisogynist 1 month ago
@ViciousOneWon you can't legislate people to like each other. I don't like gay people and I say that with no shame. If someone is an open gay I would not hire them.
ubermisogynist 1 month ago
@ubermisogynist The Civil Rights Act does not outlaw racial hatred. It outlaws discrimination based on race, sex, color, religion, and national origin. So bigots can hate Jews all they want; they just cant discriminate against them.
At this time I do not believe it is illegal to discriminate based on sexual orientation. So what ur point, bigot?!
ViciousOneWon 1 month ago
@ViciousOneWon I believe he voted against the Civil Rights Act because of his concern about government being allowed to dictate what can be done in someone's private property. His reasoning was that you can't legislate morals, so allowing the government a power it didn't have before does nothing to correct the bigot plus opens a precedent for government interference. I don't agree, of course, but I don't write him off because of that, especially since he is not a bigot himself.
nihilistsneedhugstoo 1 month ago
@nihilistsneedhugstoo Thanks 4 the thoughtful reponse. I appreciate a person responding with reason rather than trying to justify racism.
IMO, this issue is like free speech. We have that right, but its still illegal to yell fire in a crowded theater. We also have the right to private property, but its still illegal to discriminate in places of PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS. Why? Because its good 4 the country! As proof I present A HISTORY BOOK! Look at pre- and post- CRA. Its like night and day!
ViciousOneWon 1 month ago
@nihilistsneedhugstoo

@kupigana He doesn't want to abolish Head Start; it's not a big enough expenditure to be of concern. He does want to work out of such entitlements, so that it becomes unnecessary to have them. I think he made that perfectly clear, particularly in the unedited interview.
chrlpolk 1 month ago
@chrlpolk It is not a priority of his to abolish Head start, but he doesn't think it should exist. He wants to "fade it out" which is the same thing as wanting to gut the program.
Moionfire 1 month ago
@Moionfire do you want Obama+ NDAA + Head Start + War with Iran , or do you want Ron Paul - NDAA - War with Iran and possibility of no head start in future
you decide
naym2011 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
