Springfield 1911 Ultra Compact Review

Great handgun! I thought their barrel is ported; moreover, I've seen A10s with "FI BRAZIL" stamped on the front-right of the receiver! What's the deal with that?

Have you had any problems with this 1911 compact? i've been reading people having problems with the 3inch barrel 1911 but i haven't read anything about the 3 1/2 inch barrel springfield 1911..im looking at this one and the 1911 champion springfield 4inch...nice gun!

Is your short barrel 1911 more accurate than the longer barrel 1911.

@jpaho Overall it's easier to control the longer barrel, so I'm more accurate with it.

Very cool carry piece. How do you feel about the weight of it overall? Does it effect how often you carry it? I know weight is a deal breaker for some people.

@KrazyCash It's fun to shoot bc of the weight. I rarely carry it, not primarily bc of the weight, but capacity. My daily carry is the G27.

sweet .45 and damn your camera is sharp! When I was shopping 1911's the Springfields always felt the smoothest right from the box. There was a Kimber that the salesperson couldn't even rack the slide.

Just got an EMP in 9mm that I have put through its paces with no malfunctions. I'm always weary about a 1911 in 45acp that is less than 4". It does look sweet though. The EMP is going to be my summer CCW. The thing weighs like nothing when charged up with 9+1 147gr HSTs.
