One of the most familiar statements I hear from Mormons is "families are forever." Unfortunately, it seems that KEY Mormon Doctrines work against this. A child is sealed to his/her family - for time and eternity, but if he or she marries a Mormon, he/she is sealed to the spouse - who has lready been sealed to his/her family. - Which sealing takes priority? Also, the goal of exultation further complicates this. Instead of being together, the BEST Mormon families will be WORLDS apart. :(

You need to be corrected there my friend. Non-memebers can view their childrens/brothers/sisters ect. marriage. You first get legally married in a chapel and then you get sealed in the Temple.

For modesty. No you have to be mormon. And no but you can be sealed together by your children after you die.

When a temple is built there is an openhouse and anyone can enter. Then the temple is dedicated by a prophet of God and only members of the LDS church who are worthy can enter. Also God created us and our bodies are temples so sleeves are worn to honor the temple that God created.

is that your way of avoiding the question? no actually i'm only 19. i did go on my mission though. a real mission at least when i turned 18. while i lived in the mormom capitol (sandy, ut)i met a lot mormons and they are some of the nicest people i have ever met. it's sad to see them on the wrong path. the mormon missionaries use some of the same tactics that the military uses to influence captives. i caught onto that within 30 seconds of talking to theses guys.

Can't we all just be happy for people in love - no matter what religion they belong to or where they get married? What's up with religious competition, put-downs, & judgements? Such thoughts/actions lead to hate crimes & wars! Being Christian is more than making claims & attending church services - it's about living every moment loving thy neighbor & letting God be the judge. I wish I had a video of my Mormon wedding. I'll never forget the look on my wife's face as she cried through the whole thing because her parents and sister had to sit outside for the whole thing. It was beautiful! And then my mother comforting her by telling her she was ruining everything by crying. Oh, and the look of patience on her parents' faces must have been so endearing. It makes me want to cry, and then puke all over myself.

there is a difference between a temple wedding and a temple sealing. A wedding in the temple is like a wedding outside, but to us it s infinitly more precious. a worldly wedding is just for life, a temple wedding is for eternity. One day i will have t make the same chocie your sister made. I will have to choose between a wedding with my family, or a wedding in the temple. I don't know what my choice will be, but I want a temple wedding beyond all belief.
