Ok.I got it going The problem was during the transfer. I used a USB/MicroSD adapter to transfer the file to the Dare. For what ever reason the cable was not getting the job done. I know now to only transfer via USB/MicroSD adapter...The video isnt very good it be nice to video on a Droid

i download mine off of LimeWire. i download movies that say MP4 then i use Quick Media Converter to convert to 3G2 format 320x240.

3gp and 3g2 is a cellphone format but the picture is really bad.

i convert my to the mp4 format, the picture is ten times clearer. Mp4 is for Iphone and Ipod so that is why is clearer, BUt there are many high resoluiton mp4 format..so for the lg dare you have to choose the lowest mp4 format on the iphone conveter and the picutre still comes out better then 3gp or 3g2 . I know evrything about this phone, like anything.....

Every time I backup a dvd movie it breaks it down into about 30 minute parts and I just want one whole movie an hour and 1/2. which programs should I use? Also, sometimes when I use quickmedia it converts it into spanish even when I choose English? What else should I do or use?

@rmed2000 try DVD Shrink, always works at backing up DVDs. just make sure you choose the right file to back up as it shows any files on the DVD including the Special Features clips

i've done this with just putting mp4 movies on but some wo'nt play. obviously some are way too much for the cpu and they just lock the screen up. others make the phone respnse very very slow compared to normal. i don't know if id recommend this video thing on the dare unless somebody has actually watched a 2 and a half hour movie on it. good vid thought 5*

Handbrake is a much better converter tool. And if you run linux or mac osx, you can download vlc media player and be able to rip encrypted dvd's to your computer. there are alos a lot of presets that you can choose from to play on any kind of media player.

The movies don't need to be in 3g2 - you can do mp4, with much better results, in native 640.

It definitely works - video bitrate NO GREATER THAN 768, 30 fps, xvid, 44000 sample, 96 bitrate sound. Works beautifully, but it takes a few secs for these vids to load on your dare.

Note - the videos in mp4 format do run a bit choppy. I actually use the default formats - less pixelization, smoother framerate - but my point was the dare supports MP4.

For the people who fucked something up and cnt connect their phone to the PC (like i myself). u can use the microSD(if u have an adaptor). Stick it in the adaptor, stick the adaptor into your pc (all newer PC's should have microSD slots) then in my PC open it and VOILA u have all the folders needed :)

You need to exit the rhapsody music player if you have it open. Also you need to plug in your phone and then open the USB Mass Storage. Otherwise go find the application in your "My computer" area.

It has to do with how your video converter is cropping the video. Im sure you can change your cropping in this program but I use VIO mobile video converter and it simply asks you which phone you wish to crop for and you can set how wide you want it.

You want to go to "enable advanced options", then in the section that says "Resolution (W x H)"

Enter 400 x 240.  This is the screen resolution on the LG dare.
