I look at this as a kanaka and see that these people may be homeless in the sense of Hāʻole culture yet in hawaiian culture this is just living the way we used to live on the land as long as these people are happy it is okay but what bugs me out is the fact that the government is chasing our people off the land which is where we should be. The U.S. has done a horrible job running our Aina our people have been suffering for so long time to get a little respect and control back kanakas!
Unfortunately, we might not be able to do anything with current landowners, but future land ownerships of hawaiian islands should be abolished forever! and any existing land turned over to the state from deceased landowners should be made public to all people who wish to live in the Apua'a way!
the problem with government is they are trying to create an environment around "Working" What they should do is try to empower to people and educate them to be self-sufficient and not have to slave away all their lives and get nowhere!!!
Freedom and indepedence. Life Liberty, and pursuit of Happiness that is what is truly important, a government that strays away from this becomes nothing more than a tyrannical police state!

i grew up in nanakuli it's fucked up to see homeless people struggling in my home town. im not hawaiian at all, but i jus want a better future 4 everyone there. i just hope maybe someone will take notice and solve da situation like more homeless shelters, free classes dey could take to get job skills, something. kicking em away from place 2 place aint koo.

Um... The people who pushed for this eviction were the Kanaka Maoli across the street who have been living in houses there for generations! The homeless took over 90% of the beach, and the people who actually live in real homes in the community are limited to a tiny percent of the beach. Your post says CULTURCIDE AND GENOCIDE but it is the native hawaiian who push for this eviction! They sell drugs at this beach it was not safe for kids. They build two new homeless shelter there last Dec.
You know what you should do? you should go a protest against the RAIL that MUFI wants to build. Billions of dollars will be put into that stupid RAIL instead of building shelters,homes for the homeless. Giving free education to our young ones. Food to the needy. We need to remember that United States of America at the moment owns this land so if you want to say something go to the meetings and protest of the lands. What you can at least do as well is clean up the area and beautify the land.
