@yceroid1 65lb cardstock and printer paper (pretty much everything that's a cylinder such as the hinges are made out of printer paper)

yes, I will show how i made the hinges in the next tutorial, not sure when it'll come out though, this is a tough semester.

Well, those too, but I was talking about the sliding bit that rotates as well...its kinda complicated... and I only saw your tutorial after I posted the comment :) anyways I've subbed... What strikes me though is how that creation of yours doesn't fall apart. (I'm designing animal transformers using papercraft....they keep falling apart)

I might be misunderstanding what you mean, but everything is glued together (other than the moving parts). As for the sliding mechanism, it's kinda hard to explain, that's why I recorded the close up of it in the video. All it is is an L shaped hole and a tube that slides inside of it.

Nah you didn't misunderstand me ^_^ As everything is just glued together, I'm surprised at how certain parts aren't breaking, etc. Have you by any chance had to reinforce certain parts of any of your designs?

Not really. The models are engineered from ground up to keep its structure and not to fall apart. I just make sure that if anyone wants to see the model move, that I'm the only one moving the parts around.

regular printer paper, 110 lb paper found at walmart of officemax (just about any place that sells printer paper) and cheap water-based glue, even though i don't recommend it.

I thought about it, I could make the textures myself, but then I believe it will ruin the point of the models. The texturing will add an illusion of more detail than there already is.
