Let's get some perspective here,The Cocteau's were/are brilliant(personally I prefer the early stuff,before you could understand what Liz was singing),while it's true to say that commercial success eluded them,it's not true to say that they were ignored all together.They were lauded by the majority of the "quality" press,NME adored them as did John Peel,they were just too left field for the mainstream,and that's fine by me.

and as we know way too talented, I guess the mainstream ignored them throughout their career-

in terms of awards, until they split sadly, I too love not knowing what Liz was singing, so cool....

which CD's or albums are the best.. you seem like and expert on C Twins.

Gosh -- radio sucks in Denver -- never heard any of their outstanding music

here.. quite sad -- such talent goes un noticed.

but "Garlands" is so dark and atmospheric, "Head Over Heels" filled with classic songs,

and "Treasure" is just that a pure treasure chest of music...You should play them all and

you'll then find your personal faves my friend, the CTs were really popular in the US and

massive in South America too, thats a shame you never heard their music gaulfdeziner..

I must admit, i was a late bloomer when it came to cocteau twins. I didn't discover them till the mid to late 90's and the song was Iceblink Luck From that i was hooked. went and got all their cd's even the bbc sessions, and Liz's guest apperances on other artists albums like Massive Attack, Medicine, and This mortal Coil. I LOVE Cocteau Twins and it hurts my heart to know that music this beautiful and inspirational can never be popular in todays music industry.
