  • Gotta love Mike Leach

  • Tubberville would need a week to complete that many sentences

  • This just proves how insanely stupid reporters are.

  • Leach is right. Playoff is the only way. I say an 8 team playoff, with ONLY conference championship teams eligible for the playoff. (However each conference determines their champion is up to them).

  • Playoff is the only way, but not only conference championship teams. Example, take last year with Texas beating Oklahoma, Oklahoma beating Texas Tech, and Texas Tech beating Texas. All three teams were tough matchups in a different way for each other. The most logical way is to use the BCS which is a great way to rank teams, and to take the top 8 BCS ranked teams and make a n eight team playoff.

  • @rossryden I hear you.. I am 100% aware of the TX/OK/Tech ordeal. I'd rather have 8 conf champs face off, then have 8 'at large teams' ie more like the '8 most poppular/well liked teams' face off. How lame would a playoff be with four teams from the same conference in the playoffs. Then you could be national champ and not even win your conference? I preffer the idea of only letting each conference champion in. Thus, if a team gets screwed its a CONFRENECE PROBLEM vs a BCS problem...

  • @89integra123456 well what about basketball rossryden! how many times has a non-conference champ in NCAA basketball won the national championship?

  • @89integra123456 not a bad idea but this could place 9-4 or even 8-5 teams into an 8 team playoff when there may be more deserving teams, like a 1 loss Florida team who didn't win the SEC championship. 16 would be the way to go or have the top 8 BCS ranked teams into the 8 team playoff system your suggesting.

  • I say basketball is its own animal, and is not comparable to football.

16 teams seems unrealistic. I like the top 8 bcs idea, but then it remains a popularity contest (like it is now). Realistically, 5 of the 8 teams could very likely come from the Big Ten and SEC... which would be the same silliness we have now.

We can play the what if game all day... :)

The beauty is, none of our opinions really matter.... but, it is fun to talk about.

  • @89integra123456 whats the beauty in your opinion not mattering? Not sure I follow

  • Amen for playoffs.

  • At least he's honest!
