  • good you are Fast ! :D

    hey man you have msn

  • Thanks buddy.

    Yes i do :)

  • nice vid how old are u ?

  • Thanks - 22 now =)

  • Thank you, 22 at the moment.

  • Amazing!! very good job! Would you suggest to include more reaction training for somebody who is a shorter goalkeeper, since they (and myself) have trouble diving and jumping such distances?

    Thanks.

  • Definitely! Shorter goalkeepers need to have twice the reaction speed to get to the ball. I myself am not as tall as most goalkeepers (178cm) but i worked on my diving technique to shorten the distance and increase my reaction speed :)

  • and just a tip. keep working on the crosses cuz as a young goalkeeper myself i no tht taking crosses is one of the if not the hardest element of goalkeeping

  • awesome job bro :)

ur a really good goalkeeper keep it up.

  • Thanks buddy :)

  • You are very good, Davor!

Jesli jedan Hrvat iz Zenica, ili?

  • Thank you :)

    Da, jesam...

  • Zenica je fantastičan :)

  • Good Goalkeeping!..im gonna have my own video, pretty soon. end of september.

    Odlicno!

  • hvala lijepo. kad napravis svoj video stavi ga ovdje na youtube i posalji mi link da vidim ;)

    Pozdrav

  • you could catch more balls?

  • Yeah i see why you're saying that but the point of most of those exercises wasn't to catch the ball. They are meant for close encounters.

At the start of the clip there is some catching exercises and the rest are meant for pushing away using the correct technique. =)

  • isn't it crap how hard coaches flog keepers! We get trained like long distance runners! we're power athletes and need strength exercises and speed exercises to create explosive power. This makes us jump faster, further making harder saves. Shit happens I guess:-) nice moves there dude.

  • i noe how to the short dives but how do u do the long/high dives. like i can't push myself up high/long enough. and do u have to like shuffle/do footworks b4 diving? thx

  • Well you have to be light and have flexibility, otherwise you will never reach your highest capabilities. But technique also plays a role. If you watch my video in slow motion and specifically look at my legs and the technique i use for short and long dives.

  • i c thx a lot. um... do u have to push with both of ur legs or just left/right leg (depending on the direction)?

  • You push off one leg depending which direction you're diving to. But always push off the closest leg to that direction. And always be on your toes, never flat footed. =)

  • THX ALOT REALLY HELPED ME!!!!! o yea uh.. at 0:57 how do u do that dive. like diving in an upside down "U" shape?

  • Its hard to explain but my landing technique when i do high dives is to always land with my hands, then body and then the legs. I guess thats what creates the upside down U shape...

  • How have you improved your legwork? I'm also a goalie and watched you bouncing. I'd be very grateful if you told me how did you learn to move so great.

  • Hi there,

Thanks for your compliment. Well i pretty much started learning correctly from the beginning. My father was a great goalkeeper and is a great goalkeeper coach so i learn as i go. The footsteps are easy once you master them, but there's no way for me to tell you in writing on how to do it. The spring(what you call bouncing) is natural and also comes with using the right diving and landing technique.

    I hope this helped :)

  • Thank you very much! I'm going to try your advices. I've got just one question left: how do you warm up before trainings and match?

  • No problem.

In my opinion a dynamic warm up is best for trainings and before matches. It works on all your muscles and flexes you pretty well if you do it correctly. Prior to matches you should have a short and fast warm up, dynamic warm up, shorts, crosses, kicks etc.

For a explanation on what a dynamic warm up is, lok it up on google ;)

    I hope this helped!

  • did you punch that last ball with a single fist?

  • Yes i did...i was actually pretty stuffed at that point. We did plenty more training before the recording started.

  • gd movement and am sure a very gd keeper in game situation only fault i can see is he id just to late and not jumping high enough when the crosses are coming in he would be beaten every time if he moved this way in a game. but very good anyway

  • I agree, thumbs up! I've been waiting for someone to say that but no one has until now. I know that is the case. I'm always lazy at trainings. But good spotting! ;)

  • no bother mate just said that is thats what i think i can see u r a very good goalkeeper who looks to b coming on to a game . and 1 main fault was what i said and i am sure u could easily fix that every1 else on here leaves pointless or rude comments as they have no sense of what it takes to become a gd keeper and in most cases jealous i think. you are a better keeper than me so keep it up buddy

  • How old are you?:)

  • Right now I'm 20...next year going onto 21 =)

  • hey mate hate to say this in such a rude manor catch the fuckin ball you slap every thing away low balls were fine the one when you were diving over the other play hit you in the chest and you slapped it away

  • Thanks for the input, but those drills weren't for catching. You cannot catch every ball in a match and therefore you need to practice hitting it (as you say slapping it) away. You are too narrow minded and obviously did not undertake any Europe style training (excluding English style). But thanks for the input anyways.

  • Actually I have played for 5 years in europe three in England two in spain I know what the drill was trying to focus on but touching it away is the second option if you can catch it do it I have had one of the best goalkeeper coaches in the world (Dan Gaspar) Just going from the professional stand point you are quick enough to catch them so do it. Your coach will then realize he needs that you can step it up to the next level.

  • especilly on intercepting crosses cause ur pretty much a pro at everythin here and that my weak point

  • hey dude this stuff is so dam amazing, i wish i had the stamina and skills 2 do wat ur doin, im still kinda new 2 the game since this only my second season and year playin soccer but ive takin 2 it fast and love the game, so u got any tips

  • Hey there, i apolegise for the delayed reply but i have been busy lately. Thanks a lot for your compliments.

Tips don't help much and if i was to give any it wouldn't come close to fitting on this comment or the next. But the best thing i can tell you is to be determined and set yourself a goal and do your best to get to it. Send me a priv message if you have any questions.

  • Sorry for another post, but what is the salute song at the end called. I love it.

  • A small tip from me, as a goalkeeper.

Even tho you now know when the shoot will come, you dont do that in a regular game and by then have to be ready all the time while moving. The way hold you hands makes you not ready. get them more out from your boddy. Like you would have them if you where standing waiting for a shott. Not as far to reach the ball then :)

  • Yes, but keep in mind that this is to judge technique and speed, not how many balls i save.

Regarding the hand technique i would have to disagree. I guess everyone is taught differently. But when your hands are close to you, you have faster reflexes. obviously it shouldn't be touching your body but it also shouldn't be too far away. But thanks for your input.

The song is called Champion or something. I didn't implement it. It was a professional media designer.

  • Srecko Nikic Barisic.. ex- goalkeeper coach of Melbourne Knights. Got some good drills and lovely technique. I see Davor you playing for Preston now, looking good. I'm overseas now playing soccer. All the best to the both of you.

    Azur

  • brilliant keeping mate..

wa gloves are u usin ? wb

  • Hey buddy,

I use Reusch gloves. I like the material and the glove fit.

  • ima goalkeeper too,ure damn good!

  • dude u r real good im a goalie to but damn u beat me any day have any tips u can share if u dont mind can u share ideas to help me out imma use the trainin with my trainin when i practice wit my team thankz bro

  • How about putting in those missing pieces then? ^^

  • Ohhhh... you are really good. Congratulations;)

  • Excellent strength... excellent form...

It's such a relief to see a homemade goalkeeper compilation where the goalkeeper actually catches the ball.

How far do your goalkicks, throws, and punts go?

  • Thank you....

The video you see on here is actually not the full length. YouTube cut it for some reason. Its missing the penalty shoot outs and couple little snippets from a game.

I can kick well into the other half of the ground and i can throw to the half way line...

  • obviously dont like ur right side... u dont parry the ball around the goal only back into field of play... ur just an amateur... i am an elite goalkeeper mate but keep up the effort and work on that right side!!

  • What are you on about? Do you see one ball that went back anywhere back towards where it came from? All the balls went either out into the corner or went all the way down the link into throw in. You ain't no elite keeper, you got no idea what you are talking about. The coach there kicking is a goalkeeper of former Yugoslavia, if he didn't make a comment about that then there is nothing wrong with it. Never the less, thank you for your input.

  • ur fukin good man how u get ur spring so big , i been doin squats u know anythign else?

  • Thanks buddy...

Well, I've been working on it since i was 11 years old. You should see my thighs hehe Its a lot of hard work i just hope i can use it to my advantage somewhere where i can advance my career.

  • hey i have to give u alot of ratings i am 17 and i play for a semi pro club in london watching u is inspirational but i think u are waisting ur talent u should be up there in a premier league u should try hard and get urself known and spotted thx for the inspiration and keep up the good work.

  • cool..watch my vids im 14 years goalkeeper from egypt :)

  • haha..sorry bout that..

for example if u were to play in england maybe u could play for some conference or some semi-pro team?

    u get wat i mean..haha..

anyway are u playing for any team at the moment?

  • Ahh ok i get you =P just don't let DINAMOultra see you say that otherwise he will crack it at you, like he cracked it at the bottom HAHAHA =P~

Yeah I'm currently keeping in Division 1 (Australia, Victoria) but I'm hoping ill get back into the Victorian Premier League by next season. What stuffed me up is that i went on a holiday and when i came back positions were taken =] I might just have to go oversease and try out for some clubs.

  • ah..i see...well u could give it a try..

u could perhaps try out at some asian countries like singapore or malaysia..

it'll be a good experience..coz im from singapore u see and most goalies here are self-trained..

except for those hu are playing for clubs or haf their own personal coach..

other than that most are lacking technically..

anyway all the best trying to make ur name dude..

hope to see ur name in the news in future..=D

  • u haf a good leap..

    u would make a good keeper man..haha..

looking at u rite now u could walk into any lower division team and at least be their 2nd choice goalie..

    keep up the good work!!

    =D

  • "looking at u rite now u could walk into any lower division team and at least be their 2nd choice goalie.." What exactly is a lower division team? and what country are you referring to?

  • good diving...

  • but keep up the good work. i'd love to see you playing in the Championship, EPL what have ya'. good luck in your career.

  • you are a great keeper. and id love to have you on my team/club. the ONLY thing i saw wrong in you, is you dont call keeper early enough. you yell keeper right as the ball is landing in your hands or before its 1 meter away from you. you call it off a little earlier then your defenders will get off your back on set-pieces and things of that nature, as well attackers will get confused and often times back off by the sound of your voice...

  • Yeah thanks for that input. But that was just a training session so i didn't really bother with it. But still you have a good point there =]

  • wow, your very good, keep up the good work

  • i personally thik you need to control your diving and get who ever you coach is to knock down the intensity until you get it under control. It's not practical to use an extended diving technique for every shot. Make sure you steps are controlled before you press off. Also get rid of that obstacle you were diving over in your extended diving section. All that does it teaches you bad landing technique, and forces you to dive without taking steps

  • Yes i understand what you are saying, but that video is only one type of training session. There are heaps of different situations and techniques that can be used.

Just regarding the obstacle i was diving over....in some situations there is no time to take a step and therefore you need to dive from the position you are in, and that is exactly what that exercise is for.

    Thanks for your useful input!

    Davor

  • i'd like to see you in a match because some goalkeepers are good at shot stopping in training, but do not know how to perform in a match like timing for coming out for crosses on corners and coming out for one on one saves, like myself to be honest lol. from the video you look like a good goalkeeper though and good luck to you if you get signed up or anything mate

  • you gonna want me huahuaauahuahuuha

  • Sorry? What do you mean?

  • Is the soundtrack out yet? If so, where can I get it? It's brilliant.

  • i wanna be a pro goalkeeper, playing, in fc copenhagen, clubs like that, not chelsea or something, someone have some tips...

  • Do you have a video of yourself?

  • why dont you use a real goal?

  • That was the main ground of Preston Lions Football Club in the Victorian Premier League, we won't allowed to have keeper trainings on it. Just lite stuff such as the crosses and penalty shoot outs. Which is not on this dvd. YouTube shortened the dvd and reduced the quality of it. So yeah...

  • Ok well thanks for clearin that up i think u got alot of potential as a gk but theres alot of other great keepers out there so out work them and you will be fine

  • dang ur awesome dude. looks like u culd cover a goal twice the size of a norm haha. get some publicity and get picked up haha. u culd make it

  • "any suffered any heavy defeats" Is there a question in that sentence for me or what you trying to say?

  • im a keeper and i could only dream to be as good as you any suffered any heavy defeats

  • sik man play melbourne knights seniors man is ur brother toni??? and ur dad srechko?

  • lol fair enuf.

  • Well in a lot of situations i don't use technique i use experience and talent (some call it) to make decisions like that...

  • croboy in a 1 on 1 how u kno which way they dive. wa i do is look at their body positionin n do it tha way.

  • i wen im in a 1 on 1 wa i do is anticipate the ball and watch how theyre standing. i close down the angle and dive at their feet wen they pull their foot bk to shoot lol. also i look how far their head is over the ball to kno how high to dive :)

  • i think its bloody good - if you're an aussie you gotta have a chance to play national, schwarzer and kalac are utter rubbish. but awesome technique, you can tell when you're gettin tired, same with me but i get bollocked for kicking at the ball even after so long - looking forward to more

  • hehehe I'm not a aussie, I'm Croatian and PROUD! My primary focus would be representing Croatia.

  • yo croboy im also a keeper ive been a keeper for 7 yrs n got trained by simon smith :). i like ur technique too lol, but that's all ive seen from ya. what would you normally do in a 1 on 1 situation?

  • Well I'm looking into making more videos but I'm pretty pre-occupied playing for my team at the moment.

Regarding the one on one, that depends how the player comes at you, ofcourse you want to close your angle so he sees less of the goal but when it comes to diving, hands first, straight into his legs and grab the ball =] But as i said, there is different techniques, it all depends how the player is coming at you and from what angle.

  • hahaha yer i know but that was a 1 and ahalf hour training session and those crosses were done at the end LOL I was gone.

    Thanks for the input ;]

  • i think you have talent but remember always cath the ball at the higgest point

  • What you think people? =]

You think i have a chance to play for my country one day? =P~
