How about this...Let the Bible be the deciding tool...The Bible is the inspired word of God and it is under that book all christianity finds it's authority...If the bible doesn't say it...then it's not christian! Simple...Clear cut...
@Brooklynn81 "Let the Bible be the deciding tool....Clear cut " its seems like it should be clear cut, but look at what MORmONS end up doing, things like baptisim for the dead, Paul merely mentions the practice & MORmONS take that as a mandate & do it. The bible mentions murder, adultery, lying & sorcery, should we do those things too? WHOOPS, near fail on that point because MORmONS indulge in those things too when it suits them !
@Brooklynn81 Problem, The Bible is not complete. There are Books missing that the prophets refered to in it. Those inpired works are no more inspired? You also have to take into consideration that much of the bible was put together by Philosophers influence by greek culture. Starting actually from Plato to about 400 yrs after Christ. Take Baptism for example do we emerse? Sprinkle or just have faith in jesus and do not get Baptized. Which of the three?
How about Mormons talk, (non-LDS) Christians talk, and when one talks, the other listens. And neither one assumes the other is WRONG in their own beliefs.
I don't assume the other is wrong in their own beliefs. The only time I point out when they are wrong is when THEY are wrong about MY beliefs. When someone wants to "convert" me from "that evil cult", and refuses to even listen to my side, then yes, I must break it off. One must listen as well as talk.
