I have a 1996 eagle talon tsi awd that i just got and it idles right below 1000 rpm which is good.. but when you start it cold it has a hard time starting and you have to keep working the gas for a while till it will idle and after you let it sit for a while when you try to drive it, it doesnt have any power! you can hold your foot to the floor and still go 5 mph... till you drive it for about 5 minutes.. then its not very strong at first till the rpms build,.. any idea what my problem is?
your light IS coolant. Check your fuel rail and o- rings to the fuel injectors. My talon was kinda doin the same thing. staggering on acceleration and lack of power. Your fuel pump should be pushin 50 to 60 psi wich is pretty high for a fuel pump.
too high boost get a boost gauge hitting fuel cut chack timing do as manual says test boost leaks check BISS screw adjustment all the above would cause this coolant temp sensor flooding car out? wiring problems last may be ecm replace ment to see if it fixes this issue
I rebuilt my head and have that same light on it went away as soon as it got enough electricity charge the battery and maybe replace the alternator because if anything like liquid or grease gets in it it's gone and the tests at autozone aren't accurate
Alright you must not know what a boost leak is if you really said "how could that cause me to lose power"? of course a boost leak will cause you to lose power! its you boost leaking! lol. I can actually hear the wistle of your leak when your turbo spools. thats one of your problems. use that tool you bought and i guarentee youll find a leak or several. and for a fuel pump, walbro 190. if you get a 255 youll need a FPR. 255 is too big for stock injectors and no FPR.
Two things man check ur TPS SENSOR ICS SENSOR or check MAS motor these three on my 93 gave me ur same symtoms change em also u might wanna check ur throttle body.
hi there i see u are having bost issues seeas if u have a vac leak. what is ur fuel pump pruser and with my talon my high idle was caused but the throtle air control sencor. also in the cher of ur dash very bottom passenger side test your fuel pump cutout relay they tend to go bad if u need mor info conact me thansk
are you still having problems? I can help if you need it. I have a 90 GSX that I bought in 92 and know everything about these great cars!!! I have 180k on OEM motor and still running 22psi strong ALL DAY!!!
I owned an eagle talon for 1 year then i got rid of it as soon as possible.... nothing but trouble as i went along .... there fast cars dont get me wrong but not reliable
check your ECU if is burn inside the circuit and than you need to replace or send to rebuilt the ECU ,and now if it ok than is IAC control also is bad when you bring the idle back down to 750 to 900 rpm and a/c is on and you drive to come to the red light and its shut off,or its bounce the Tachometer around than either clean your throttle ,and reset idle spect, now if that down work than you will need to prepair to buy a new IAC control motor ,is at the bottom of throttle body intake, goodluck
well, i got the problem fix,, just before the turbo falls apart,,, the nut on the compressor side back out, and the shaft and both sides of the turbo are no good,, the timing was perfect, i had a boost leak at the throttle body and at the fuel injectors,,, it ran good for 3 to 4oo miles,,,lol
if your making your turbo put out over 14 psi you should run 2 1/2 exhaust that would make a loss in power when you get up in the rpms because the turbo is getting back pressure ...if you have the exhaust on it then i wouldn't know whats up i have a awd laser but its never done that
my talon did that too I would be going wide open throttle and at around 3.5,4k rpm it would stutter and not produce any more power. but it went away when i got a bigger Tee for the boost/vacuum lines. also dont get that fuel pump thats a waste for stock turbo. all i can suggest you do is check the timing, check your vacuum lines to make sure theyre hooked up right, make sure your compressor bypass valve is working fine, check for boost leaks. orange light means coolant in the reservoir is low
like before if i would do a boost leak test. do you have an after market boost gauge or just the stock one? the higher idle could be caused but a vacuum or "boost" leak after the throttle plate
a wally 255 will over run your stock fuel pressure regulator. Its not your fuel pump that is causing your idle to be so high. Do the boost leak test and see where your loosing air. If its not that, dig into your isc or biss.

I commented on another of your vids.
I seriously believe you have pinholes in the piston or your fuel map is way off.

Forgot to mention.....you need to check the timing and make sure that is where it should be. It looks like boost leak or incorrect base timing.
