  • This Songs Message...Amazing ♥

  • ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

  • Awww...3:45-3:47

  • Heard an Amanda Marshall song recently and had to look her up again. I have no idea why, since I hated her music then and I still hate it now. Perhaps it was more of a 90s nostalgia thing.

But really, that "uh la la la la nanananana" thing in this song is vile.

  • I am soooo happy I saw her played live!!! yeah baby!!! :) it was amazing!!! on Canada Day!! :)

  • @ispyonu20 Aw, that must have been awesome hearing her live...love to see her perform

  • @TravisBlue1979 it really was awesome! :) I loved it! :) people was screaming like crazy cows!! hehehehe... natural feeling u know! :) anyways that was like 3 years ago in Brampton, Ontario... yeah!! Vive le Canada! :)

  • why would someone with a phd be a taxi driver?

  • @dpkzpking when people immigrate they usually don't have the same qualifications for jobs that they originally had in their home country. A janitor at the mcdonalds in my neighbourhood was a doctor in the Philippines.

    Hope this helped :)

  • @dpkzpking It was rumored that all the taxi drivers in New York City had a phD. Couldn't find a job after they graduated, and such.

  • - People with Phd's come from around the world and have to jump through unbelievable hoops to be allowed to practice in other countries. I am in Canada and their are programs that run about doctors who wash dishes, cook fast food, janitor work and if they are real lucky they can teach in a similar field or work under another doctors as a lacky. Even once they have jumped through all the hoops that cost lots of money they are still given the shoulder as to why they still can not practice.

  • Great Song. Great Video. Great Artist. Great Canadian.

  • ya those were the 90's

  • Shit, I drink cherry cokes.. suck'em down like coca cola.

  • but i like cherry cokeXD

  • One of the most overlooked, underrated artists that emerged during the 1990s. I think she was unfortunately overshadowed by Tori, Alanis, Sheryl, Shania, etc. whereas if she came out today she would have made more of an impact.

  • hope she likes dr hook

  • man am i the only one that can see how gorgeuose

man i know i am not the only one that can see the innore

man i knoww i am not the only one that can see the inter beauty of amanda she is so f n sweet sorry but he just makes me feel so great love her yu know

  • She reminds me of my little sister. Same hair, similar voice. Except my sister is 10.

  • @veelovessnmc, I couldn't agree more!

  • There's a nice article and interview in today's Toronto "Star" (1 Nov.'10). She's making a comeback. I remember her very well from the '90's, that great big voice was very well suited to the New Years' Eve concerts in Nathan Phillips Square.

  • I have never been lucky enough to have been able to go to one of her performances. It's on my bucket list.

Her music touches hearts and souls.

  • I just LOVE Amanda Marshall. Why don't more people know about her?

  • One of the greatest Artists!!!!!

  • i heard this song on the radio, im so glad i found it!

  • her voice is so sexy

  • old song but still love it :) used to sing it in my room when i was younger

  • i love this song it is great message to never judge before you know them cuz they could be people with cancer or they could be the smartest person ever

  • I'm not a big fan of this song, but the chorus 'everybody's got a story that could break your heart' has become an important part of the way I think... I think it's something everyone should remember.

  • i finally found a video that's not been vevofied lol

  • im a muslim and i can really relate to this song, ppl always judge me and think im evil but if u asked all my friends they will say that i am the kindest person they have ever met:)

    i love this song

  • this is like my favourite song :)

  • this is like my favourite song :)

  • Damn! I wish I was born earlier then '97 so I could have really grown up with this music instead of that miserable excuse for Pop we have today.

  • everyone's got a story that can break your heart..

  • She managed to piss a lot of people off, including me, I wish I never met her but I love her music lol

  • how did she do that?

  • @ATheMaestro just the way she acted

  • @funmacsta

How did she piss people off?

  • Remember the days when girls didn't have to get naked in music videos to have a hit played? And when music lyrics and the correlation to the music videos actually meant something and remotely matched up? Yeah, I miss those days.

  • @veelovesnmc lmfao i couldnt agree more, i sooo miss the 1990s :(

  • @TiaJustine07 The 90's in my opinion. How about the great music of the 70's. Of course I was just a baby by the end of the decade. But thats when a lot of my favorite music came out

  • @veelovesnmc Haha well said.

  • Comment removed

  • @veelovesnmc I agree with you totally. It's a shame that women degrade themselves so much in today's media just because sex sells. I hate it even more when there are songs with beautiful lyrics and then your watching the video and it's just a bunch of immoraly dressed females which just isn't the slightest bit necessary.

  • Comment removed

  • @veelovesnmc I guess nowadays people use heartbreaking stories to get in others pants. What a sad world. Yes i miss those days too.

  • @veelovesnmc No kidding, I remember those days...Wasn't that long ago, but seems like forever.

  • @veelovesnmc Hate to say it but it still exists in Country music. Somewhat!

  • @veelovesnmc I completely agree. I have a 17 year old daughter and the female "musicians" that are marketed to kids that age depress me.

Remember when female singers didn't feel the need to always appear half naked in their videos? When they didn't feel that they had to sexualize and commidify themselves to get noticed? When there were female singer/songwriters who wrote intelligent lyrics that actually said somthing?

Remember when people actually liked these kinds of female singers?

  • Comment removed

  • @veelovesnmc It is unfortunate, yes. However there were just as many naked pop stars running around in the 90's as there are now. I find that eye candy will generally attract a lot of attention but in the long run talent usually pulls through. Adele is artist of the year, that is proof.

  • What ever happen to that gorgeous piece of hair.................

  • She got too big for her hair and Sony dumped her. Word is she's back in the studio.

Truth be told, I didn't like the direction this album was going. I thought it was too hip hop/pop. IMO her voice is tailor made for rock and the adult contemporary stuff she was doing on her first two albums.

If she is back in the studio, I hope she's returning to her roots (wrt two her first two albums).

  • hey anyone have an mp3 link where i can download this song?

  • I have been looking for this song FOREVER! I cant believe I finally found it!

  • I've been listening to her since I was 6 =]

  • I'm not a huge fan of the videos, but AManda Marshall is fantastic. She has a natural born vocal talent and a gift for lyrics.

  • Too bad more than the last half of the song is just the chorus repeated again and again... The verses have the interesting lyrics.

  • Hi all, I just started a brand new website called "We All Have a Story to Share". Feel free to leave a story of your own. Just contact me through here for the website address.

  • This song actually has good lyrical content, its just too bad she is into popish synthetic beats and producing a fucked up shitty music video. Not to mention she does the Micheal Jackson Black or White video trick with changing faces seemlessly. Take a lesson from the greats, don't make dumbass videos, just do a live performance! If you are as good as your supposed to sound, you'll be better live, if not then do a music video and concede your retardation.

  • Man. I missed this song. I could never find it for download it when I first got into it.

  • I'll never get tired of listening to this song...makes you stop & think about all the different people that we brush aside because of how they look but never take the time to actually get to know them

  • @WarriorLightning -- Two thumbs up if I could give you for your comment ... but anyway, we will never learn how to naturally see a stranger from within because we are all prisoners of the material realm (aka our bodies). Only through spirituality one can learn to open their true eyes ... if one can actually believe that such thing exists. But to those who really do believe and I mean believe and live its principles, it's a wonderful thing ... I do not claim that I have reached that pinnacle.

  • Just speaking from my personal observations of our world. It's no surprise to me that all faiths from all the corners of the world all preach the same message ... perhaps there's a reason to that than just mere coincidence ...

  • You can hear this song as often you want. It´s always great. The lyrics are so true...

  • She's fantastic!

  • Yes, the satemants this song is giving could not be anymore true!!! People do get caught up in outer appearances & forget about what really defines us, like all the time!!! This is such a cool song!!!

  • this vid is 02 she was born 1972 now 37

  • How young is she???

    She hot.

  • this will make you laugh, she's not super young, but shes...what 36, 37 something like that.

indeed she is still hot <3

  • omg so old school LOL

  • does anyone knoe were she went?

  • i often wonder this myself... :(

    she is amazing!!!!

  • She's actually going to be at Cornwall's Lift-Off festival this year. They had an interview on the radio with her and she said they're working on new material after such a long break and will be going into the studio soon.

  • Wow. I didn't realize that she was this young.

    Absolutely gorgeous.

    I love her!

  • ummmm nice, she's cool

  • i love this song hate the video ughh that sucks

  • check out folklarama in winnipeg WONDERFUL

  • I love her and the who drinks a cherry coke part is soooooooooooooooo x300000 is so funny me and my familly love her

  • steer clear of guys who drink cherry coke they're no good lol

  • why's she so harsh on this nervous cherry coke guy, surely she realizes he's got a story too?

  • OMG! Hahaha XD Good Point!

  • that's what i thought!

  • I really miss Amanda, she is so talented. I hope she resurfaces sometime, her songs are great!

  • I drink a cherry coke! XD Cherry coke is awesome aha, seriously. But I loveee this song <3

  • I imagined this music video being more life like

  • I'ts a remarkable song.........I'ts sad...words, mean so much,.... and yet it does not reveal itself so well?.....I;m drunk...great song.

  • ye me love too

  • What a great message! We really dont know people's real life story....

  • who the hell drinks a cherry coke?!?!? haha

i luv the message this song gives....this may sound retarded bt it almost makes me cry cuz of how everyone judges eachother harshly these days

  • @lovinliverpool Ilike cherry fuckin coke

  • We read this song in class, I didn;t like song that much, but it has a good msg

  • beautiful message...X

  • Well, might have 2 comments showing up as I don't see my first one, but AM is worth it

  • Sooo true...this message is powerful

  • Ive always loved this video... havent seen it in years. It still has the same effect on me since High School. ♥♥ Empowering!

  • 1:51 is very cool !!

  • cheary coke !!! lol

  • this song is trying to say something obv.

saying we all have problems. none of them the same. we just all need to get along. what ever race or religion we are. whether we small or big. ugly or beautiful. let your true beauty out. and dont let anyone bring you down. we can all relate to this song.

  • man back in the day when the music was actually music!!

  • Amanda got fierce later on. Damn, girl!

  • They did a good job with this video and i LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • love this song :)

    not the best video ...

    argh...

    anyway. Amanda is awesome

  • now who drinks a cherry coke? love that line... and the wind underneath her skirt... lol

  • Love her!

  • lol we're studying this song in english class baahha

  • This is great song! But one thing I've noticed is the fact that they talk about the wind under their skirts, but they're all wearing jeans. Irony?

  • i love the song but the video is a little odd...but not too bad

  • great song, great message

the only flaw is that i wish they didn't try to put the pop element (the fake background) in the video

  • crappy video, amazing song

  • what a ...

  • facebreaker

  • love this song...

  • You rock amanda marshall and I love that song

  • Love this song

  • this song is ok but ive heard better

  • Aha her boyfriend type character is played by a friend of mine Matt Pearson XD

  • Great lyrics.

See, we need more music like this. I like variety so I won't say there needs to be more of this and less sugar coated crap and crap rap. Just some more of this.

  • M1ke420...you should read up on her before saying that. Better yet, listen to "Shades of Grey" by Amanda, or read the lyrics. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

  • Her videos are usually kinda crappy.

  • this is the first of her vids i've seen. not impressed.

  • you can totaly tell she enjoys getting her salad tossed by all ethnicities.

  • cool song!

  • i love this song good lyrics good music good everything eh oh and if you want check out my videos

  • see my bra underneath my shirt, whatch the wind underneath my skirt.....looooove this songg :)

but the music vid is a lil weird!

  • her face seems really crooked ...I know thats how its always been but its just ..hard to look at personally.

  • yep it is! ...just in the beginning, I dont care for the song either, but thats my personal opinion.

  • Yeah, I guess you are entitled to your own opinion!

  • Marry me Amanda

  • i love this song

  • i like the part wen she poked the bubble kind of!!

  • One of the greatest artists ever. She can entertain while passing along a real message. Rare quality.

  • Cherry coke is the shit

  • in a class on her own and a lady with alot of class

  • i drink cherry coke...

  • i wonder what's the story with soda-guy because she just assume that he wants to get in her pants then she makes fun of him for drinking a cherry coke. She take him sweating for a sign of his lust but not that he's afraid of rejection cuz she might make a quick judgment of who he is.

  • I think she was being sarcastic in the beginning with the cherry coke guy :P

  • pretty sure she was just dissing him and then goes on saying how shallow he is

  • alright. i was just tellin ya my opinion of it

  • hmm.. not the Amanda Marshall I know

  • Not the Amanda Marshall you know? Wtf? Just because it's not a ballad...

She's passing on a powerful message and having a wholesome little bit of fun. Yep, definitely still Amanda...

  • It was just a statement. It has nothing to do with whether or not its a ballad. It wasnt a jab. I actually like this song and this video. no need to get worked up.

  • Now that's a great story!!! So true Amanda - dig deep everyone - don't be scared to show yourself as you really are!!

  • i love her voice and songs, AMANDA you're great!

  • I love Amanda.... She is so friggin talented. wonder if and when new stuff will be out?

  • man i've been trying to figure out who this girl was for long time i heard on the radio a while back and remembered her but forgot her name nad the name of the song

  • I like this song a lot. It's very good. The point of this song is very true... if you look at it the way I do.

  • cheryl crow?

  • Edie breckal?

  • I love Amanda!!

  • The song is cute, young too. But that's by far her best video. She looks gorgeous in it. Maybe it's her youth!? She just comes across very positive.

  • such an amazing song and voice, horrible video bet it wasnt what she was thinking of when she wrote this song!needs more soul

  • Nice song and video, I wonder where she is now!

  • There is nothing more true in this world.

  • She's still performing close to home...will be appearing live @Casino Ramma up in Barrie on SatOct13.

  • I at first wasn't sure about this cd, but I fell in love with it just like I did with the other two cds. The problem is she is sooooooooooooooooo talented and her record company DROPPED HER IN 2003 and that's it, she has vanished. She has the best female voice other than Annie ennox THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD. Amanda where are you? You can't get a record deal, something is WRONG. WHAT A SHAME, WHAT A WASTE!!!!

  • I was so disapointed with This album. she's so talent.

But hey everybody has flops... she'll come back bigger and better!

  • She was dropped by her record company and then vanished. First we need to find Amanda and second we need to know why she doesn't ahve a record deal with that voice. No new music since 2001. IT'S VERY SAD.

  • Her early stuff was so much better.

  • Aw I love her. <3 Such a good song and a good video too. I agree in wondering where she is these days. Beautiful voice too.

  • She's still performing close to home...will be appearing live @Casino Ramma up in Barrie on SatOct13.

  • The video is kinda weird but hey, i've seen worse, but what an amazing song, very inspiring, very true!!!!!
