Tune for the piano for the dear lady, for God's sake. With a golden memory, the least someone could do for her is tune the piano so some semblance of the melody and the REAL harmony would come through, easy to hear. It's wonderful that her fingers are agile and non-affected by arthritis. Praise the LORD.
My grandmother played "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" on an old pump organ they had. It was awesome! She knew a whole bunch of ragtime songs and could really rock them. She lived to be 93 and was just a bright as a little bird until she passed.
SHE RIPPED IT...and for ALL the EVIL folks commenting...it's GOD's GRACE that allowed her to see 100 yrs...and he graces those that have good hearts...hopefully you will be able to live that long!!!
@charliebucket47 Learn to show some respect for the elderly. It just might happen one day... you 'may' get old. I'm sure you would want a more favorable response concerning your age or infirmity. Remember, what goes around... comes back around to you. Plus this lady is very talented.
If I'm not mistaken, this is the great Elsie Fanshaw who made a public vow in 1943 that she wouldn't leave the piano stool until she could play a perfect rendition of smoke on the water. Go Elsie! We'll wait for you. x x x
Selma passed away in 2012 at the age of 103.
