  • Selma passed away in 2012 at the age of 103.

  • @davidwag sorry for your loss, she looks like she was an amazing woman.

  • that is amazing, i think its so beautiful that someone like her can still play

  • No sign of Arthritis then.

  • Tune for the piano for the dear lady, for God's sake. With a golden memory, the least someone could do for her is tune the piano so some semblance of the melody and the REAL harmony would come through, easy to hear. It's wonderful that her fingers are agile and non-affected by arthritis. Praise the LORD.

  • My grandmother played "Waiting for the Robert E. Lee" on an old pump organ they had. It was awesome! She knew a whole bunch of ragtime songs and could really rock them. She lived to be 93 and was just a bright as a little bird until she passed.

  • She is sensational thanks so much

  • Does is matter what she plays? Important thing is that she remembers what piano is!

  • @charliebucket47 Go to hell

  • @charliebucket47 Learn to show some respect for the elderly. It just might happen one day... you 'may' get old. I'm sure you would want a more favorable response concerning your age or infirmity. Remember, what goes around... comes back around to you. Plus this lady is very talented.

  • @charliebucket47 THAT IS SO RUDE HOW DARE YOU

  • @charliebucket47 U R very rude.

  • That means she's 100 now right? Gratz :D

  • YOU GO GIRL!

  • Up with Gramma Selma! We want another video soon

  • She is still playing - and approaching 100... maybe I should contact the Today show?

As for Smoke on the Water, um, I don't think that song was around back then. In any case, this is Selma, not Elsie.

  • @davidwag Yes! contact the Today show or Ellen!

  • Is she still playing?!? I teach a lot of adult restarters - they would be greatly encouraged by this!

  • i didn't know 99 year old hands could work so well! good for her:-D

  • If I'm not mistaken, this is the great Elsie Fanshaw who made a public vow in 1943 that she wouldn't leave the piano stool until she could play a perfect rendition of smoke on the water. Go Elsie! We'll wait for you. x x x

  • This is a beauty a lesson for us kids
