My villager has 200,000 and I have a friend that has 390,000 on his villager.
Not a single major repair for either car.
And yes, because it has the Nissan 300 Z X car engine, it does sound like a sports car. In the Mercury, the engine was modified to be non-interference which means if the timing belt breaks the engine will not destroy itself. Ford insisted on that change or they would not use the engine as Ford does not put interference engines in their cars. Glad Ford did that.
My family has had one for ten years, unfortunately the mechanics putting a new timing belt on mis aligned it by one tooth. The power is gone, it definitely had a lot of power, we beat an impala SS with it one time.
so ur sayin the villager has a z motor from what u stated the z motor was in the maxima hence making the villager have a maxima motor, im just stating what your saying and both models were produced under nissan so........
lol. Say it however you like. VG's were created for Z's and were put in other cars because it's a solid motor. You can say that Maxima has a Villager engine then...which would be stupid but it is just as technically true as what you say. You aren't wrong technically, me not dissin' just teaching.
I have a 1993 villager with 150,000 miles on it, all original and runs like new. No major repairs. The AC is now worn out but that's a long time for that. I have a friend that has an original villager with 285,000 miles on it.
I hope mine lasts that long but I have no desire at all to sell it because is our favorite car of all time.
Ya I think the seats were one of the Nissan parts, but they were actually pretty comfortable (Which is a surprise because most of the other Japanese parts on the car seemed to fail)
we have a 1994 Villager and the first problem on it was the radio! it's made by ford, we just baught a new stereo and will be installing it in a couple of days!
At least you don't have the newer one, the Nissan 3.3L holds up better, but all the Ford parts failed (cluster has always had a bad bulb, no radio display, fixed once, broken again)...
ya i guess, but now ford isn't that bad, their quality rating is up there with Nissan and Toyota now, i remember seeing a video on it on YouTube, it might be in ads13131's favorites
No mods as far as I know of although the engine had to be replaced around 60k (that great Japanese engineering) but other than that it doesn't have any mods, it's just insanely slow.
damn I tried to reply to your comment and accidentally clicked the 'remove' button lol. And no I don't think the back seat was removed I was just on a trip and wanted to see how fast it would go 0-60
The Nissan Quest and Mercury Villager are the same car. Nissan + Mercury worked together to design the car. The engine is primarily Japanese, and the body is primarily American. (Thats why the engine on my '98 villager runs great, but the body is falling to pieces =P )
No wonder the only problemw we've had with this van are with the engine! lol Are there any other parts of this van that are Nissan like the trans or anything?
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy...what in the world is up with you and uploading videos with cars. Are you just trying to make a point that our Dirango sucks butt. Because if you are, congratulations! You proved your point...your Mercury Villager wins, our Dodge Durango loses. hehe. Anyway, nice job...I guess, even though it was only like a 15 second video.

yo goot love the quests and villagers they had the 94 maxima motor in um
Midnightkilla91 2 years ago
94 Maxima motor? Thats laughable. It's a VG. The VG is the 300ZX motor. period. The Maxima has a Z motor. Villager has a Z motor. period.

are the seats american? cause ive been in one of these before and the seats don't look like mercury would have made them

stanbernadino 4 years ago
Huh...most of the parts that fail on my '00 Quest are the Ford ones...
megabyte11 3 years ago 2
The first part to fail on our Villager was the engine which I think is Japanese, and the Air Conditioner, not sure if that part was Nissan or Ford.

The opposite is true of ours; the only problems with it have been the engine and the compressor for the A/C

What?! Mercury Villager's are American. I hear that the 3.0L is made by Nissan but I thought Ford made that.
stanbernadino 4 years ago
iirc it's the vg30de, same motor as the nissan maximas, you can use intakes, turbo, etc off the max
