  • He probably earned some kind of nickname at the station with this vid...reply to me with your best nickname for this guy

  • @ak47mayham the man who killed Bambi's dad...and then saved Bambi

  • Sure, he's a nice guy and all, but does he know how tasty venison is? It is amazing. I would have eaten that deer. Probably its mom, too.

  • HELL YEAH SWARTZ you pick up that deer!

  • aahw i almost cried.

  • How amazing!

  • @MrJeggus

If you could comprehend what you read, you'd notice I said the ignorant people cops deal with deserve to be treated worse than they actually are. This means they are actually treated respectfully overall, despite not deserving it. People hate cops because they don't like being told what to do, because they don't think they deserve tickets, because cops take away peoples freedom. As the old saying goes, don't judge until you've walked a mile in their shoes, which you clearly havent.

  • I find this Officer so caring, it gives me hope that not all people are out to mutulate and purpously hit wild animals with their cars.

You Sir have a golden heart and soul, god bless you.

  • @MrJeggus No, your the idot and moron MrJeggus, your not good enough to lick this officers boots.

  • proprio come lo sheriffo the movie one sheriff extraterrestre little extra e very terrestre ,oliver onions >))

  • More sheriffs and police officers should be more liked that. God Bless him for helping the deer.

  • Deputy Ryan Swartz, bless you for saving rthis little precious doe.

  • I was scared

Thank you for your gentle hand

    We will never meet again

But you will always and forever, be my dearest friend

  • @TheSeer101 DEEREST friend :)

  • @fdbnl :)

  • @31B10 US Army? Alright respect.

  • Very strange that this deer would just stand there, i've never seen one frozen with fear though i have witnessed someone head strike a deer trying to cross the road and keep going, i had to stop because the deer was on its knees in the middle of the road, it had blood coming from its ears, mouth and its nose so i assumed that it wasn't going to make it. I guided her off of the road to a nice sheltered spot until i could get back from a job interview i had.

Glad you could help this one same.:)

  • @31B10 Dumb shit....can you read? I said he WOULDN'T treat criminals with care and concern. Fuck if your an officer no wonder your so fucking slow. 2 years of community college? lmao.

  • Awwwww! This video is so touching! -sniffles-

  • I Would Have Take Home And Cook it..lol..

  • Almost everyone pray to God or a God. Asking. And when that God shows itself to them, most wont see it.

This person, the deputy SAW his God dress as a deer, and he walk up to it, caressed it, carried it, and walked it off the road, he felt it, he lived it.

What we ask in our prayers comes in different shapes, is asking an opportunity to make a difference.

Ask to see, and be ready to see.

    Thank you Ryan!

  • @13triki So true gentle poster, god bless you too!

  • @bubblebathgrl Thank you, and the same for you dear friend!

  • That video is so funny. This guy must be getting a lot of crap at the police department

  • @111skullhaed Probably, but he did a great thing, and I hope others would do the same, even if they need to make fun of such rescues just to save face. :o)

  • This video is so funny. That Guy must be getting a lot of crap at the police department. Lol

  • well, at least there is 1 car/or truck that was not wrecked, and 1 dead deer laying waste along side of the road. you should see M25 between Fort Gratiot, and Lexington, Mi....littered with dead deer, racoons and other animals...

  • Thank you, Deputy Swartz. We need more of people like you on the force. You saved that deer's life while risking yours. Too many people just don't care about animals.

  • this cop is fucking awesome, we should have more cops to do this. poor deer.

  • With that reinforced Bumber he shouldve just ran that deer over lol

  • This cop rocks !!! And I do not like police much.....

  • Nice job deputy--that must have freaked you out wwhen the deer didn't take off running.

  • Juvenile literally scared stiff. Outstanding record of surrender behaviour common to game during predation.

Don't try this at home. Deer can be very aggressive. One just about stomped my cousin into mud hole, back in the day.

  • This is absolutely precious

  • I would have slit its throat and skinned it on the spot

  • What a waste of delicious jerky! (Sorry I don't normally troll, but deer jerky is delicious!)

  • Comment removed

  • Oh deer. I thought it was a fake deer at first!

  • Deputy Swartz, you have just shown the wonderful side most police officers don't get to. Thank you for your kindness.

  • Deputy Swartz you are a credit to law enforcement! Thank you for your service!

  • Finally a video that shows cops doing his job. Can we clone this guy and make more cops like him?

  • Well, no shit it was scared.

That poor thing is just a yearling (hasn't been that long since it lost it's spots i.e. went from Bambi to just a small deer). Adult deer usually have more sense. I'm surprised it walked away as easily as it did. The car must of just tapped it.

  • God bless this man. He has a heart of gold.

  • now even deer are planking...

  • Awesome vid...this just made my day. Deputy Swartz, I know you may get teased from hunters because of this, but you are a hero.

  • Ok, scratch the nice comment I left a minute ago... I just read in the Detroit Free Press that this guy, Deputy Swartz, took the day off to go DEER HUNTING. Seriously? Unbelievable.

  • @dbanimate

being a hunter does not mean you don't have respect for God's creatures. Never has and never will mean that. Hunting and putting meat on the table has been going on since we came out of the trees. In fact, I and many others have a real fondness for animals that end up on the table. Whether the cow, the deer or whatever.

  • If this isn't sweet.! I hope the poor baby hasn't suffered any injuries from the earlier accident. It appears the officer was checking it for injuries. Great video!

  • nicely done deputy swartz : )

  • @31B10 Moron? You think he treats criminals with care and concern? Kid you need to think outside the box before calling others "morons" because your the only moron here.

  • Give this motherfucker the medal of valor. He didn't give a fuck, he picked up a deer, and told it to go home.

  • Yay!! Score one for the good guys!!

  • U da man Deputy swartz! glad to know good people like u still exist

  • o.o so he treats deer's better then actual human beings? o.o

  • @zjcattack

As a police officer, most of the human beings you encounter are ignorant assholes that deserve to be treated worse than they actually are. Animals lack the ability to hate unlike humans so its quite easy to treat animals better... not really that hard of a concept to grasp.

  • @arnoldstwin36 They-most of the people say the same about you police men! Go easy!

  • what a sweet officer.

  • I only hope she doesn't think that all people are nice now...doe you think she will? lol GB

  • what a good man. his hand should never lack for a cold beer.

  • @awon345

    Definitely.

And 12months of free pie & coffee.

  • deputy Swarts, you are a real hero. So much down to earth. God will bless you million times for this. I already blessed you sir.

Thank you for being such an example to all of us humans.

    god speed.

  • Wow! So amazing.

  • Ryan Swartz, you are an amazing person.

  • dEPUTY sWARTZ, thank you FOR SHOWING COMPASSION AND Concern for this poor frightened animal. I only wish I could meet you to buy you a beer and shake your hand.

  • yaaaay!

  • good man

  • Kudos to Ofc Deputy Swartz, a true hero! God bless you for spreading your compassion to Gods creatures, human and wild. So very kind and sweet! You make "all" law enforcement officials appear much more "humane" with such an undeniably incredible act of selflessness. Much kudos. Luv it, Lovy

  • What a crazy deer

  • I saw a dead deer in the middle of the road a few days ago... it looked like it got hit not that long ago cause of its blood. :( I'm glad this deer is alright. That was sweet of Deputy Swartz!

  • Haha! So cute! It's cute how he just picked her up and moved her. Poor thing. I am glad that nothing happened to her.

  • damn now that is what i call Petrified

  • You are my kind of man. Love you for being a role model. There is a place in heaven for people like you.

  • Yes I know it's deer season, but just as we see that as population control. I see with what care and attention this deputy took the life he had before him and made a gentle attempt to ensure the safety of the deer and drivers. He looked her over and calmed her senses. Sure she may be shot later, but if we can stop one doe from being killed without a reason (meet etc.) I think we should shake a man's hand. Happy hunting.

  • First nice thing he did... Haha. Watch it will be a big buch some day and he will be lucky enough to shoot it... Lol

  • awwwww!!! I like! thanks Deputy Swartz!!!

  • Deputy Swartz, THANK YOU! May your kindness be repaid a thousandfold.

  • this is what I imagine how alien abductions happen, we stand there stunned they move us around.

  • Love this.

  • im surprised he didnt give him a ticket ;)

  • Mr. Swartz, you are a really nice guy. Finally some pleasant news on the internet for a change.

  • Parabéns!!!

  • hahahah I saw a link on PETA for this saying something about web sensation. Yeah at 13 thousand that's pretty high. haahaha.

  • You're a good man, Deputy Swartz.

  • Thanks!! Great work. You risked your life on a busy highway to save a deer. That's a hero! That deer is very lucky you were passing by, as were motorists who might have hit the deer and become injured themselves. You could have had more than the loss of the deer. Thanks for caring, and then for posting that it's OKAY to care!! What a GREAT example to live by. Thanks again!

  • @haydn4ever

oh yeah, that's a massively busy highway when NOT ONE CAR went by during the entire video.

  • @kjejmm

I thought about that, but figured the deputy probably had a road block! :) ........give him the benefit of the doubt, kudos never hurt anyone, but being mean does. That's a dark road, and anything could have happened.......he was brave and courageous. :)......

  • @haydn4ever

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he got the deer off the road but more because it sucks for the driver when a car hits a deer. I just thought it was funny you said "busy highway" when there wasn't a car in sight.

  • @kjejmm

Oh, okay! LOL! I too was thankful that he got the deer out of the road!.... Cheers!

  • Good job deputy, I hate seeing deer guts on the road. I'm serious, M-14 from Plymouth to Ann Arbor is stained red in many places due to all the deer-car accidents.

  • You're a HERO! Sometimes we forget that we are the invaders of the animals homes , building houses and highways in what used to be the forest. I'm glad that their are still people like Ryan Swartz joining the police force - people who really want to help. Andy of Mayberry would be proud! Good work!

  • @LennonPhotography I agree with you, but just so you know today was the first day of firearm deer season in Michigan which means the deer was probably killed by a hunter soon after this happened. And if it wasn't shot, it will probably be struck by a car and die, just as 60,000+ deer are in this state every year.

  • Cool video. Thanks, dep.

  • "Seeing Deputy Schwartz pet the deer reminds me of the upstate New York hunters who came across a deer on the ice who couldn't stand up to escape them. They were as startled as the deer was. The son said that although he was "afraid she'd bite me" at first, he reached out and petted the deer and that she was "like a big old dog." He said he'd never hunt deer again." Written by Michelle Sherrow from the PETA files

  • very nice!! good job Deputy Ryan!

  • What a good deed. Thank you for being so kind.

  • good cop (b'.')b

  • No batongs, tazers or 9mm slugs? If only people were treated like that too.

  • Dear Deputy Ryan Swartz, you made my day. Very gentle, very kind, concerned with the drivers but still concerned with the deer. Congrats! Loved it!

    Greetings from Brazil!

  • Awww, that's so lovely!

  • It is impossible to put on paper in rules of all the needs of the people. Some times, imagination and good will are the only thing to do...

  • O deer.

  • He is going to throw out his back, lifting like that.

  • @DasDeutscheProjekt I am sure she was not that heavy. :)

  • Silly deer, you don't belong on a road. You are an animal. I'm gonna put you over here where you're less likely to get hurt. Have fun bro. Watch out for those headlights.
