the album is god as well as the footage, but the only thing that makes my ass tingle with curiosity(lol) is the fact that the filmers didnt think they had the need to show Ehart(drummer) that often. What did they have agianst him?
@cooldudebailey ...tiny drumkit with only one bass drum..not cool in the 70s !..if you didn't display 2 bass drums in the 70s..u sucked..plain and simple!... when Van Halen arrived , they took it up a notch with 4 bass drums! ( perhaps the stupidest unnecessary mockery of performance I ever saw.. but what can u expect from a shitty egotistically ridden group with a gay frontman and a drunk lead guitarist?)
Wow. I forgot all about this song. I love how Steve has to play with one hand while holding the mike. They had to do it all, no samples, triggers or loops.
To "remaster" media means to transfer it a more stable medium for archive and quality purposes. And this footage has obviously degraded beyond its original quality...it needs to be restored before it degrades further.
That version of 'E.T.' wasn't remastered...it was recut. And yes it was a dumb idea.
unfortunatlly, much of the kansas footage is very damaged what you see is the results of work done in the 90s to try and keep it from going away all togeather! technology in 80 was hugh cameras with even bigger tapes, and finding the medium to even replay the tapes is next to imposible, maybe some day we.ll discover and old tv station with the equipment but till then? its a real shame because audio visions was there greatest tour, 1st rock group to pla china, and lil footage if any!
Yeah this album kicks! I hate it when people bash this album and monolith just because they are not quite as good as PONR or leftoverture. There isn't much difference at all.

Only good song off Audiovisions. After that, it was pretty much the end of Kansas. The best period for the band was the period from Song for America to Point of No Return. Monolith was not a good sign, and Audiovisions pretty much confirmed that the band was done.
Oh, you are so, so wrong! The complete album is excellent from head to toe. I agree Monolith took a little drop there but this album went back upwards in music excellence. I will add an additional negative to your post. Not in disrespect to your opinion, just in disagreement.
Somewhere To Elsewhere has but little flaws, It overall was a great album, though it was a still late, Icarus II and Byzantium are tracks from Somewhere to Elsewhere I can't stop listening to, that album deserves some respect considering that the songwriting was the sole work of their catalyst, Kerry Livgren. Every album had their ups and their downs.
This, coupled with "Mask.....", is a real find - except that I am hoping you can post "Got To Rock On", unless the Summit version is especially worse than the studio version - still one of Kansas' most obscure hits (yeah, I know - didn't crack the Top 40 but was a HUGE radio track in the fall of '80.....)
I didn't know Kansas had a black guitar player! Is the lighting terrible on this or what?Still any concert footage of Kansas is always welcome!Thank You kerrylives!
lol that's Richie Williams, he's white, the funny thng is on the DVD with the greatest hit box collection, he faces to palm when he discusses the Kansas videos "again with the stupid hat, where did that come from?" quite a character in person.

I wonder if the show had "No One Together" or "A Glimpse of Home" my two favorite songs from the post-Point of Know Return albums with original lineup.
This was the Audiovisions tour. "No One Together" was definitely part of this tour's playlist. However, "A Glimpse of Home" wasn't on this tour. It was performed on the Monolith tour the previous year.
@cooldudebailey -- Funny thing is, he owns the name now.
@Smithfieldis -- Livegren was very religious and , as the lead songwriter, had the most to say about content. One reason that Walsh left when he did.

is this band about religion..? Love to God & Jesus.. all that stuff?

Power had a few hit or miss, Spirit of Things was okay, Freaks was a bit of a turn around, but Somewhere to Elsewhere is flawless, but still late.

in the spirit of things was a great album, freaks was good.not great. and ste in my opinion sucked big time with the exception of a few songs.

Byzantium is my favorite from that album. Even though Walsh's voice has less tone & range, he really nails that one.
