That tone is incompatible with the orchestra, and with all due respect and love I have for Marty and his style, I doubt he knows how to harmonize with the orchestra. And with harmonize I don't mean musically, but in a "have chemistry" way. Like Yngwie does. Just my opinion.

Marty friedmans Shreds? :) he is my favorite guitarist. This sounded bad. I do not know if its the arrangement that just wont fit together, or the bad sound quality. Sound clips over all the time, and makes it sound like a shitty mix. Great example is 4.44 sounds like cyborgs having conversations.

Next time, a little tip to Friedman, try to stand facing the director and the orchestra. This is mainly horrible because there is no feedback between the soloist and the orchestra.

I mean if you watch Vai do For the Love of God with the orchestra then come to this it makes Marty look like shit. I mean Martys accomplished way more musically than I probably ever will, that being said he is pretty sloppy in a lot of live videos. I think he works better as an amazing lead guitarist than a mediocre virtuoso.

i appreciate marty friedmann much as a metal guitarist since he has no knowledge of harmonic relations ( i read that once) but writes great harmonic music with just his feeling and intuition. but in this video you see that he made some shredding passages that just don't fit there. they sound out of context and more appropriote for a guitar battle.
