@badreligion76 The minor 7 note in an E chord is a D. That's an open low E string (root), second fret on the A string (5th), open D string (minor 7th), the first fret on the G string (major 3rd), open B string (5th octave), and open high E string (root octave).

You can play the third fret on the B string to play a high D note, but I've never played an E7 chord that way.

bar chords are the easiest for me to do for some reason. i have only been playing 4 months or so but i can do them better than open chords. practice some sublime and you will get bar chords down...lol. by the way that's with everyone taking these videos on the bathroom??

there is another way to do the F chord without barring it, it appears it is a bit tougher to switch to this position from Gmajor but it is easier to switch to C from it. make the chord as you would for a bar but only put your index finger on the high E and B strings, bring your thumb on top for the low E (all on the same fret as the bar). otherwise the other 3 fingers are on the same strings/frets as the bar formation.

I think his playing a F major barre chord on the first fret. I think its easier to play then an open F major chord.

Look up E shaped barre chord lessons here on youtube. Justin Sandercoe has some good lessons on barre chords.

Or just pause the vid when he plays it, remember the index finger is pressing all strings on first fret.

I havent been playing too long (about 3 months) & i still find it a bit challenging to master barreing (esp. w/ cyst in wrist). I know that chords w/ related shapes makes it easier when transitioning between chords. anyway, point is: is the easy F chord (when barreing only 1 & 2 strings & etc.) going 2 hinder me? Or would it be easier 2 learn how to barre the entire F chord? wow. i re-read that & i seem Fucking lazy, cos i couldve picked up my own guitar ha

I don't see anything wrong with playing an F power chord instead of a full F chord. For rock music like this, it'll sound fine. Try it out and let me know how it sounds.

Ya. The way i play the F chord is barreing 1&2 w/ 1st finger, 2nd finger on G; 2nd fret & 3rd finger on D; 3rd fret. The alternative to play F major yeah? When i think of power chords, i think of 5th's & usually 3 notes played w/ the same shape. Mixing the power chord w/ major chords didnt sound to good.esp when its the only one power chord used.

Ive been practising this song&will do so more later during the week. got finals/laziness 2 deal w/. i guess i can do a video response or something :P

If you want to play the barre chord though, keep practicing and you'll get it. It seems to me like you're almost there.

Hey bro. I'm sorry it's taking for me so long to do a video response. I was working on it a lot yesterday & was going to have it done Friday...but last night i thought i'd go ahead & put new strings on my guitar & i fucking broke my bridge pin & the other half is stuck in it.
