I dont know if I'm the first to say this, but this is NOT the full show.

I do think the intro was a little much but said really nothing.

The collection is ok- as far as updating the looks, but its not Barbie enough. Barbie is younger and more sparkles and more flirty--- I have collected for years.

And, these models are nothing shapely like Barbie.. omg.. Barbie is more woman than these models that can't even walk in grace with heels on... The opener is pretty amazing, but it feels more like a cynical, mildly mocking view of the ubiquity and untouchable perfection of Barbie rather than a tribute. I guess that's what makes it work.

I guess I am an oddball in that I would expect an intro to a "Barbie 50th Anniversary Show" to at least use a vintage Barbie (the first shown) rather than a repro. I was also disappointed that the fashions, other than the first swimsuit, were not related to the Barbie fashions at all. ie. 1959 gals would not have a dress 6" above the knee unless it were for tennis. I was just just hoping for something that actually related to Barbie and her collectors or fans.

im sorry but i would have to disagree.... yeah, it was a good idea to modernize the origanal fashions, but i think they went a little far with it.. i was looking forword to seeing some cloths that i actually own... but i guess this is more of a high fashion deal then an actual tribute to barbie and her fashion sense...not to offend andyone, but i think they just wanted an oprotunity to use barbie desighns without getting copyright lawsuits on there butts

I am by no way putting down Barbie. I absolutely love her. I, myself, have 150+ of them in my collection. I'm thrilled that her 50th is being recognized so widely. I just didn't think the designer caught her true style. Most of the ones I have, have on really beautiful outfits. So what the -ell ...?
