  • GREAT SCOTT!

  • wow fast dog :)

I'm sure ours is part whippet/greyhound

  • 0_o cheetah?

  • That is so neat!

  • Hey @greyhoundlover12 thats awsome! 1 more question, if I got a puppy greyhound would I be able to raise it to not chase small animals? As I have a small puppy, cat and rabbit :) thanks!

  • The max speed of a greyhound is about 40mph.

  • @pmoor1 the max speed of a greyhound is 45mph

  • @pmoor1 not racing greyhounds there breed to go faster

  • eey' i think your motor was about to fall off. :o

  • Jolimills how about you just leave =)

Novemberfury YOUR DOG IS AMAZING! I am thinking about buying one but we have a rabbit and a cat... Would you be able to email (or any other grey hound owner) If i let it loose in a park will it run off and try attack a young child? thats what im afraid of.

    Thanks =)

  • @Deadfromdubst3p hi im a greyhound expert! let me answer your question:''Would you be able to email (or any other grey hound owner) If i let it loose in a park will it run off and try attack a young child?'' thats what im afraid of. well absolutely not! greyhounds are gentle, loving breeds that do almost perfect with children! but if you let it loose in an unfenced area there is a possibility that if it sees a small animal or car, it might chase it and never come back when caled

  • My greyhound would love that!

  • @jolimills your the idiot for posting that comment you obviously dont know the breed very well..

  • @NovemberFury That's right I'm such an irresponsible pet owner I went and bought a breed of dog I know absolutely nothing about........

  • @jolimills exactly

  • @NovemberFury yeah im with you novemberfury. i am a greyhound expert! it is okay to do that you just give them water after a run! you see if you didnt give it water after the run and treat it poorly then i can see that would be a problem! greyhounds were born to run- its in there bloodlines since about 8,000 years ago, when they hunted hares and coyotes! greyhounds love to run so stop and think, jolimills!

  • @NovemberFury You're.

  • @jolimills This is what these dogs love to do and were built to do. Obviously NovemberFury's dog is so well cared for that it can keep up with the car at this speed. I would guess that your dogs are so out of shape from being your pets that yes you should never try this with them. Poor things...

  • @WaxMeister there is a fence between as is written in description and greyhounds will chase anything in this case she was chasing me... Thanks for your opinion

  • is that about 40, 45 mph

  • This is what the dog is bred to do... RUN! Racing for sport and running for joy are two completely different things!

  • What is 75kmph.. 25?

  • Greyhounds are amazingly fast and it is fine to race like this but in proper races i think it's just cruel.

  • Love this video - posted a link on my Facebook page. That is simply amazing...

  • gorgeous dog, i have 2 myself, and making a greyhound run for such long periods of time is nothing other than cruel

  • @cute2374 Not cruel at all. It was about 30 seconds. My greyhound stops when she gets tired. His could stop, too. She wasn't being forced.

  • this dog is soo amazing in every aspect..

  • holy crap!

  • Wow!...that guy can move!...and whats more...he doesn't pollute the planet!...Mother Nature Rulez!

  • just to clarify, 75 km/hr is about 46 mph lol, average speed limit for most roads. impressive nonetheless, go chelsea!

  • WOW... That Is SO impressive!!!!!

  • Let's all agree that our school system needs some work. READ, PEOPLE!

  • ppl are fuking dumb, it says 75 kilometers per hour -.-

  • wow, that's cool, thanx for sharing

  • She's beautiful. Still, what if she'd gotten overexcited and tried to run to you? She could have been seriously hurt.

  • @cadmiumblue there is a fence in the way

  • @minispecs123 Dogs can sometimes behave unpredictably, and can jump and climb fences. I'm sure the poster of this video knew how to deal with the situation, but still, that's something I just wouldn't do. I couldn't take the chance.

  • 70?!!!!!?? Mph crazy!!

  • @27Baileigh 75 KMPH, Kilo Meters. In MPH It's roughly 46.6 miles an hour.... but it's still very fast and still pretty amazing :-)

  • Greys are the best!

  • That's a really fast dog! I wish my dog was as fast as that. Nice vid by the way

  • Incredible footage... thank you for posting! Nature is awe inspiring!

  • that's fucking awesome...enough said.

  • That's top speed- beauty in motion. I ove my 3 greys !

  • awesome i used to do that out in kansas when i got my first greyhound i would turn her loose in a wheat field and hop in the car and take off as fast as i could go on that dirt road and she would keep up i clocked her @ 43 mph ............ NO ONE KEEPS A LAMBORGHINI CONFIED TO A TRAILER PARK...... THEY TAKE IT OUT ON THE INTERSTATE AND LET IT DO WHAT IT WAS MADE TO DO!!!!!!

  • Nice! 75kph Fast greyhound built for speed.

  • Superb video.

  • geeze how old is that car lol

  • Greyhounds are the 18th Fastest Land mammal, they reach speeds of upto and around 55 MPH around about what Chelsea was doing there. Only the top top dogs who are trained to race (and i mean proper top dogs) can reach upto 60MPH but not much more. What distance did Chelsea run, i had a Greyhound who used to run the slightly longer 645M races, she wasnt great as she liked to chase rather than lead so she didn't win too many but usually top 3 so was always a good bet (Trio) on her at the track

  • @sedonajet you have your numbers wrong, or your terms wrong. these dogs can not run that fast. Take two seconds and research this... especially since you claim to have had one, you should know better.

  • You could see her going through her gears! She looks like she has a transmission.

  • this one goes on my fav list

  • what is 80km in miles per hour ? (I'm in UK, we do MPH....). We say grey hounds are 40 miles an hour couch potatoes. LOL ! Is it faster than that? Dude, I was worried you were going to crash the car as you were filming speedometre instead of looking at road. When it went black I was like, "what happened to this guy....AAAAAARRRHH !!!! "

I have a retired racer. Beautiful breed. He sprints to the front door after morning walk... but only for his breakfast ! Otherwise sleeps 24 / 7

  • @sunray1100

    80kmph is about 50mph

  • Wow, I bet she would have made an amazing racer in her time! Amazing video and dog.

  • OMG !!

  • @shodanhalo read discription before making silly comments...

  • i luv this dog i luv the way greyhounds run and yours is beautiful :D

  • Wow impressive. Dont worry about these moron comments, thick people who clearly dont know anything about dogs much less greyhounds should keep their opinions to themselves. Go Chelsea.

  • @freeroller1000 cheers top comment!

  • @NovemberFury HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

That's all I could say when I saw the title. I heard Racing Greyhounds can run around 60km'san hour but 75km's? That shits insane.

I thought my staffy x ridgeback was fast and she can only run around 40km's.

  • @NovemberFury u should put her in a race maby

  • Which one is faster a whippet or a greyhound?

  • @PoliceObsessed a whippet is faster but they dont have the stamina.

  • @PoliceObsessed greyhound

  • 46.5 mph

  • beauty

  • i wish my lab ran dat fast

  • Wow!

very impressive, and beautiful also <3

  • Comment removed

  • Did you know.... The most car speed meters is around 5 kmph before the acctual speed ;) so the dog is probably running as the greyhound general speed that is 70 kmph :) amazing dogs arent they?

  • cool!! i thought they only chased rabbits, didn't know they would follow your car.

  • 0:14 Am I reading that spedometer right? It looks like it's reading 70mph! That's incredible!

  • @shinseimori its actually in kilometres per hour.

  • @shinseimori it would be more like 58-60kph. If it was running 70mph it would be the wordl record holder by a country mile!

  • @shinseimori I think its KM

  • DANG! OMG!SNUFFLUFAGUS!WOWZA! FAST!

  • put her in the derby

  • They not only love to run, they need to run and get it out of their system. He doesn't think he's being left behind, he's a sighthound, he's up for the chase.

  • Since dogs chase cats, I bet a Cheetah would get caught by your dog. Super fast...

  • Amazing!

  • Incredible

  • yay! Britain wins again!

  • BORN TO RUN ! lol

These dogs were used by Egyptians as hunters, and were literally seen as GODS. They are heavily featured in Egyptian writings (heiroglyphs)

  • THAT GRAYHOUND WAS GOING AS FAST AS A CHEETAH AND IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET A GRAYHOUND FASTER THAN A CHEETAH.

  • @akilddddd Cheetah can clock 90mph for short distances.

  • WOAH!! AMAZING! <3

  • that's how my dog runs but she's a pit bull lab mix not a greyhound

  • amazing

  • Wonderful Dog.

  • The greyhound most definately is the second fastest land animal, because behind the cheetah, it accelerates to full speed the fastest.

  • @iZenSoda if you're going to say it's the fastest at accelerating, then say "it's the fastest at accelerating." That doesn't make its speed the fastest. This isn't an argument, it's a common fact. Many other animals run faster than greyhounds... acceleration has nothing to do with it. That's like saying a corvette is faster than a rocket.

  • @aarossell Thanks for proving me right. Speed equals distance divided by time. Therefore, faster acceleration means faster speed. Top speed is a different matter, but in no point in your post did you specifically mention "top speed." Finally, a corvette faster than a rocket? You would actually make sense if a Corvette could accelerate faster than a rocket, but it can't. A rocket accelerates faster and has a higher top speed than a Corvette, just like a Cheetah is quicker than a Greyhound.

  • @iZenSoda yeah I'm no scientist, bad example. Sorry, that doesn't make it's TOP speed the fastest, which I figured we were all interested in anyway. But you bring an interesting point, who would win a 100 m race, an antelope or greyhound? If it's the distance that matters... perhaps greyhounds are second fastest to cheetahs. Still, I think we're more interested in knowing the "top speed" of the fastest animals.

  • @aarossell You're right, sorry. Just got kinda caught up in that since I had a greyhound. They're plenty of animals with a faster top speed.

  • Wow thats fast!

  • She does like it! How can ya make a dog run if they don't want to? Trust me if a dog doesn't wanna run they won't!

  • @NovemberFury actually the dogs get wound up to race. should go to a dog track to see how it works.

  • @hodgoberro Yep ive actually raced greyhound for a number of years got a pretty good idea how it all works

  • @semogoer you FAIL for not reading the video description

  • respect man, that dog runs 80km per our???

  • @BobRawksBaby They are very loyal, and they make absolutely superb pets, especially for families with children. Look elsewhere if you want a guard dog though, because Greyhounds are definitely NOT suited to that role. They are are one of the most people-friendly and gentle/laid-back breeds in existence. They have no guarding instinct whatsoever, as they've never been bred for that purpose.

  • @PassionatelyPurple Agreed. They are more likely to kiss an intruder than bark at one unless they were hiding under the bed waiting for him to go away! They make excellent pets. Cuddly love bugs that can go very fast.

  • Surprised a Commodore could keep up with a Grey Hound!

  • @Thewoog try the Pronghorn

  • @semogoer there is a fence between

  • Lol Pwnt.

  • Impressive!!! But weren't you worried she may get a bad idea to get too close to your car, or worse, someone elses?? I would have been too scared. My neighbors used to exercise their dog the same way.... lol. What a beautiful hound you have though.

  • Woww, that's awesome!!! My whippet loves running, too. X3 When I get her riled up, she freaks out and runs circles around the couch and usually knocks me over. XDD

  • This is why Greyhounds are the second fastest land animals in the world. Only second to the cheetah.

  • @babyin80 Actually there are a dozen or so common land animals, including lions, antelopes, and quarter-horses, who are faster than greyhounds. It's okay though, you're a "baby" and have much to learn.

  • @aarossell is the quarter horse faster than the thoroughbred? At the kentucky derby do they race quarter horses?

  • @aarossell is the quarter horse faster than the thoroughbred? At the kentucky derby do they race quarter horses?

  • @brothersixteen no clue

  • @brothersixteen Quarter horses are faster than thoroughbreds in short spurts, but they run out of energy easily.

  • @brothersixteen for top speed, yes, it's faster. That's why they call it a "quarter" horse. Runs the quarter mile. A sprinter.

  • Zoom,! zoom,! zoom! Thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks.

  • That's insane

  • s0 fast dog..

  • He say 80 Kilometers per hour not miles per hour

  • well nvm about the 80mph shit. I don't trust that source. But i do know that they do 0-40mph in a few strides. They did a greyhound vs mazda mx-5 episode on top gear.

  • Yeah that source is not right at all... even if it's Kmph, not mph, it wouldn't be 80 kmph. No greyhound dog has ever in the history of recording speed run 80 kmph. The dog in this video is your classic fast-as-hell greyhound clocking in around 75kmph. Again, not mph. Along with doing research, try using your logic. It will keep you from sounding foolish.

  • aarossell, even with 75km/h, the dog could exceed speed limits. Who will pay the fine?

    (\_/)

    0_o

  • Either the devil, or God. I haven't decided who yet.

  • @debrainwasher And what sort of fine would they pay? No dinner tonight?

  • jess1541, that's the big question, indeed.

In my country (Switzerland) the owner of the animal found guilty has to pay speed fines. The law was intended for riders.

  • btw the greyhound that was clocked over 80mph (wind assisted) was dubbed "Cheetah".

  • DAMN!!!!! She's fast!

  • Mines an ex racer too but he can't run as fast as that because he is bigger than a normal greyhound.

  • Lol, great video. Why do people keep saying "ooh, greyhounds don't like to run, it's cruel" my greyhound loves stretching his legs (it's straight back to the sofa afterwards though lol). Also, you can clearly see the fence in that video, it isn't dangerous.

  • @PaddyMcHugh1 ya i know the only thing thats cruel is greyhound racing

  • @xismxist... your an idiot, the greyhound the the second fastest land mamal

  • The 2006 edition of the Guinness Book of Records records the highest recorded speed for a greyhound at 41.83 miles per hour

  • do at least a little bit of research and thinking before attempting to insult someone. And if you need to call someone an idiot, it's "you're".

  • I used to train my lurcher out of season on a sand beach using my car, Black Rock sands in north wales. Regularly hitting speeds in excess of 35mph. It's the greatest way of building stamina and speed.

  • wow.. this is amazing. I can clearly see the fence... Not sure what the fuss is about. You can tell the dog was barely running at first and then put it into gear. Amazing watching them run.. I just adopted one.. he has a bummed leg tho. :(

  • @xismxist

well im sorry but you would die hahaha

  • @ChrizPee1 we all will sooner or later...

  • ..unless the dog was behind a fence - cannot tell if this is the case.

  • @weeb59 I'm just thinking... maybe this dog isn't dumb enough to get himself run over... and the driver is probably not dumb enough to not stop if he starts veering in front... just saying.

  • just to put the record straight there is a fence between us if you pay closer attention

  • Its crazy and irresponsible to let a greyhound run off-leash anywhere near a car.

  • the dog probably thinks they are leaving him behind he is just trying to keep up

  • its a she.. yeah she hates running and is only doing it because she is sad.. hmm makes no sense either way. Truth is she LOVES running and trying to beat the car all my dogs do

  • your video is a fraud

  • @NovemberFury If she doesn't like it, then why make her do it..

  • @travisbob12 lol

  • a run along with a cheetah would be fun

  • @lgnij why cheetah? thats a slaught... even a slow gray wolf or hyena will easily outrun any greyhound

  • dude the greyhound is the 2nd fastest land mammal. Why would you say it's slower than a gray wolf or hyena? lol

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! LMAO! a greyhound wouldnt even make it to a top 10 list

  • How are you forgetting antelope, lions, and quarter-horses? all of these animals can clock above 50 mph. You guys need to stop saying they're the 2nd fastest land mammal...it's not close to true.

  • @aarossell

antelope, lions, and quarter-horses have clocked around 50-55mph. However, the fastest record of a greyhound running, and Ill add to the fact that it was running with the wind (wind assisted) was over 80mph. And, they are in fact the 2nd fastest at accelerating with no argument at about 0-40mph in 2-3 strides, which is less than a second.

  • You're an idiot too. No greyhound has ever reached 80 mph and lions don't run 55 mph.

  • I'm not an idiot you illiterate fool. In case you can't read, I took back what I said about 80mph. And, Lions are known to have reached around 50mph.

  • You're an idiot.

  • Holy shit...You've trained her, I'm guessing?

(Don't respond like, "OFCOURSE HE DIDN'T DUMBASS, GREYHOUNDS ARE THAT FAST PERIOD, FUCKING IDIOT," Because I have better stuff to do than search up trivia of a dog.)

  • hey yeah I trained her.. some dogs dont go up that stright or they dont put in as much.. this bitch loved it and yeah training a dog to run fast involves quite a bit but very rewarding..

  • And entertaining. Awesome dog man.

  • @NovemberFury i know its the correct term but calling them bitches just seems so demeaning, heh

  • lol!

  • dean karnazes (ultramarathon man)could run longer than a horse for sure!!

  • @Grubbsable i trained my lucy with my bike, she loves that....and she still undefeated!☺

  • What a beautiful dog!

  • That is incredible! She is beautiful!

  • Look at that bitch run!!! -Giggle- Its funny because i get
