  • yawn, had to be a really boring show inspite of the cool tunes not much for stage presence really,so it is reasonable then to bring some form of extra entertainment,or be the entertainment.

  • Let's think about this.... This Great Band Kraftwerk started out in the 1960's.... Wow... We can learn to stay tune with the time just like Kraftwerk does.... The secret is evolve with the times.... Let's face it, Kraftwerk is one of the Greatest Band ever.....

  • @RappoldXJay what a load of crap, they're not building the samples and sequences live, they're just hitting the key so they start to play at the right time and jerking the pitch once in a while so it look like they are actually doing something, an infant could do this

  • typical ignorant comment. It is true they use samples, but most of their songs in live performances are played in the moment (keyboard, vocoder and custom gear that produce the sounds). it's also worth mentioning that they made most of their own gear and all of their samples/sounds effects

I dare you to watch their performances from 1981 to 2009 and tell me the same comment again with valid reasons

  • @Hells616 Woohoo! Way to go! You tell em! :D:D:D

  • great electronic music..man..damn.....cool..

  • what is the track id ?

  • and I thought all Pioneers carried axes....

  • are they really doing anything up there with the laptops ?? me wonder...

  • @LatinPercussion shame on you...

  • For me, I think the crappy camera audio quality adds to this song. Idk what it is, I just think this is better than the high quality ones these guys record for Minimum Maximum. Eh, whatever. <3 Kraftwerk. Forever.

  • These guys are just...legends...whew..and I got the 12 inch..I screamed... I love how they make techno universal. And how it rolls out when they play it...very educational and welcomed here

  • @Longniddrie

Quote:"It was shite when they played it in Marquee tents to drugged out weirdos and its shite now."

The music never was shite, whats shite is the bullshit they spend millions promoting today that covers up real artists and sometimes never gives them a chance. 90% of todays music has no substance especially hip hop. Oh and theres no difference to the drug addicts in todays club, just the drugs they use =) these dudes are definitely pioneers and always will be noted as such.

  • tron

  • DJ or no DJ. The bottom line is that Kraftwerk's music is timeless and the young "Generation-Text" is breakdancing to it. Kraftwerk's music is making a comeback because it is music that can be listened to "non-stop" with the right DJ cutting and scratching it up. Kudos to whoever posted this for our listening pleasure!

  • Also if there were no DJ's how would Kraftwerk get their music to the fans? If you haven't noticed Kraftwerk's music was designed to be played in clubs and mixed by DJ's. The music they make is not just a spectator sport, listening music, or radio music. Example Numbers was easily mixed with Planet Rock, Alnayfish, 122BPM, Clear and others. I was playing those songs in 1995 rocking college crowds 13 years after they were released in 1982. If DJ's are no talent get up on stage and do better!

  • I think of it because it sounds like in some instances of this song there's a scratching record. That would sound nice for the mash-up I've planned: Propellerheads and Kraftwerk. "A number of Microphones" and "Music NON STOP" If I can get the right tempo, that is.

  • hey @machiner6

ableton will put them both at the tempo u desire....

so get to work and post it up for us to hear

  • @cosmicgiggle1 Unfortunately I can't, because I don't have the stuff for mixing. However, I did make a tribute to this song. It's "Music Non Stop: OBSIDIAN cover".

  • uh... when kraftwerk started with their "trademark" style in 1974, djs didn't exist, at least not the kind who mix records. saying that kraftwerk music (especially the older stuff) was somehow specifically designed as club music is completely ignoring the historical context. they also sued afrika bambaata over sampling numbers and trans europe express.

  • This is for that dumbass clownpants. DJ's are not hacks. They play others music at the demand of the crowd. WTF do you want? I never seen a pianist, guitarist or even a band for that matter rock the crowd for hours playing their own music. Guess what bands have to play others music too! It's called a "cover" you idiot! I am a DJ and I went to school for music and I am no where near a hack! I play others music and create my own from scratch with no samples or samples when I feel like it.

  • kraftwerk é muito bom. parabens

  • They rwak out man!

  • Jeeze people. I didn't say Kraftwerk sucks or anything. I was just pointing something out. No need to get so defensive.

  • the masters!

  • how dare you diss kraftwerk...where were your d.js in 1975?...still in nappies...and its got nothing to do with d.j-ing by the way check the keyboards not mixing desks....ORIGIONATORS not followers

  • It's funny how even though this music is awesome, the same thing can be created on the fly by one DJ with the right equipment, yet they have four people collaborating this.

Not that I'm dissing Kraftwerk. They're still the original techno group.

  • dj's are musical butchers, in a metaphorical way, not entirely negative, although many are awful

  • djs just play stuff back. kraftwerk are doing all of this live.

  • @RappoldXJay Believe me it's not live. Most of it is recorded on a ADAT. Think about it where is the drummer LOL? Watch when vocals can be heard do you see any of the singing? Only thing They might be doing is playing some of the keyboard parts live and then I don't even see keyboards LOL. That might be laptops and they are watching youtube videos are something LOL

  • @Bach0054 it's live in the sense that they're controlling the sequencers and stuff in real time, or at least that's what ralf hütter says. and yeah those are computers what's the big deal? also if it was playing from ADAT , they couldn't improvise on the songs which they do. what i meant to illustrate was that it's a couple of notches above djing in terms of its "live-ness", it's still not the same as playing instruments of course, that kinda goes unsaid.

  • @Bach0054 "Where is the drummer", you asked?? You can't be serious. Which instrument do you think cannot be electronically duplicated EXACTLY -- live, onstage ? And this is a frigging 2006 concert!.. They've been using electronic drumsets since the 1970s.

  • @RappoldXJay Not really they will have programs to play the music so all they are doing is pressing a few buttons.

  • @RappoldXJay how live are we talking about?

  • YOU tell me where your so called "dj's" could get the money for the synthesizers and vocoders to recreate kraftwerk? yeah....no, djs are crap! they have no talent. music should rid of djs! hate all of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KRAFTWERK IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @obliviousfafnir01 exactly, yes they can do this now, but back then, things started with analogue synths and everything had to be timed by ear, and a lot more work was required. plus there have always been 4 members of kraftwerk

  • Sorry - DJ's are hacks. Not some of 'em - all of 'em. They play other people's music and that's it. It the perfect non-talent for the brain-dead YouTube generation.

  • It was shite when they played it in Marquee tents to drugged out weirdos and its shite now. However youtube giving new life to bands like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode etc doesnt fit in with the idea that its the youtube generation who are braindead.

  • Are you saying Kraftwerk are DJ's?

  • huh?

A DJ "mixes" prerecorded music, so there is no "on the fly". These guys wrote this from scratch.

  • I think at 7:51, the vocalist is looking at his watch or something, and thinking, "Whoa! Look at the time, gotta go!"

  • No, no, that's not it. But what IS he doing?

  • I seriously think it's a watch. He was pulling back the sleeve and looking at his wrist. What else could it be?

  • 1. Wrist mounted remote MIDI trigger.

    2. An itchy Mole

    3. English translation of the title of the next song.

    4. Making an obvious allusion to how long the song is.

  • Y'know, I once tried to draw this band performing "Computer World" on a strange planet of machines. Unfortunately, though, I had to exaggerate their faces a little because of such a small view. Like, I made the 4th guy look like George Harrison because I couldn't remember their looks. Still, the rest turned out fine. I even drew a robot with a blowtorch to mimic the thing that fans do at concerts with lighters.

  • I like how some of the dudes are dancing to the music.

  • I agree with karlbartosfan : AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !!

  • I love onomatopoeias.

  • Wow, have they aged. Haven't seen them since the 80's.

  • the vocalist shows the biggest change. looks almost like my Dad's father.

  • one of the best versions i have ever heard

    AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++

  • Yeah, yeah...Kraftwerk is the pioneer of electronic music. I saw them at Bratwurstfest 2009 in Prague. I think I actually saw one of the members of the band smile! Brilliant!!

  • What is the first voice saying music non stop?

  • @ JPVbio: take a book and study the history of electronic music IN THE CHAPTER 1 you can found the KRAFTWERK.

THE GOOD MUSIC "dying" THROUGH PEOPLE AS YOU, COVERING THE BRITNEY SPEARS CDS.

    PEACE & MUSIC

    F+++

  • XD thanks

  • they must be thinking: these idiots think that we are making something

  • They'r far more imaginative and creative fellows than YOU'L ever be.

  • what are they doing with the laptops???

  • They have keyboards as well: Ralf and Henning play melodies with them ( that thing that classical trained pianists as them can make, do you know?) and they manipulate the sound all the time. I understand the listener should have ears to appreciate the sound is changing all the time and we feel sorry if you suffer such disability. Don't worry, you are welcome anyway ;)

  • this are n t laptops, there are super nintendos with lcd monitors and they play super mario with this music.lol

  • good answer!! but I think if they are playing the legend of zelda rsrsrs

  • If you didn't know, these guys were among the pioneers of electronica in the 1970s , Respect is due, thanks

  • lol

  • lol!

  • Woooow..... Kraftwerk is the best! Super... weiter so.....

Isso é show, né?

  • To all the idiots saying that they suck- (most of you saying that were either not born yet or in diapers when they first started), if it wasn't for Kraftwerk, there would be no Depeche Mode, or any electronic influenced bands out today!!

  • It doesn't matter how old they are, Kraftwerk doesn't really age.

Its just that they don't know what music is - uneducated idiots.

100 years from now you'll read the words, Mozart, Beethoven, Rossini along with Hutter and Schneider.

  • kraftwerk is not music it is ART !!you cab sat what you lika about art but it not suppsed to be beutiful all the time . but what kraftwerk did and (and do ) is history för art (and music). thank ralf and florian for all historical moment you gave us ..

  • well said mate

  • Esto sí es hacer música, Yes!!

  • some reason the guys are kinda sexy *blush*

  • nice techno music, good for shaking

  • ok... no traen nada

  • no traen nada estos maestros

  • Piss off Mexican, what have your people contributed to music???

  • Guess you never heard of Hoccico, kick ass TBM :)

  • you go fck yourself and mind your own busines sshole

  • lol you're just mad because you've never had any decent music come out of your shit country.

    Kraftwerk is incredible!

  • no, im mad because people dont understand that the greatness in music is diversity, not everyone likes kraftwerk as no everyone likes the beatles, saludos muchacho

  • @ziegenbockhau

    lol hell yea!

  • I believe Kraftwerk are pioneers of music created by electronic instruments ,theyve done there own thing and CONTINUED to do so terminoligy like techno and pop are just commercial ideas made up by exec's that have no true love for music just look at music today.

  • as being a rock music fan, I find that techno music is absolutely shit, but Kraftwerk are amazing, they use computers to enhance the effect of their instruments, not like todays techno music where a retard hits random buttons on a keyboard and they get a number 1. hit, and Kraftwerk actually appear on stage, not like todays techno's, where they have a hi-fi inthe middle of the stage while they do fuck all. Techno= shit, Kraftwerk= Fucking fantastic!

  • you really don't know anything about electronic music dude... shame on you for a comment like that

  • All i was saying was, that Kraftwerk uses techno to enhance their instruments, where as dance and modern electronic music, you don't need to play an instrument because they use computers to do it all for them, example= Muse- use techno to enhance the song/ instruments, and Scooter- just uses electro to provide the instruments. And i was stereotyping modern dance/ techno music.

  • i don´t agree.

what you mean, is not techno. you mean popmusic, who get an number one hit.

techno means the music of kraftwerk and many musican followd their idea of music an created an new style of communication with sound.

i find, it is very poor to use words like you. maybe you like rock music, okay. but, du you think really, "rockmusic" like roxette or tokio hotel is more than bullshit? ;-)

  • mate, dont be ignorant towards techno.kraftwerk it techno weather you like it or not.i listen from daf ,to a certain ratio, from punk to elo.i would be very ignorant to say that all rock music is shit.when i tell people i listen to techno i always have to laugh at there reaction.its like i have insulted there love of r&b,rock music.man iam a music lover, not hater.peace

  • I wasn't insulting Kraftwerk, as I admire Kraftwerk like I admire Stephen Hawking, which is a lot, and i admit that rock music isn't safe from mediocrity e.g. Revenge Seven Fold (if i am correct), and moxxomoxxom, i do agree with your statement, some rock music is bullshit, and maybe I am sometimes ignorant, bit that is just me. So there, all i was doing was complementing Kraftwerk.

  • The number 1 hit retards you mention are in all styles of music, don´t think that rock Is safe from crap and mediocrity, if you do so, you are a close minded douche.

  • Don't listen Scooter dude! Try: Adamsky, BT, The Crystal Method, NEO, Paul Okenfold, Starecase... etc... BUT! Do not listen D.J.s! They just mixin the musics. Like Tiesto...

  • I've got mates that obsess with rock music but don't give for kraftwerk. i wish they had your atitude ;P

  • zarpado

  • This is the best performance of any band ever.

  • nice...

  • Music non stop,

    Musique parfait...

  • Great visual, great music, great show.

  • I saw them in Athens live in the summer of 2005!!!! Maybe not the best show I've ever been but it was GREAT!! I especially remeber this particular song :) ........ As a friend before me stated, they may not give a real conventional show, but if you're there... man, you're captivated... quality of sound .... huge displays... visual effects... and ofcourse sound effects that you least expect come and fit the rhythm so perfect.............

  • Boing Peng Bum Tschak

  • The godfathers of techno.

  • THE BEST TECHNO MUSIK

  • Yes, exactly.

And that's what is cool about them.

    (this and some other things)

  • Kraftwerk don't need to jump around on stage. They let the music speak for itself. Also, as they are from Germany, I think they may be funning with their audience by playing on the stereotype of the highly efficient, stoical German.

  • if you dont like how they perform. then dont watch them.

  • Kraftwerk are - in spite of their fondness for technology and futuristic themes - upholding a very classical stance on what it means to be an artist. Compare it to this:

You don't see a classical symphony orchestra, where the first violinist suddenly jumps up and do a headspin or backflip just to "entertain" the crowd. That would detract the audience's focus from where it ought to be: on the music, on the art. Not on the band members themselves or on any cheap gimmick they might employ.

  • a classical sumphony orchestra entertains me...apart from the fact that the music they play is far more complex than kraftwerk`s...they etertain the crowd by alot of things....like syncronizing their instruments ..or the way they play them....u really can`t compare them to kraftwerk..(and I was kidding when I said that they should do a backflip...it was just an example of something entertaining....I don`t need an artist to jump around on stage, but I don`t want him to just stand there either)

  • i feel u bro.LMMFAO!!! i grew up on these cats bein a dj.they had da skating rinks on LOCK!! your rite tho, they do just stand there, but listen2wut da fuck theis doi tho...ITS DOPE ASS TECHNO AT ITS FINEST!!!! REAL TALK.

    be easy fam..LMMFAO

  • To lentzi: You are an @sshole lentzi. They are the legend of music. They donot need to show off my hopping, screaming and all that. Their music speak all.

  • Do I really have to explain these to you?!

    you 'didn't insult' anyone?

you commented below like "this music is inferior to what i listen to" so people who like or even love kraftwerk's songs are insulted.

    and I'M INSULTED TOO.

everyone has his or her taste in music. and those taste- genre...cannot be superior or inferior to others. it's about 'favorite', alright?

  • fine...

  • I saw this show twince in Brazil.

    First time in Sao Paulo, 1998;

    Second in Brasilia, 2004.

The best show i've seen ever... and ever... and ever.

  • Saw them live @ the Hammerstein Ballroom. Dope show
