The music never was shite, whats shite is the bullshit they spend millions promoting today that covers up real artists and sometimes never gives them a chance. 90% of todays music has no substance especially hip hop. DJ or no DJ. The bottom line is that Kraftwerk's music is timeless and the young "Generation-Text" is breakdancing to it. Kraftwerk's music is making a comeback because it is music that can be listened to "non-stop" with the right DJ cutting and scratching it up. Kudos to whoever posted this for our listening pleasure!
Also if there were no DJ's how would Kraftwerk get their music to the fans? If you haven't noticed Kraftwerk's music was designed to be played in clubs and mixed by DJ's. The music they make is not just a spectator sport, listening music, or radio music. Example Numbers was easily mixed with Planet Rock, Alnayfish, 122BPM, Clear and others. I was playing those songs in 1995 rocking college crowds 13 years after they were released in 1982. If DJ's are no talent get up on stage and do better!

Y'know, I once tried to draw this band performing "Computer World" on a strange planet of machines. Unfortunately, though, I had to exaggerate their faces a little because of such a small view. Like, I made the 4th guy look like George Harrison because I couldn't remember their looks. Still, the rest turned out fine. I even drew a robot with a blowtorch to mimic the thing that fans do at concerts with lighters.
Yeah, yeah...Kraftwerk is the pioneer of electronic music. I saw them at Bratwurstfest 2009 in Prague. I think I actually saw one of the members of the band smile! Brilliant!!
They have keyboards as well: Ralf and Henning play melodies with them ( that thing that classical trained pianists as them can make, do you know?) and they manipulate the sound all the time. I understand the listener should have ears to appreciate the sound is changing all the time and we feel sorry if you suffer such disability. Don't worry, you are welcome anyway ;)

I believe Kraftwerk are pioneers of music created by electronic instruments ,theyve done there own thing and CONTINUED to do so terminoligy like techno and pop are just commercial ideas made up by exec's that have no true love for music just look at music today.

I saw them in Athens live in the summer of 2005!!!! Maybe not the best show I've ever been but it was GREAT!! I especially remeber this particular song :) ........ As a friend before me stated, they may not give a real conventional show, but if you're there... man, you're captivated... quality of sound .... huge displays... visual effects... and ofcourse sound effects that you least expect come and fit the rhythm so perfect.............

Kraftwerk don't need to jump around on stage. They let the music speak for itself. Also, as they are from Germany, I think they may be funning with their audience by playing on the stereotype of the highly efficient, stoical German.
Kraftwerk are - in spite of their fondness for technology and futuristic themes - upholding a very classical stance on what it means to be an artist. Compare it to this:
You don't see a classical symphony orchestra, where the first violinist suddenly jumps up and do a headspin or backflip just to "entertain" the crowd. That would detract the audience's focus from where it ought to be: on the music, on the art. Not on the band members themselves or on any cheap gimmick they might employ.

@obliviousfafnir01 exactly, yes they can do this now, but back then, things started with analogue synths and everything had to be timed by ear, and a lot more work was required. plus there have always been 4 members of kraftwerk

Y'know, I once tried to draw this band performing "Computer World" on a strange planet of machines. Unfortunately, though, I had to exaggerate their faces a little because of such a small view. Like, I made the 4th guy look like George Harrison because I couldn't remember their looks. Still, the rest turned out fine. I even drew a robot with a blowtorch to mimic the thing that fans do at concerts with lighters.

They have keyboards as well: Ralf and Henning play melodies with them ( that thing that classical trained pianists as them can make, do you know?) and they manipulate the sound all the time. I understand the listener should have ears to appreciate the sound is changing all the time and we feel sorry if you suffer such disability. Don't worry, you are welcome anyway ;)

as being a rock music fan, I find that techno music is absolutely shit, but Kraftwerk are amazing, they use computers to enhance the effect of their instruments, not like todays techno music where a retard hits random buttons on a keyboard and they get a number 1. hit, and Kraftwerk actually appear on stage, not like todays techno's, where they have a hi-fi inthe middle of the stage while they do fuck all. Techno= shit, Kraftwerk= Fucking fantastic!

All i was saying was, that Kraftwerk uses techno to enhance their instruments, where as dance and modern electronic music, you don't need to play an instrument because they use computers to do it all for them, example= Muse- use techno to enhance the song/ instruments, and Scooter- just uses electro to provide the instruments. And i was stereotyping modern dance/ techno music.

I wasn't insulting Kraftwerk, as I admire Kraftwerk like I admire Stephen Hawking, which is a lot, and i admit that rock music isn't safe from mediocrity e.g. Revenge Seven Fold (if i am correct), and moxxomoxxom, i do agree with your statement, some rock music is bullshit, and maybe I am sometimes ignorant, bit that is just me. I saw them in Athens live in the summer of 2005!!!! Maybe not the best show I've ever been but it was GREAT!! I especially remeber this particular song :) ........ As a friend before me stated, they may not give a real conventional show, but if you're there... man, you're captivated... quality of sound .... huge displays... visual effects... and ofcourse sound effects that you least expect come and fit the rhythm so perfect.............

Kraftwerk don't need to jump around on stage. They let the music speak for itself. Also, as they are from Germany, I think they may be funning with their audience by playing on the stereotype of the highly efficient, stoical German.

Kraftwerk are - in spite of their fondness for technology and futuristic themes - upholding a very classical stance on what it means to be an artist. Compare it to this:
You don't see a classical symphony orchestra, where the first violinist suddenly jumps up and do a headspin or backflip just to "entertain" the crowd. That would detract the audience's focus from where it ought to be: on the music, on the art. Not on the band members themselves or on any cheap gimmick they might employ.

a classical sumphony orchestra entertains me...apart from the fact that the music they play is far more complex than kraftwerk`s...they etertain the crowd by alot of things....like syncronizing their instruments ..or the way they play them....u really can`t compare them to kraftwerk..(and I was kidding when I said that they should do a backflip...it was just an example of something entertaining....I don`t need an artist to jump around on stage, but I don`t want him to just stand there either)
