i couldnt tell if that was a stock exhaust system on there or if you had a aftermarket one...cause the exhaust "noise" sounded stock, and i know this sounds bad i'm just wondering
If you ordered your manifold and/or turbine housing ceramic coated when you bought it from AMS then my buddy is probably the one who coated it. We do ceramic coatings on the manifolds and turbine housings of the 35r and 42r kits and also the wastegate dump tubes for the 42r kit. Pretty sweet. Nice evo.
LOL Nice comment. Well that was when i was putting the car together. It now has AEM is on E85 fully built AMS 2.0 with an 850R. The car is now over 700AWHP. OH and it has an AMS upper IC pipe now as well. I hope that makes u really happy! :)
yeah silver is the best color for a car specially at midnight and how you exactly got it to be 700 hp mostly only supras and skylines go that high evos are hard to get there just bigger turbo more gas usage ... what modifications did you made to the engine ?
it's not hard to build a 700hp evo as long as you got the cash there 1000hp evo's out there too it just takes time, money, a great tuner, and a driver that knows his car and what he's doing
The IX has a bigger turbo and has the variable valve timing called MIVEC. The VIII produces 276 hp and 286 ft-lbs of torque. The IX has 286 hp and 289 ft-lbs of torque. Thats about it...visual differences im sure u already know that its obvious
you can take a 1g 6bolt 4g63 and make 1200whp if you have the knowledge and cash..
id say evo8 non mivec engine is better and less complicated for all out performance.... (over 600+awhp).. some companies report issues with mivec tuning after certain levels of upgrades/awhp.
but for normal amounts of upgrades... i might go with a mivec 4g, last 4g and most high tech.
and MR is basically new suspension, a 6speed and some "looks stuff".. RS is best!!!
GrEeK335xi , how can you already know what turbo you wanna buy when you dont even know what car you're going to purchase? you have alot to learn before you purchase something like an evo my friend.
The upper IC pipe is not a restriction at this point. The car now has a AMS VSR intake and is tuned for 26psi on 93 octane pump gas and is now making 542WHP still on stock internals and ECU. Im at the limit of the stock ignition at this point.. I had to gap the plugs down to .020 to get it to stop getting spark blow out.
Oh thanks, just what I needed to know, I think I'd go with the 50 trim for sure now. Because I'm looking for quick spooling and not too much or crazy power, I still want to be able to attack the corners at high speeds without trouble.
50 trim is worthless in my opinion when you have the white and green on the market. it depends what yo want it for? are you dragging or auto-x and road course? For me i only auto x and go to the road courses so I'm going to stick with the OE type turbos
yea but there not proven on the evo's that i know of. i know on evo m a guy used a hx40 and i dont know where you foun that it out performed the GT35r. The guy couldn't even get the hx40 to spool before 4200 rpms. The GT35 from AMS is tested and proven
I really dont see why there would be a huge difference between the evo and dsms other than idk if they make turbine housings for the hx40 so it will bolt right up to your exsisting manifold and downpipe like the the dsms. My buddy has a hx35 on a 2g eclipse and he basically has boost right as he steps on the gas. There are some videos on here of small displacement cars with hx35 and hx40's and they seem to be doing pretty well..
Maybe, but I love the look of a totally modded turbo system on a EVO 9. But I'm gonna use that car for like time attack, and things related to that. Does the green spool faster than the 50 trim? If it does, I'm gonna get that then. But then again, would it be better if I just used the stock turbo, and just tuned the hell out of it? Fastest spooling & minimal hp gain over stock but more power and torque is what I want.
If i were you i would look into holset turbo's they are amazing turbos for there price. The hx40 out performs the gt35r with costing half the price at retail cost! They are journal bearing turbos but spool up quicker and and cheap to rebuild if needed. Even the hx35 is a extremely nice turbo. Do some research on them if you want to.
Hm... well, that is good, but I'm looking for something that will give me a little more power over a stock EVO, but not too much. I'm trying to get minimum horsepower gain. But, I like the whole upgraded turbo system look; with the wastegate and stuff.
Stock block and ECU. Was on 22psi pump gas daily driver mode in the vid. Dyno chart is 32psi. Pump gas dyno was 443whp. Both pump and 110 fuel tunes are VERY conservative due to the stock internals.
which exhaust is it?
