I'm so mad I missed the fireworks that night =( just moved to into dt this summer and have missed both fireworks and will be missing the third one, fingers crossed for the last one!
Something similar happened many years ago in the early days of the fireworks festival, except it was late at night, around midnight, and the entire sky was bright red. Cars were pulling over on the Upper Levels highway so they could get out and look at it. Craziest thing I ever saw.
while i was going to english beach i saw how orange the sky was and i never saw that in vancouver, very weird summer day. south africa's firework's were cool aswell.
it doesn't "always" rain, but it rains a lot during fall/spring. But I'm telling you Vancouver's summer is the BEST. Sunshine and not too hot temperature (around 30 degrees Celsius is the highest)
There's nothing wrong with East Vancouver. All the bad stories are really about Downtown East Side, along Hastings St. That's where all the homeless people and drug addicts hang out. Everywhere else is fine.
Apart from my totally unrelated comment (...lol...sorry about that. ), I forgot to say thanks for such a great clip of an amazing Vancouver Sky! I know the camera couldn't possibly express the fullness of what you saw in person, but I can imagine it must have been AMAZING!...Very cool. Thanks.
It's not even close to what I saw, too noisy and the auto exposure kills the feeling of it, but I will always remember what I saw that night, like many others.
No. It rains a lot, but it's not that bad. Right now, it's like 30 degrees out and in the winter it wont get any colder than -10. Come the end of the day, we have the best of every season and we have to give up a little rain some times to get it.
...Why can't you God hating rejects just save your self righteous blathering for your drunk bar friends, and let these people enjoy their moment. I don't share the beliefs of these people either, but I don't go out of my way to insult them or degrade their beliefs. How the hell do you know what lays beyond? And what if there is no God? Is that really something to be thrilled about? Personally I think it would be a painful reality to have nothing more than this. The search goes on.
I remember this day....unforgettable...started out clear and sunny

I was on my roof during this evening and I gotta say it was probably the most beautiful sky I've ever seen along with the thunder and fireworks.
Oh and I was enjoying a swisha sweet filled with blueberry with some friends so that made it even more trippy/cool.
