Oh, not to mention the tar shales and sands. Eegah, Dr. James Hansen wrote in his book "Storms of My Grandchildren" that if we manage to burn all of the oil, gas and coal as well as the oil shales/sands, the Venus syndrome is a dead certainty. Even getting started burning oil shales/sands should be out of the question, imo.

Haha, crazy that two of them are touting one million barrels per day from ANWR. Depending on the actual reserves there, those wells would peak at about 1.35 million barrels per day according to the DOE. Look up the report "Potential Oil Production from the Coastal Plain of ANWR: Updated Assessment" under the Resource Assessment chapter. America on its own uses well over 10x more than that. Also, the oil goes on the world market anyway, making it easier for China to develop a gas car culture.
